26 Description of Each Sound Fied Program The foowing ist gives brief descriptions of the sound fieds produced by each of the DSP programs. Keep in mind that most of these are precise digita recreations of actua acoustic environments. The data for them was recorded at the ocations described using sophisticated sound fied measurement equipment. Note: The channe eve baance between the eft rear effect speaker and the right rear effect speaker may vary depending on the sound fied you are istening to. This is due to the fact that most of these sound fied recreations are actua acoustic environments. PROGRAM FEATURE PRO LOGIC This program is effective for payback of sources encoded with Doby Surround. The empoyment of the digita signa processing system reduces crosstak and transfers the sound source more smoothy and precisey, compared to conventiona types. A stabe movie sound fied is recreated. PRO LOGIC ENHANCED This program is effective for payback of sources encoded with Doby Surround. Enhancing the Norma Doby Pro Logic, the DSP technoogy simuates the muti-surround speaker systems of a 5 mm fim theater, thus widening the surround-sound fied with greater presence. 70 mm MOVIE THEATER This program is effective for payback of sources encoded with Doby Surround. The Yamaha DSP technoogy is ideay combined with the Doby Pro Logic to present you the incredibe istening experience of the 70 mm movie theater. This program is idea for precisey reproducing the sound design of the newest movies. The sound fied is made according to the design of the atest movie theaters, so the reverberations of the sound fied itsef are restrained as much as possibe. The three-dimensiona feeing of the sound fied is emphasized and diaog is precisey oriented on the screen. You can enjoy watching sciencefiction, action, and adventure movies with this program. TV THEATER This program is suitabe for dramas, variety or music programs, etc. Much surround effect can be gained for stereo sources. This program is most suitabe for sports programs encoded with Doby Surround STADIUM This program gives you ong deays between direct sounds and effect sounds, and the extraordinariy spacious fee of a arge stadium. ROCK CONCERT This program is suitabe for rock music. A big, powerfu sound is reproduced ivey and dynamicay. JAZZ CLUB This is a sma, cosy jazz cub with a ow ceiing. The sound is very cose and intimate. CHURCH This program recreates the acoustic environment of a modern church with a high pointed dome and coumns aong the sides. This interior produces very few primary refections. CONCERT HALL In this program, the center seems deep behind the front speaker pair, creating an expansive, arge ha ambience. Description of Doby Pro Logic Surround DOLBY PRO LOGIC SURROUND: This unit empoys the Doby Pro Logic Surround system. This system is simiar to professiona Doby Stereo decoders used in movie theaters. By empoying a four-channe system, the Doby Pro Logic Surround system divides the input signas into four eves: the eft and right main channes, the center channe (to characterize diaog), and the rear surround-sound channes (to characterize sound effects, background noise and other ambient noise). Doby Surround is encoded on the sound track of commerciay avaiabe video cassettes and video discs as we. When you pay a source encoded with Doby Surround on your home video system, the Doby Pro Logic Surround system in this unit decodes the signa and feeds the surround-sound effects. The Doby Pro Logic Surround mode may not be aways effective on video sources not encoded with Doby Surround. Manufactured under icense from Doby Laboratories Licensing Corporation. Additionay icensed under Canadian patent number 1,07,877. Doby, Pro Logic, and the doube-d symbo are trademarks of Doby Laboratories Licensing Corporation. 6
