Pag. 4 of 31 First aid: artificial breathing(mouth to mouth) In case of electric shock you have to ensure the first aids to the patient, but to do this you have to consider two very important things: - interrupt immediately the electric circuit; - if the circuit has not been interrupted, do not touch the patient with bare hands; After doing this, without delay contact the nearest mobile unit of first aid and practice to the patient, in case of loss of consciousness, the breathing mouth to mouth as described below. Put the patient lying on his back with the arms parallel to the body, ensure that he does not have the breathing tracts obstructed (chewing-gum, dental prosthesis, etc.), otherwise set him free from foreign bodies. Kneel near the patient s head and putting a hand under his neck, incline as possible his/her head backwards. Going on with keeping the patient s head inclined with one hand, use the other one to occlude the nostrils, if you are going to practise the breathing through the oral cavity, or occlude the mouth if you want to do it through the nasal cavity. While doing this begin the auto-oxygenation, with deep breathing. Then practice the artificial breathing blowing in the chosen cavity beginning with ten expirations each minute to go on them with twelve and fifteen. 4 During the breathing procedure you have to control that the patient s chest dilates, otherwise change cavity where to blow the air because the previous one could be obstructed. 5 Do not ever stop the artificial breathing until the patient has recovered or the first aid unit has come.

Pag. 6 of PREFACE Every time it is needed to carry more then one transport stream from one site to another using only one ASI interface it is possible to use our EK-MPA/4 and EK-DMA/4 boards. The EK-MPA/4 board multiplexes up until to four ASI plus two internal transport stream into a single transport stream that is ISO/IEC compliant. In this manner the output transport stream can be processed by other systems (i.e. re-multiplexer, radio links) and then forwarded to the EK-DMA/4 to obtain at its outputs the originary transport stream without modifications in value at any bit. When it is necessary to multiplexing/demultiplexing more then four ASI transport stream, it is possible to use a cascade configuration.

Pag. 7 of EK-MPA/4 theory of operation 2. General description The EK-MPA/4 board is a 4 ASI to ASI transparent multiplexer (see EK-MPA/4 block scheme).it is composed by four physical input represented by the four input BNC connectors located in the board panel (see EK-MPA/4 board panel description), plus two internal inputs that are directly connected with the EK-MFR/1 by the internal connections matrix line (see EK-MFR/1 user s manual). All the inputs are interfaced with the VC mapper unit. The transport stream present on a particular input can be mapped to one of the eight Virtual Channels (VC1 VC8) of the VC mapper. If an input is not used it can be connected by the menu to the Waste container. After the mapping procedure beetwen the input transport streams and the desidered Virtual Channels, an unique transport stream is generated with the data pid assigned by the menu. If the insertion of the SI table is required, the transport stream is multiplexed with the signals of the table generator and sent to the output module. The output module is directly connected with the two physical output connectors, represented by the two BNC connectors reported on the board panel (see EK-MPA/4 board panel description), plus an internal output signal connected to the EK-MFR/1 by the internal matrix line connection (see EK- MFR/1 user s manual). A particular hardware permits during a fault or when the board is not powered up, to carry out the transport stream present on the ASI input BNC IN1 connector to the ASI output BNC OUT M connector (bypass mode), while on the OUT S BNC connector the output transport stream is present if the board in powered up only.

Pag. 8 of EK-MPA/4 block scheme

Pag. 9 of EK-DMA/4 theory of operation The EK-DMA/4 board is an ASI to 4ASI transparent demultiplexer (see EK-DMA/4 block scheme). It is composed by two physical inputs represented by the two input BNC connectors located in the board panel (see EK-DMA/4 board panel), plus one internal input that is directly connected with the EK-MFR/1 by the internal connection matrix line (see EK-MFR/1 user s manual). The three inputs are connected to a selector controlled by the Sel in parameter.by the menu, it is possible, to change the value of the Sel in parameter (see EK-DMA/4 menu structure), to decide which input signal must be processed by the board. If the Auto value is load on the Sel in sub-menu, the system automatically switch on the first valid transport stream input in according to the next priority: IN1,IN2,INT IN. The selected input transport stream is sent to the packet selector module that filters out all the packets except those with the selected DATA PID. The transport stream is then sent to the VC demapper in order to send any different virtual channels (VC1-VC8) to a different selected outputs. The outputs of the EK-DMA/4 are six, four phisycal, represented by the four BNC located in the board panel (see EK-DMA/4 board panel) plus two internal directly connected to the EK-MFR/1 by the internal connection matrix line(see EK-MFR/1 user s manual).

