1 Beyond Funny is a group of healthy humor enthusiasts who have collaborated to provide free educational materials and events to support individuals and organizations striving to improve global health and happiness. The Beyond Funny Humor Marathon is an annual event supporting The Longest Day campaign for The Alzheimer s Association. The purpose of this marathon event is to honor the strength, passion and endurance of those facing Alzheimer's with a day of activity. Held on the summer solstice, June 21, 2015, this event calls on participants to raise funds and awareness to advance the efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. There are several opportunities for you to participate in the Beyond Funny Humor Marathon: 1. We have several live events Downtown San Diego: a. Sunrise Laughter Yoga 8am Broadway Pier b. Humor Hub Laugh Fest 10am 7:50pm - Electra Condo c. Sunset Laughter Yoga 8pm Broadway Pier 2. Live online Laughter Yoga sessions will be held every hour on the hour starting at 9am and concluding at 8pm PST. Sign up at 3. Senior Support Events will be held around the globe to encourage senior care facilities to show a funny movie, invite a laughter yoga specialist or host a stand up comedy event at their center. Beyond Funny Friends and Family will reach out to their communities to partner with these locations, provide educational information, and report back to the Humor Hub so we can track participation. A Beyond Funny Senior Activity Guide will be sent out to all volunteer hosts 2 weeks prior to their event with educational materials and activity suggestions. funny.com

2 Beyond Funny Virtual Host Guide: 1. Sign up for our team at Even if you don t raise money, please sign up as it helps us build the numbers on our team and will make a bigger impact on awareness efforts. 2. Select your event time, date and location and send out invites. Choose a funny movie or other activity to share with your guests (see list of ideas in this document). Please us at Heidi@synergyprograms.com to let us know the details so we can track your participation during our live- stream. If you re willing to join a Google hangout before, during or after your event so we can record and rebroadcast to our viewers, let us know and we ll provide more info. 3. Print or educational materials, or have a one- page flier with list of resources to hand out. We plan to have all materials available electronically on our website, funny.com/tools 4. Join our social media party using #BeyondFunny, #thelongestday and #ENDALZ. You can participate live, help us promote leading up the event, or schedule posts ahead of time using a program such as Hootsuite. 5. Other helpful websites include (humor resources) and (Alzheimer s disease and caregiver resources). 6. Share press release to local news agencies for coverage of your event. We can also provide speakers to do interviews depending on location. Feel free to use Beyond Funny Logo in any of your marketing materials for this event, and keep us posted of any media coverage so we can share it with our community.
