You will be required to sign an NDA. Payment: Payment for the lines will be sent via paypal once all of the lines are completed. Pale Spectrum is a visual novel and a sequel to Brilliant Shadows. Both are chapters/games from the Book of Gray Magic. Right now we are only looking for a few side characters/extras, but will be holding auditions for larger roles after the Kickstarter (aiming to launch in March) Before you decide to audition, please make sure you understand the rules. Please use a quality mic! (no background noises, puffs, peaking, etc) There is a possibility that you will be asked to voice the same character in future games containing the character. Deadline for auditions: Feb 11th, Deadline for readings: All readings for the story must be completed by Feb 20th, Make sure you save and send your files properly. 3 Madame Age: Late 40 s Lines: Around 20 Recurring Character. Description: Strict, prompt mage. No nonsense. Administrative authority. Desired voice: Older woman, authoritative. High to Medium range. Ryuusia pronunciation clip here. Line 1: I care little for this nonsensical rumor of him erecting a secret school in Ryuusia. (Blunt, neutral.) Line 2: "Wonderful. Now I suppose we should start with the basics." (Prompt, about to interview someone for a job.) Line 3: "Dual specialities? After graduating early AND only three months of paired training?" (Incredulous, a bit suspicious) Line 4: "I feel like I am fifteen again." (Awed, delighted.) MALE Soldier Age: Late 20 s, early 30 s Lines: 8

4 Description: Devoted soldier. High enough ranked to not questions his orders. Skilled combatant. Desired voice: Medium to Low. I picture him of a similar temperament to Captain Norrington from Pirates of Carribean. Accent optional. Feel free to apply with and without. Line 1: "Step aside, bar wench. I have business with the witch." (Level, authoritative. Witch said with disdain.) Line 2: "What in the seventeen hells are you?" (Scared, repulsed, a bit surprised) Line 3: "You don t know the half of it. You ll not be the first mage I have killed." (Taunting) Cook Age: Mid 20 s Lines: 1 Description: A tavern s cook. Average sort of fellow. Desired voice: Common folk, peasanty sort of voice. Line 1: "Yes, that s her." (Eager to assist the authority)

5 Squire Age: Late teens Lines: 2 Description: Your typical squire. Young, foolhardy, easily cowed. Desired voice: Higher to medium voice preferred. Pronunciation clip of Vrayis here. Vuhray ess Line 1: "Lord Vrayis?" (Hesitant, confused. Why is he Here?? ) Line 1: "Lord Vrayis, why are you doing this?!" (Betrayed, distraught)

We are updating it and fitting it into a game with additional chapters featuring the same protagonist. 8 Child Age: 12ish? Lines: 1 Description: Jaded from watching his friends get taken. Desired voice: Young sounding, High to Medium range. Distant. Line 1: "No. Not everyone. They re all dead. Everyone. Everyone died." (Blank, emotionless.) The Father Age: late 30 s Lines: 12 Description: Spoils his only son who has gone missing. Will do anything to get him back. Desired voice: Medium to Low voice. Accent optional. (Should sound natural. Send both with and without accent if you want!)

9 Line 1: "What did we just send after our son?" (Stunned/scared) Line 2: "But it s been over a week since you started searching. He hasn t eaten anything!" (Anxious) Line 3: "I don t know how to thank you. After a week of not hearing from you, I had feared for the worst. (At a loss for words/grateful) The Mother Age: late 30 s Lines: 6

10 Description: Doting mother of an only child, and she believes that he is dead/gone/lost forever. Desired voice: Preferred Medium range. Should sound incredibly tired/quivery or dry and hopeless. Accent optional. (Should sound natural. Send both with and without accent if you want!) Line 1: "Can you really find him?" (Daring to believe) Line 2: "What is that AAH!" (Waking up in a dark room to see the silhouette of a figure by her bed) Line 3: "My baby! Oh my baby, it s okay. Everyone s okay." (Enormously relieved/hugging child) The Ice Cream Man Age: early 30 s Lines: 8

11 Description: An evil spirit abducting children in his antique ice cream car. A true salesman. Desired voice: High to Medium. Ideally should sound like he s from the 30 s or 40 s Line 1: "Run on home you kids. It s getting dark. This town isn t safe after dark." (Authoritative/grin) Line 2: "Oh no. Oh no. This isn t good.
