SC COLLECTION NOTE This collection features information and oral histories gathered from residents of Knott County, Kentucky. From this data, a project summary was compiled that included information about cultural resources within the county. Included in the project summary is a brief county history as well as information about the various informants. Most of the research collected for this project was done by Patrick Carpenter, who acted as Knott County folklorist for twelve weeks while conducting the project. He was assigned to the county as part of a Cultural Economic Initiative grant from the Kentucky Arts Council.