Pag. 13 of Configuration example description The above figure shows an example of the transparent MUX/DEMUX system.the Asi In 3 transport stream is mapped into the Virtual Channel number two (VC2). To do this, the user must execute the following setting (see EK-MPA/4 menu description and keyboard guide): Asi3 to = VC2 The same operation is executed for the Int in 1 transport stream, but this input is mapped on the Virtual Channel number seven (VC7). Int1 to = VC7 The other transport streams input, no matter if are present or not, are not used and so they are sent on the Waste container. Asi1 to = Waste Asi2 to = Waste Asi4 to = Waste Int2 to = Waste It is needed to address the unused inputs to the Waste to avoid that the streams present on those inputs are transferred to the output, at the same time it is needed to take care about the bit rate present on each input and the setted output bit rate and it is necessary to follow the next formula: Out Bit Rate > 188/183 * [Σ Input bit Rate] + 40 kbit/sec. If the SI Table are not needed on the output and are switched off the 40 kbit/sec. could be considered 0 kbit/sec. The Virtual Channels are then combined into a single transport stream that can be demultiplexed by the EK-DMA/4 board. The transparent demultiplexer demaps the transport stream, coming from the EK-MPA/4, into different Virtual Channels (VC1-VC8) that are subsequently associated to the EK-DMA/4 outputs. Like the figure 1.7 shows, we have :(see EK-DMA/4 menu description and keyboard guide) Asi1 from = VC2 Asi2 from = VC2 Asi3 from = VC7 Asi4 from = VC7 Int1 from = None Int2 from = None The above settings allow to obtain on the ASI OUT 1 and ASI OUT 2 the same transport stream present on the ASI IN 3 connector of the EK-MPA/4 board. In the same way, on the ASI OUT 3 and ASI OUT 4 there is the same transport stream present on the Internal input (INT IN 1) of the EK-MPA/4. The outputs that are not used, are disabled with the None value.

Pag. 14 of Redundancy The EK-MPA/4 board could be used in a 1+1 Hot Stand-by configuration. The above figure shows two EK-MPA/4 boards, that could be also inserted in two different EK- MFR/1. The ASI IN2,ASI IN3, ASI IN4 transport streams inputs of the two EK-MPA/4 are coming from the same sources, the transport stream output of the Secondary EK-MPA/4 is directly sent to the ASI IN1 input of the Main EK-MPA/4 while the ASI IN1 input of the Secondary EK-MPA/4 is not used (Waste container). The Redoundancy condition allows, if the EK-MFR/1 Main is powered down, to obtain on the output of the main unit, the same transport stream present on the output of the Secondary unit. It is possible because, the bypass condition, when the EK-MFR/1 main is powered down or something is fault, allows to directly connect the ASI IN1 port with the output port, so the output of the Secondary EK-MPA/4 is directly connected with the output of the Main EK-MPA/4. It is important, to assure for the correct working condition that the ASI IN1 transport stream of the Main EK-MPA/4 is not mapped on a Virtual Channel.

Pag. 21 of EK-DMA/4 menu description and keyboard guide The content of each menu is here described. Each variable value can be set using the modifying variable keys (EK-MFR/1 manual, Board panel description) and to confirm the change pressing the enter key. >Status The Status menu is a read only menu. The user can read the informations about the board status, accessing the following EK-MFR/1 sub-menu: >>Demux: Indicates the status of the board : OK: when the board works without alarms (normal working condition). Data loss: occurs when on the input, after the Sel In module selector, it is present a transport stream without packets with the selected DATA PID. VC Error: occurs when on the input, after the Sel In module selector, transport stream packets with correct DATA PID are present but the content is not related with the frame allowed by the EK-DMA/4 and an alarm is revealed, the same could be happen with errored transport stream. >>ASI IN1 : Indicates the status of the transport stream present on the IN1 BNC connector. When an alarm occurs, there are three different fault conditions: Asi CD = The transport stream carrier is missing. Asi Error = The transport stream is corrupted. Ts in Unlock = The transport stream is unlocked (Sync byte missed or corrupted).when the input is in Waste condition, the display shows the input status without to report alarm condition. When no alarms occur, the display shows the transport stream bit rate. The alarm is in progress if the input is selected by the sel in menu only. If, for example, an input unlock is detected on the ASI IN2, but the sel In is switched on the Asi In1, the status of the ASI IN2 shows the Ts in Unlock but is not an alarm for the system because the Selected input to process is ASI In1. If the Auto value is loaded and an alarms is revealed on the board inputs (before the input selector),the system is in alarm. The ASI IN2 staus input behavioral is the same of the ASI IN1 above descripted. >>INT IN : Indicates the status of the transport stream present on the internal line connection. AN ALARM ON THIS INPUT IS NOT REPORTED ON THE EK-MFR/1 SYSTEM. >>ASI OUT1 : indicates the status of the transport stream present on the OUT 1 BNC connector. Refer to 2.7 and 2.8 parag. >Revision Gives information about the software releases. >>DSP DSP software release. >>FPGA FPGA software release. >>CPLD CPLD software release. >>RamDisk RamDisk software release.

