1 Elementary Book List Lake Pointe Academy It is the family s responsibility to purchase or otherwise acquire the textbooks and materials not otherwise provided by LPA. The following list by individual course states clearly which are school-provided. Classroom sets, as referred to in this list, are collections of books purchased by LPA for the class to use. These are lent to students to use during a unit of study, and they are expected to be returned at unit s end in similar condition. Students are to practice stewardship in their care of the materials. Families will be charged for unusually worn or damaged materials. On hold A few entries are listed as HOLD: Materials currently being reviewed. For these courses, books and materials are being evaluated. Information will be shared directly with the parents of the registered students as it becomes available. Purchasing notes For acquiring materials, below are some sources which families have found helpful in the past. They have proven to provide good prices, ease of availability, or both. Two ID marks are important to find the exact book: o The ISBN is the book s serial number. o The edition number or letter is also vital, since the 3rd edition can be quite different than the 2nd. Consumable materials must be purchased new. Estimated costs are provided to indicate the approximate price of NEW items. Materials can be found for less, but the estimates help families to avoid paying far too much and/or to avoid purchasing the wrong item. For Shurley Grammar, note that if purchasing the Kit, you will not need to purchase the Student Workbook as well. The workbook, teacher book and CD are all included in the kit. Some items are listed as one per family for at-home use. There is no need to purchase more.
