OBJECTIVE: For the club to promote the development of the talents God has given his people through song and drama. One to two or more Pathfinders per club. PROCEDURE: Each participant should prepare an original song alluding to the title of the camporee, which should fit with the participation of all the clubs that attend the camporee. Each participant will have five minutes time to present their original camporee song. Total possible points for this activity is 200 points. 2 OBJECTIVE: For pathfinders to learn the books of the Bible in order and by category and to find the books rapidly. REQUIREMENT: Friend and Companion Biblical Research Level 1 Four junior (10 12 year old) pathfinders. MATERIALS: Multimedia PowerPoint presentation of the books of the Bible PROCEDURE: Participants must memorize the books of the Bible in order and by category. 1. The goal of this activity is for the team to correctly identify as many of the books of the Bible as they can in 2 minutes. 2. Individual books of the Bible will be presented on a screen. 3. Pathfinder 1 will sit facing away from the screen. The remaining three Pathfinders 2-4 will be seated facing the screen and Pathfinder 1. The order of the seats is important. 4. The book of the Bible will be presented on the screen. The Pathfinder 1 must guess the book of the Bible on the screen based on the clues from the other three pathfinders. 1. The Pathfinder 2 will say the category in which the book of the Bible on the screen belongs. 2. The Pathfinder 3 will say the name of the book of the Bible that comes before the book on the screen. 3. The Pathfinder 4 will say the name of the book of the Bible that comes after the book on the screen. 4. The task is for Pathfinder 1 is to say the name of the book of the Bible that is on the screen. 5. The pathfinders will rotate when one of the following happens: 1. The pathfinder says the correct book of the Bible 2. The pathfinder says the incorrect book of the Bible 3. If one of the members of the group says Pass 4. The judge says change because the answer is incorrect or if the pathfinder takes too long to answer. 3 OBJECTIVE: To achieve unity and teamwork within the teams and their respective clubs. 4 Pathfinders EQUIPMENT: 4-person Tent (1) Club Guidon (1) Club motto/slogan- created by club in advance of the competition PROCEDURE: The 4 Pathfinders will line up at the starting line (10 feet from the tent). At the sound of the whistle, the team will run towards the tent and begin building it. The main tent door must face EAST. Once they finish building the tent, the captain of the team must place the guidon on the left side of the tent, while the rest of the team forms a line parallel to the tent on the right side. Once the team captain finishes placing the guidon on the left side, he/she must line up with the team, at which time they will have to yell out their club motto/slogan. This will signify that they have completed the event and their time will be stopped at this point. Positions will be determined by the time. 4 EQUIPMENT: Five (5) Pathfinders Mandatory One #10 can Knives (2) Hatchets (2) 2 x2 x18 untreated wood Optional Stakes (2) Pole (1) Brick (2) Rack or grill PROCEDURE: The #10 can will be filled to ⅓ capacity before the event begins. At the begin signal: 1. Two Pathfinders carry the wood, bricks, grills, water can, etc. to the Action Line; return to the starting line; and tag the other three Pathfinders. 2. The three Pathfinders run to the Action Line and build the fire using only the wood allowed for the event. 3. When the water starts to boil, the detergent will form suds which will boil over the sides of the can. 4. Time ends when suds boil over. NOTE: a. It is important to teach your Pathfinders to make fuzz sticks. b. The fire may be as large of small as the Pathfinders wish as long as no additional wood is used. c. 5 OBJECTIVE: This event aims to promote teamwork while motivating pathfinders to develop rustic skills through the use of ropes and knots creating a fusion of Indian Drag Race and Trust My Knot events. Eight pathfinders MATERIALS: Clubs must provide the following items: Long Pine boards 2 x2 x8 (2) Short Pine boards 2 x2 x4 (2) Small Poles 2 diameter x 3 feet (2) Large Pole 4 diameter x 3 feet (1) Lashing rope ¼" x 12' cotton cord (8) Lash cords 4 (6) Container for all the materials Bell (provided by the Youth Department) PROCEDURE: The 8 pathfinders will stand in two columns behind the starting line 50 feet from the Station 1 1. At the signal from the judge, Pathfinders 1 and 2 will run to the Station carrying all the required materials. 2. Pathfinders 1 and 2 will join the two long pine board to a small pole using Square Lashing at each end. When they are finished, they will run together, carrying the large pole and ropes, to the Bell Station located 25 feet away and ring the bell. 3. At the sound of the bell, Pathfinders 3 and 4 will go to the Station 1. Pathfinders 1 and 2 will work at the Bell Station while Pathfinders 3 and 4 work at Station 1. They will do the following simultaneously. a. Bell Station i. Pathfinder 1 will tie a Timber Hitch on the large pole. ii. Pathfinder 2 will tie Sheet Bend knot at the end of the rope that Pathfinder 1 tied to the large pole. iii. When Pathfinders 1 and 2 complete their knots, they will return to the starting line. b. Station 1 i. Pathfinders 3 and 4 will join the two long pine board to the other small pole using Square Lashing at each end. ii. When Pathfinders 3 and 4 complete their Square Lashing, they will run to the Bell Station and ring the bell. 4. At the sound of the bell, Pathfinders 5 and 6 will run to Station 1. They will do the following simultaneously. a. Bell Station

