1 GRANT RF CONTROL CENTER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Always disconnect battery while servicing or modifying the electrical system of the vehicle. You will need standard hand tools, a Test Light and a Digital Volt Meter (optional). We have provided a relay bank for you to control the items you wish. The outputs from the receiver are only a (-)200 milliamp ground output (only enough to power a single dash light), you must use a relay to control your selected functions or damage to the receiver outputs will result. Mounting the Receiver The receiver may be mounted anywhere under the dash that is out of harms way. The wires should be able to reach the power connection points and the relays for each circuit. Secure the receiver with screws or any other easy mounting method. Also keep in mind that the programming switch (the button with the gray and black wires) will need to be used to program the unit after installation, so make sure that you can plug it into the blue connector on the receiver for this procedure. The button can be unplugged after programming, so you may want to mount the receiver so that this can be removed easily after use. The antenna can be affixed anywhere in this area as well using the double stick tape on the base of the antenna. Mounting the Relay Bank The relays must be mounted near enough to the receiver to be connected and then still connect to the individual items to be controlled. Mount the relay bases using the screws provided. The relays provided are rated for a maximum output of 20A continuous, some items you want to control may require more power than this so you may need to purchase a relay with a higher rating. Do not plug the relays into the base at this time. Wire connections are explained below. Receiver Wire Connection Guide YELLOW (+) ignition input: Connect to a fused switched ignition input. The test light can be used to find this circuit. BLACK (-) chassis ground input: Connect this wire to a paint free surface on the vehicle chassis. Use a factory bolt if possible. WHITE/BLUE Not used in this application. GRAY (-) program input: This wire may be used instead of the GRAY/BLACK programming button. It is not used in most cases, but it can be used to program the system if the momentary button is not available by simply touching the wire to ground as you would when using the programming button (as explained later in this manual). BROWN (+) programming light output: Connect this wire to a programming light. This connection is necessary for programming the receiver. RED (+) constant power input: Connect to a fused constant 12V source. The test light can be used to find this circuit. WIRES W/BLACK STRIPES (-)200ma channel outputs: These wires connect to the relays to control the devices you wish to operate. Again, they are only low current ground outputs that must be connected to relays and cannot drive any loads directly. Green=channel 1, Red=channel 2, Blue=channel 3, Purple=channel 4, Gray=channel 5 and White=channel 6.

2 Relay Connections: Once the relay bank is mounted, route the 6 wires with stripes from the receiver to the relays and cut to length (if required). Strip 3/16 of insulation from the end of each wire and securely crimp the terminals provided onto the end of each wire. Insert these terminals into the relay base using port #2 (see illustration) matching the wire color you are inserting with the one in port #5. For instance: green to green, purple to purple, blue to blue and so on. Once all wires are installed into the relay bases then you may install the relays. Route the 6 large red wires to a fused power source and connect securely. This power source may be constant hot, ignition hot or a combination of both depending on what accessory you want to operate. Route the relay output wires to the accessories to be operated and connect. These wires may be lengthened if necessary.

3 Programming the Receiver and Transmitter The system uses the transmitter programming function to store transmitter channels to the receiver s memory. Up to 4 separate transmitters can be stored by the receiver and retained in memory. The supplied plug-in programming switch (with Gray and Black wires) is used for this procedure. The GRAY wire in the main harness can also be used (if needed) by touching it to ground. Before proceeding plug the programming switch into the blue connector on the receiver. Reconnect power to the vehicle. Connect a test light to the brown lead from the receiver by attaching the clip end to this wire and the pick end to a good chassis ground. Once programmed, the transmitter(s) will be stored in memory even if power is lost to the receiver. Entering the transmitter programming function: NOTE: READ PROCEDURE ENTIRELY BEFORE PROCEEDING 1. Turn the ignition to the run position. The YELLOW switched ignition input wire must be connected. 2. Press the program button the number of times equal to the channel you want to program. On the last press, HOLD the button. For example, to program a transmitter to channel 3, press the button 3 times and hold on the third press. The programming light will flash the same number of times equal to the program selected. Once for channel 1, 3 times for channel 3 etc, 3. While holding the programming button down, press the button(s) on the transmitter that you would like to control the selected receiver channel. One flash will confirm that the code has been learned. 4. Once the code is learned, the button(s) on the transmitter can be released. You can move from one channel to another by releasing the program button and tapping it to advance steps and then holding it. For instance: You have programmed channel 1 and want to program channel 2. Release the program button, press it 1 time and hold it down, the programming light will flash 2 times showing you are on channel 2. Proceed to push a button(s) on the transmitter to operate this channel, releasing it (them) once the code is learned. Programming will be exited if: 1. The ignition is turned off. 2. The Program button is pressed too many times. 3. More than 15 seconds elapse between steps. One long flash by the test light indicates the programming mode has been exited. LOST OR STOLEN TRANSMITTERS It is possible to remove lost or stolen transmitters from the system s memory. NOTE: READ PROCEDURE ENTIRELY BEFORE PROCEEDING 1. Turn the ignition to the run position. The YELLOW switched ignition input must be connected. 2. Press and release the program button 6 times. On the seventh press, HOLD the button down. The programming light will flash 7 times to indicate that you wish to remove all transmitters. 3. While holding the programming button, press any button(s) on a transmitter that the system has learned. One flash will confirm that all transmitters have been deleted from the system s memory. 4. Once the flash is seen, the button can be released. 5. After deleting the lost or stolen transmitter, use the transmitter programming function (above) to teach the system the new transmitter. TRANSMITTER BATTERY REPLACEMENT Battery life should be 2-3 years. When needed simply remove the transmitter from its housing either by prying it open, or by removing the 2 screws on the plastic enclosure. Slide the battery from its holder and replace with a new CR2032 battery or equivalent (easily obtained wherever batteries are sold).

4 OUTPUT PROGRAMMING FUNCTION Now its time to program the system output functions. You can choose from momentary, ignition latched, constant latched or timed program functions. Once configured, the settings are stored in memory and will be retained even if power is lost to the unit. They can be changed at any time should you wish. Again, you will need the plug-in programming switch. NOTE: PLEASE READ PROCEDURE ENTIRELY BEFORE PROCEEDING 1. Turn the ignition to the RUN position and then back to OFF. The YELLOW ignition input wire must be connected. 2. Press the program button the number of times equal to the channel you want to program. On the last press HOLD the button. For example, to program channel 2, press the button 2 times and hold it. The programming light will flash twice to indicate channel 2. As you hold the button, the system will begin to cycle through the types of outputs available as shown in the chart below: You will have to pay attention as it will continue to cycle until you release the button for the choice you want. 3. When you see the flash(s) indicating the output you want, release the program button. FLASHES One Two Three One Two Three OUTPUT TYPE Momentary Latch Reset w/ignition Standard Latch 30 Seconds Timed 60 Seconds Timed 90 Seconds Timed After you have programmed a channel, you can move to another and program it without exiting this mode. Simply press the program button the number of times needed to step from the channel you are on to the channel you want to program. For example, if you just programmed channel 4 and want to go to channel 5, you would press the button one time and hold it. Programming will be exited if: 1. The ignition is turned on. 2. More than 15 seconds elapse between steps. 3. The program button is pressed too many times. The programming light will flash quickly followed by a long flash when exiting the programming mode. You can now remove the programming button from the receiver and save it for future use, or you can leave it plugged in if you wish and just hide it under the dash. If, during this period, the product fails under normal usage because of a manufacturing defect, then we will replace or repair the item.
