1 Warm-up: 9/11 Tribute Video First, scan the QR Code and listen to the audio. Then answer the following question in your journal: If you had one last phone call to make, who would you call and what would you say? *This is a sensitive topic. Please keep comments appropriate and tasteful.
2 Station 1: If I Knew If I Knew That I'd see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to keep. that I see you walk out the door, I would kiss your little face and call you back for one more. I'd hear your sweet little voice, I would video tape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day., I could spare an extra minute to stop and say "I love you," instead of assuming you would know I do. you would be there to share my day, I wouldn t have wasted a moment, or let one single moment slip away. But there will never be a next time, He took that away from us. He strapped a bomb to his chest and blew up your bus. So hold your loved ones close today, and whisper in their ear, Tell them how much you love them, and that you'll always hold them dear. Take time to say "I'm sorry," "Please forgive me," or "It's okay." And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today. Questions 1. What do you think has happened in this poem? Give a quote to support your opinion. 2. What subject is the poem about? What is the thematic statement the poet is saying about the subject? 3. 5 Station 4: I Hold in My Hand I Hold in My Hands The dust. The dust and wreckage of the towers. Even though I wasn't there, I can still feel it. It has damaged my hands with dirt. It has damaged my heart with sorrow. It has damaged my body with fear, and it has damaged my life with war. My life. My life could soon be filled with war, cruelty at its worst. Miles away, I can hear the planes' roaring engines, gliding through the air. My future. My life ahead. Whether it will be filled with war or peace, we will not know. My future keeps me going from dawn to dusk. Hope. Hope for the future. Hope for peace. Hope for my country's freedom. And hope for America to win this war on terrorism. Questions 18.
