8 TAAKOMSKRYWING : SAMEROEPERS JOB DESCRIPTION : CONVENORS AFRIKAANS 1. Die sameroeper moet oor die nodige en erkende opleiding, kennis en ondervinding beskik, om met passie en gesag oor die betrokke afdeling te waak. 2. Die bestaande voorskrifte moet elke jaar deeglik hersien word om te bepaal of dit aan al die vereistes vir die afdeling voldoen. 3. Die voorskrifte moet, waar van toepassing, met dié in die ander tale in die sillabus vergelyk word, om te verseker dat dit ooreenstem. 4. Indien dit nodig is om werk voor te skryf in die bepaalde afdeling, moet die standaard en inhoud billik en gepas wees vir die bepaalde ouderdom en geslag van die deelnemers. 5. Sameroepers moet toesien dat voorgeskrewe werke van so n aard is dat dit ook geredelik beskikbaar sal wees vir deelnemers. 6. Dit word van die sameroeper verwag om op die voorpunt van ontwikkeling te bly deur middel van onder andere navorsing en kontak met ander eisteddfods en soortgelyke instansies, om te bepaal of bestaande voorskrifte en riglyne steeds aanvaarbaar is. 7. Die hersiene weergawe van die voorskrifte vir die bepaalde afdeling moet aan die administratiewe bestuurder gestuur word vir goedkeuring deur die bestuur. 8. Die voorskrifte moet die administratiewe bestuurder voor of op 30 November van elke jaar bereik. 9. Indien oorvleueling tydens beoordeling voorkom, met ander woorde n deelnemer op twee plekke gelyktydig vir beoordeling moet aanmeld, kan n toegewing alleenlik deur die sameroeper van die spesifieke afdeling gemaak word, mits dit dieselfde afdeling en beoordelaar is. Die TIE-administratiewe bestuurder moet egter van die reëling kennis dra. 10. Alle verskuiwings sal net oorweeg word indien die versoek deur die geaffilieerde instansie se skakelopvoeder gerig word. ENGLISH 1. The Convenor must have the necessary and recognised training, knowledge and experience to carry out the task with passion and authority. 2. The existing instructions must be thoroughly revised each year to determine whether these conform to the requirements of the section. 3. The instructions must, where applicable, be compared with that of other languages in the syllabus to ensure that they are in agreement. 4. If it is necessary to prescribe work in a particular section, the standard and content must be reasonable and suitable for the designated age and gender of the participants. 5. Convenors must see to it that prescribed works will be of such a nature that it will be readily available for competitors. 6. It is expected of the convenor to be in the forefront of development constantly by means of research as well as consultation with other eisteddfods and similar organisations to ensure that the existing instructions and guidelines are still relevant. 7. The revised version of instructions for a particular section must be submitted to the administrative manager for approval by the executive committee. 8. The instructions must reach the administrative manager on or before 30 November each year. 9. If overlapping will occur during the period of adjudication, e.g. the participant needs to

9 perform at two separate venues simultaneously. In these events, the convenor of the section will be responsible to reschedule the participant to perform on another day permitted it is the same section and adjudicator. The administrative manager must also be informed of the arrangements. 10. All changes to the time table will only be considered if the request is done through the liaison educator of the affiliated institution. XHOSA UMSEBENZI WOMHLELI 1.