6 i. Pathfinder 3 will tie his rope to the end of Pathfinder 2 s rope using a Fisherman Knot. ii. Pathfinder 4 will tie a Sheep Shank in the middle of Pathfinder 3 s rope. b. Station 1 i. Pathfinders 5 and 6 will take one small pine board and tie it to the frame using Diagonal Lashing at each end. ii. When Pathfinders 5 and 6 complete their lashing, they will run to the Bell Station and ring the bell. 5. At the sound of the bell, Pathfinders 7 and 8 will run to Station 1. They will do the following simultaneously. a. Bell Station i. Pathfinder 5 ties a Double Bow Knot to Pathfinder 4 s rope ii. Pathfinder 6 will tie a Stevedore Knot in the middle of Pathfinder 5 s rope. iii. When Pathfinder 5 finishes the double bow know he/she will run back to the Starting Line. iv. When Pathfinder 6 finishes the stevedore knot, he/she will remain at the Bell Station. b. Station 1 i. Pathfinders 7 and 8 will tie Diagonal Lashing to each end of the second short pine board. ii. After tying the diagonal lashing, Pathfinders 7 and 8 will carry the cart to the Bell Station. 6. At the Bell Station, Pathfinder 7 will tie a Bowline Knot around the waist of Pathfinder 6. Pathfinder 8 will take the end of the rope that is around Pathfinder 6 s waist and tie it to the other rope using a Square Knot. 7. Pathfinder 6 will climb onto the cart and Pathfinders 7 and 8 will drag Pathfinder 6 and the cart to the Starting Line. a. If a knot gets untied on the way to the Starting Line, either Pathfinder 7 or 8 may re-tie the knot and continue to the Starting Line. 8. The relay ends when Pathfinders 6, 7 and 8 arrive at the Starting Line with the completed cart. Total possible points for this activity is 100 points. 7 EQUIPMENT: Nine (9) Pathfinders Six (6) Triangular bandages (provided) One (1) stool or chair (provided) PROCEDURE: Before the time begins, the patient (designated by the club) goes to the action line (approximately twenty-five feet from the starting line). 1. One (1) Pathfinder will run to the patient, TIE a TRIANGULAR HEAD BANDAGE, then RUN back to the starting line and tag the next team member; 2. The next Pathfinder will RUN to the patient, TIE a TRIANGULAR CHEST BANDAGE, then RUN back to the starting line and tag the next team member; 3. The next Pathfinder will RUN to the patient, TIE a CRAVAT BANDAGE for the RIGHT LEG, then RUN back to the starting line and tag the next team member; 4. The next Pathfinder will RUN to the patient, TIE a TEMPORARY BANDAGE to support a SPRAINED LEFT ANKLE, then RUN back to the starting line and tag the next team member; 5. The next Pathfinder will RUN to the patient, TIE a SLING for the LEFT ARM, then RUN back to the starting line and tag the next team member; 6. The next Pathfinder will RUN to the patient, USING A CRAVAT BANDAGE TIE a FIGURE-OF-EIGHT for the RIGHT PALM, then RUN back to the starting line and tag the next team member; 7. The next two (2) Pathfinders will RUN to the patient, and by the TWO-MAN CARRY, transport the patient to the finish line. Time begins at the start signal and ends when the patient arrives at the finish line. 5 points 4 minutes 10 additional points 5 minutes 8 additional points 6 minutes 5 additional points 1 point will be deducted for each incorrect bandage and/or improper handling of the patient. 1 st Award points 2 nd Award points 3 rd Award 7-10 points

8 Either the entire club or a special Drill Team may be used, but at least 25% of the Pathfinders present must be on the team. Uniform is not required. EQUIPMENT: None PROCEDURE: Each club must furnish their own Drill Master (a Pathfinder). The Drill Team will come from the starting line to the Judges stand and begin. The Drill master may not be part of the performing Drill Team. The following commands are to be executed in succession one time through before the judge. 9 OBJECTIVE: Pathfinders show their proficiency in identifying the 16 Cardinal Pathfinders EQUIPMENT: Markers Map Index cards with instructions (provided) PROCEDURE: A map will be set about 10 meters away from the starting line. It will contain different landmarks scattered around. Only North will be provided on the map. When it is his/her turn, the Pathfinder will be given a numbered index card with instructions. The Pathfinder will circle his/her answer and write the number of their index card on the location indicated to them. They will then run back to the starting line and tap the next Pathfinder who will receive their index card and do the same. Time will start once the first Pathfinder crosses the starting line, and will end once the last Pathfinder returns to the starting line.
