4 ED S LETTER II ll admit that sugar has been a close companion of mine in the best and worst of times. Chips, fizzy drinks, chocolate you name it have filled me with an instant joy and convinced me that all will be fine, no matter how big the problem. With this, however, I have come to realise that sugar is more of a frenemy than a good friend. It makes itself comfortable in places it really should not (buttocks, tummy and, for some reason, my cheeks), only calls late at night or on the weekends, and then disappears when I start to cry (I like to eat when I m sad don t judge me). Just like any one-sided relationship, you come to realise that all the turmoil is just not worth a spike of satisfaction. So the time is now to pick up your mallet (metaphorical or not) and smash all of your sugary frenemies out of your life!
