2 What not to miss... Dear Film fans A er a great year of cinema across the UK, which has seen cinema admissions at its highest since the 70s, we can't wait for another year of great films in Buxton. The Old Man & The Gun is Robert Redford's self-confessed last ac ng role. Based on the true story of Forest Tucker, an escape ar st and criminal who at the age of 70 broke out of San Quen n. A comic retelling of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic Sherlock Holmes arrives with Holmes and Watson. Starring Will Ferrell and John C Reilly as the detec ve duo, who are called in to inves gate a murder at Buckingham Palace. This tongue- incheek version has a fair amount of slaps ck humour, including ba ling killer bees with pistols. A very different film to its Sherlock predecessors, this version is bound to have you laughing out loud. A spin-off from the Transformers series is prequel Bumblebee. Set in 1987 our favourite yellow and black transformer is on the run, hiding out in a California junkyard. Charlie Watson a teenager who is s ll trauma sed by the death of her father discovers Bumblebee in his Beetle form. As Charlie revives him she discovers he is no ordinary car. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at 2018 Cannes is The Favourite. This historical comedy-drama shows the behind the scenes poli cs of two cousins vying to be Queen Anne's favourite. Starring Olivia Coleman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz and Mark Ga ss, this drama with a difference is not to be missed.
