12 SYSTEM DESIGN & INTEGRATION REFERENCES / OB Truck IN COOPERATION WITH ARD, SONOVTS SUPPLIES DEUTSCHLANDRADIO WITH TWO MEDIUM-SIZED OB TRUCKS IN MAY OF 2016 The range of services included project planning, design, construction, integration, and the commissioning and documentation of two OB Trucks. The project contained sound, control, broadcast-it, mechanics and acoustics, air-conditioning and electronics next to the entire vehicle construction and interior design as well as the spatial concept development with sonovts as the general contractor. We integrated all the devices provided by the customer. Production personnel and system service were professionally trained by sonovts. The project consisted of two medium-sized OB Trucks based on an 18-ton truck (cooperation project with ARD) for premium music transmission in stereo and multichannel sound and for up-to-date coverage of major events. A central part of the project was focusing an on ergonomic operation and an effective system architecture. The customer set value on high-quality and solid design of the works, particularly in interior and furniture. The demand on very high acoustic requirements were also met

13 SYSTEM DESIGN & INTEGRATION REFERENCES / OB Truck rbb SONOVTS DELIVERS BROADCAST COMPANY RBB WITH A NEW HD OB TRUCK IN DECEMBER OF 2015 The HD OB Truck consists of a self-propelled chassis based on the Mercedes Benz Antos with a twelve meter long van body and an extendable side section over the entire body length. An identical chassis was used for the equipment vehicle. The OB Truck accommodates video and sound control and an editing station each designed as a separate work space. The infrastructure (Video, Audio and Control) had to be completely converted for this change. In addition, the broadcasting servers needed to be exchanged for playing HD signals, a project sonovts executed as well. This nearly completed the full conversion of the production processes to HD and ensured that all broadcasts of the Bayerischer Rundfunk are now produced in HD. Contributions to Das Erste HD, 3SAT HD, KiKa HD, Phoenix HD or ARTE HD are fully provided in HD

ORF had six permanent venues connected to the IBC at the 2016 Rio Olympics, which Austria House was also a part of. Additionally, ORF had a studio located at Ipanema Beach that was operated from the IBC via remote production. The connection took place depending on the bandwidth that was available, J2K or H.264.