Pag. 23 of EK-DMA/4 variables setting example The hereafter example explains how to set the selection of the input transport stream (Sel In) for the EK-DMA/4. The procedure to set this parameter is valid for all board setting. EK-DMA/4 board is inserted in the EK-MFR/1 slot number zero. Pressing the Explorer menu keys go to the slot 0 page. Pushing the enter key (EK-MFR/1 manual, board panel description), the user can enter on the EK-DMA/4 menu (par 4.4). The display shows the first menu of the board (Status) Using the explore menu keys, it is possible to see every of the three main menu of the board: Status, Settings, and Revision. The Sel In variable is located in the Setting menu, so the user must go on this menu.

Pag. 24 of 31 The Setting menu is showed on the EK-MFR/1 display, so pushing the enter key it is possible to enter in every sub menu of the Setting main menu. The first sub-menu is Sel In (par 4.4) as the next figure shows. The Sel In parameters is settled to the Auto value as default. To change the default value displayed it is necessary pushing the enter key. The variable value flash and using the modify variable keys it is possible to set the parameter on the Asi 1 value. When the value is displayed, pressing the enter key it is possible to confirm the change (as the next figure shows). If the Esc key is pressed the display returns the previous value.

Pag. 25 of 31 NOTE: The procedure to set the variables of the EK-MPA/4 is the same, in according with the EK- MPA/4 variable displayed on the par 4.1.

Pag. 26 of WEB PAGE The EK-MPA/4 and the EK-DMA/4 boards are supplied of a web page that allows to obtain a complete view of the status of the boards variable. When the EK-MFR/1 system is connected to a terminal unit (PC) and the web pages of the system are loaded (EK-MFR/1 user s handbook, web interface chapter), the user can see the following EK-MFR/1 main web page:

Pag. 27 of 31 In this example: The EK-MPA/4 board is loaded in the slot number zero; to visualize the web page of the board is necessary to move, using a mouse, the cursor on the slot associated to the board (slot 0) and then to click the left mouse button on its. So we obtain the following image: The web page of the EK-MPA/4 board is showed above. In the top section, are reported the version of the software tool (v 1.0) and the name of the board with the associated slot number (EK-MPA/4 = => slot 0). Under the name, of the board, are indicated every menu in dark colour, while the selected menu is in light colour and its variables are displayed on the centre of the page. The down side of the page is featured by the following parameter: the refresh time variable allows to set the useful time to confirm the setting of a menu variable. The time to new refresh windows gives information about the countdown of the refresh time. The Set parameter box allows to confirm the setting of a menu variable. The output console line with the status square are used to obtain a view of the alarm conditions of the entire system. During the normal working conditions, the output console line returns the No Alarm value; if an alarm is in progress, the following message appears: <<Alarm Active. n variables in alarm>>, where n is the number of the variables in alarm. When a menu variable is affected by an alarm, the value of the variable, in the related window, is showed in red colour and also the name of the board became red.

Pag. 28 of 31 The next example shows how to set a variable value of the board. The procedure to set every variable value is similar to this. We suppose to disable (Waste condition) the ASI 1 to input port. This parameter is located in the Setting menu.so, the first step to disable the input port is to enter on the EK-MPA/4 settings menu. To do this it is necessary to push the left mouse key on the Setting windows, the following page is displayed: Now it is necessary to select the ASI 1 to dialog box, the next page appears

Pag. 29 of 31 Using a mouse, the user must select the Waste parameter, the following figure is showed:

Pag. 30 of 31 We have settled, for example, the refresh time parameter on the 30 seconds indicator, so every thirty seconds the system variables are refreshed. When the refresh countdown is complete the refresh label is flashing. When a new value is loaded in the variable window (in the example Setting ASI 1 to = Waste) the user has then seconds to confirm the value pushing, using the left mouse button, the Set box (a message is showed on the output console line). At the end of the then seconds, if the refresh time is not finished, it is again possible pushing the set box (you can still press set (until new refresh occurs) is showed on the output console line); if also the refresh time is at the end, the system reloaded the previous variable value. When the settings operations are complete, the new loaded value is visible on the EK-MFR/1 display. NOTE: The procedure to set the web pages of the EK-DMA/4 is the same in according with the EK-DMA/4 variable displayed on the par 4.3.
