Bobby Darren & Sheila Marie Country Music Show October 7pm Bobby Darren was born in Kaukauna Wisconsin in 1954 to a musical family of twelve. He taught himself to play guitar at age 5 and he started singing at age 7. His love for classic country, gospel and bluegrass shines through on the sentimental ballads as well as the toe-tapping honky tonk tunes. He cites his musical influences as Hank Williams Sr. and George Jones. Darren has shared the stage with Bill Phillips, Little Jimmy Dickens, Moe Bandy, George Jones, Sonny James and Jerry Reed among others. Today, Bobby is performing with his niece, Shelia, who also began singing at the young age of 4. Her musical influences are Liz Anderson, Loretta, Reba, Merle Haggard and Bill Monroe. Sheila has shared the stage with Faron Young, Merle Haggard and Rhonda Vincent. Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Rochelle Pennington October 3pm No other Great Lakes shipwreck is more well-known than the Edmund Fitzgerald, which disappeared into a stormy Lake Superior on November 10, 1975, when wind gusts peaked at nearly 100 miles per hour and waves reached the height of three-story buildings. The Edmund Fitzgerald remains the largest shipwreck on the Great Lakes to this day. Pennington delves into the various theories and opposing views of dive detectives who are still trying to solve the mystery of what led to the demise of the 29-man crew. Audience members will be led from the launch of the ship to its final radio broadcasts, and from the Fitz s discovery on Superior s bottom to the raising of artifacts from its watery grave. 1

3 Steve March-Tormé October 7pm Steve March-Tormé was born in New York City to the multi-talented Mel Tormé and Candy Tockstein, a model/actress. They were divorced when Steve was two and a half years old. Shortly thereafter, Candy married the actor/comedian Hal March. On the recommendation of Quincy Jones, Steve was tapped to be one of three featured singers for the vocal group Full Swing, which had its debut release on Planet Records. After successful tours of the United States, Brazil and Japan, Steve left the group to focus on his solo career. Steve has wooed audiences in every venue from intimate jazz clubs to Performing Arts Centers to festivals worldwide (Australia, England, Japan, Canada, and Brazil to name a few). Steve s live shows feature some of the most enduring, well-crafted songs ever written, beautifully arranged to appeal to the most nostalgic listener and to thrill the most sophisticated. Garrison Keillor as read by Evergreen Resident Bill Urbrock October 7pm Join Evergreen resident Bill Urbrock as he entertains the audience by reading selections from the musings of American author, storyteller, humorist, voice actor, and radio personality Garrison Keillor. Keillor is best known as the creator of the public radio show A Prairie Home Companion along with the fictional Minnesota town Lake Wobegon, the setting of many of his books. Thelen Family Band November 7pm The Thelen Family is comprised of Paul and his three daughters Elise, Eva and Ellie. The local Fond du Lac quartet will delight with their wide range of tunes from the 1930 s through the 1960 s, including styles of jazz, standard popular music and opera. A great feature this group has to offer is their incredible three-part harmony featuring Elise, Eva, and Ellie. You won t want to miss Neil Diamond s Sweet Caroline and other crowd pleasers by the Andrew Sisters, Frank Sinatra and the Beatles. KG & The Ranger November 1pm Remember how Roy Rogers and Gene Autry blazed across the Silver Screen, and always ended every movie with a song? KG & The Ranger s award-winning show is keeping those heroes - and their music - alive! Prepare to be totally enchanted as KG & The Ranger take you on a light-hearted, humorous, and toe-tapping musical journey way out west. This multi-talented husband and wife duo have been bringing the Old West to their Midwest home in Wisconsin since They have appeared at national cowboy events from California to Florida. They have won numerous other awards for their showmanship and fantastic harmony singing. They keep the audience entranced with interesting bits of history about the cowboy songs they sing. Western entertainment guaranteed fun for all ages! Encore! Handbell Choir November 7pm Encore! Handbell Ensemble, Inc. has been entertaining audiences since 2008 when we were established to promote the appreciation of handbell music, to provide quality musical performances, and to build a distinguished reputation in the art of handbell ringing. Our ensemble is made up of dedicated musicians from communities throughout northeastern Wisconsin who promote the arts through a unique form of musical expression and perform at an elite level. Concerts showcase a wide variety of music including sacred, secular, traditional and classical handbell pieces. With diversity from Mozart to Led Zeppelin and from German Events are presented for residents free of charge! polkas to holiday favorites, we provide a visual and musical show that appeals to all ages. 2 3

4 Events are presented for residents free of charge! The Christmas Tree Ship Presentation by Rochelle Pennington December 3pm All aboard the Christmas Tree Ship! Author Rochelle Pennington has written two books detailing one of the most wellknown shipwrecks of the Great Lakes, Lake Michigan s Christmas Tree Ship, which delivered holiday evergreens to the citizens of Chicago each Christmas season before it was caught in the Great Storm of 1912 and subsequently went to the bottom of the lake fully loaded with trees. The captain s wife, Barbara, along with their three daughters, then carried on for over twenty years afterward in honor of Captain Santa and in the spirit of everything he believed in. The ship is still loaded with its cargo today and is a popular Great Lakes dive site. LOOKING AHEAD Save the dates! Where has the time gone?! A year ago, things were quite a bit different, we were in transition, and the renovation and expansion were just being completed. And just as I thought I had it figured-out, something would change, and I felt as if I would never be able to put my own identity on the role of chaplain. Pastor Steve Wood But as things have progressed, I have been able to settle-in, and to make it my ministry. So many people have been extraordinarily patient and helpful along the way. It is truly a delight for me to offer spiritual care to the residents of Evergreen, and I considerate my work here as a holy privilege. Thank you to everyone who has made this first year an incredible blessing. 5 Evergreen Worship & Performing Arts Center Evergreen Fitness & Aquatic Center The Fitness and Aquatic Center is made up of the Fitness Center Manager, One Aquatic Specialist, One Exercise Specialist, and Fitness Assistants. Each position is designed to full-fill a variety of tasks to provide many opportunities to stay healthy, get fit, and have fun. SO MUCH TO BE GRATEFUL FOR! SO MUCH TO DO! The Aquatic Center is made up of a warm therapy pool and a regular lap swim pool where we offer open swim sections, instructed classes, and scheduled one on one sessions with residents. Each staff member is certified through the Arthritis Foundation to instruct a Joints in Motion class in our warm therapy pool designed for arthritis and pain management. There are two fitness centers at Evergreen, one in Creekview South and one located in the Courtyard Apartments. The Creekview South Fitness Center is equipped with Nusteps, Omnicycles, treadmills, ellipticals, a recumbent bike, and several resistance training machines. The Courtyard Fitness Center has treadmills, Nusteps, ellipticals, functional weights, and is where classes are held 4-5 times a week. The Aerobic Studio, located in Creekview South, is where the majority of our exercise classes are held. We teach classes that are light and active to improve cardiovascular function, brain health, strength, balance, coordination, range of motion, and much more to keep individuals strong, healthy, and independent.
