3 2. If you are not planning to catalog ue your rare materials with RDA, which was the main reason for your decision? 30% Other - Write In 26% My institution is not going to adopt RDA as cataloguing standard 44% My institution has adopted/is going to adopt RDA as cataloguing standard but its development for the cataloguing of rare materials is insufficient My institution is not going to adopt RDA as cataloguing standard 26.2% 6 My institution has adopted/is going to adopt RDA as cataloguing standard but its development for the cataloguing of rare materials is insufficient 44.3% 27 Other - Write In 29.5% 8 T ot als: 6 3
4 Other - Write In Count Although I have answered affirmatively to question number, I also agree with the second option this question Am a rare materials creator, and am interested in collaborating with libraries DCRM gives a more thorough description Does not apply My institution is not going to adopt RDA, at the moment My institution not yet trained in cataloguing rare materials with RDA My parent institution is not a library or education institution and will not make funding available for the change of standard Nofacilities to support the exercise Ours is not a question of lack of will or desire to adopt RDA, it is one of labor and resources RDA as a cataloguing standard for cataloguing rare materials is sufficient RDA is insufficient at present. However, work is being done on this by the RBMS in the US and if that proves a succes we will consider using RDA So much of the cataloguing project was already done without RDA We already use RDA for more modern materials. We continue to use DCRM for older titles. T he outcome of the RBMS efforts to incorporate RDA into DCRM will determine how we go forward. We are waiting for the RBMS policy statements to be finalised. We have no visibility on the time wich we will adopt RDA We use a hybrid approach, predominantly DCRM or AMREMM with fields added to accommodate RDA my institution is intended to use RDA in it's long term plan.
