It builds on open communication and equipment control standards, supporting multiple instrumentation manufacturers, satellite hub/terminal manufacturers and satellite transmission technologies. The system has been designed for two-way satellite installers as a tool to perform terminal indoor unit configuration, forward link acquisition, and line-up power and cross polarisation isolation adjustment on the return channel. Installers get remote monitoring information via their own satellite operator communication, ensuring support in areas where no other networks are available. The installers' GUI is easyto-use but fully functional, it's claimed, enabling simultaneously local control and of SITs terminals, and remote realtime visualisation of the uplink carrier. To avoid co-ordination with Hub staff, the system includes a server computer and software to interface remote installers to the monitoring instrumentation.
