3 Hardware Setup 1 Crate 3 X 16 Ch ADC Boards NI PXI-1033 NI PXI-6284 A Patch Panel split the signal after bessel filters and send it to both the DAQ systems Detector and FE Bessel Filters Box Patch Panel Acquisition driven by a dedicated pc optically connected to the crate APOLLO DAQ VXI DAQ An improved version of the patch panel will be ready soon 4 unipolar output for oscilloscope connection Some interface to NI Boards digital I/O channels Active components are required in order to gain these features
4 Apollo DAQ Software Data taking Continuous data stream can be saved into single channel files: Useful for debugging and inspection of non standard detector performance Produced file size is ~ 160 MB/ch/day The whole DAQ chain can be reproduced offline starting from continuous data stream files Data base Basic interface with data base has been implemented, even if the currently installed db is slightly different from the one that will be used in CUORE At moment only a small bunch of setup parameters are read from the db and also few parameters are written back Trigger engine For each channel up to 4 trigger algorithm can process acquired data in parallel Trigger engine only flags the data (1 independent flag for each running trigger) The Event Builder decides how to treat the flags and builds the Root Event accordingly
5 The User Interface Basic Graphical User interface Set Run number, select Profile from DB, start and stop measurement... Virtual oscilloscope for online measurement monitor
6 Performed measurements Few days data taking performed in January and February during Clamps run: VXI and Apollo DAQ systems were run in parallel and separately Apollo data continuously saved into files for offline analysis and re-processing A first attempt of trigger has been realized in order to have a complete DAQ chain triggered events also saved in root file format In order to compare the 2 systems and study mutual influence, triggered data is converted in binary format used for standard CUORICINO analysis Analysis in progress: some preliminary results will be shown in the next slides
7 Trigger performance after binary conversion pulse max location distribution is not so bad if compared with VXI data The main purpose of the trigger algorithm was to obtain a CUORCINO-like data format for comparison with the VXI DAQ data
8 Spectrum Comparison Spectrum obtained from 3 day bkg measurement when systems were running in parallel
9 Next Steps Perform a complete analysis on the acquired data Compare VXI voltage spectrum in parallel and stand-alone measurement and repeat this exercise for all 8 acquired channels Compare power spectra for noise and signals Porting to the new DB structure Currently used db revealed potential internal incoherence Apollo GUI and monitoring tools GUI functionalities improvement Virtual scope debugging and improvement Voltage spectrum Counting rate Load Curves Working on low level communication with FE Automatic Diana-based Load curves construction and working point finder
