Distinguish between definite and indefinite articles and their appropriate use; Make contextual use of naming, action, describing and position words with their opposites, as the case maybe Write narratives that recount a well elaborated event or short sequence of events; that includes details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings. 1. 3 MATHEMATICS TERM I Work with four digit numbers Read and write numbers up to 9999 using place value Identify the greater & smaller numbers of two given numbers using place value. Solve daily life problems using addition and subtraction of three digit numbers with or without regrouping Construct and use the multiplication facts(tables) of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 in daily life situations; Explain the meaning of division facts by equal grouping/sharing and find it by repeated subtraction; Identify and make 2D shapes by paper folding, paper cutting on the dot grid, using straight lines etc.; Describe 2D shapes by counting their sides, corners and diagonals; Identify 3D shapes and describe by counting their faces, edges and corners. 1. Convert 12 hr clock time into 24 hr clock time and vice versa. Convert days to hours and hours to minutes. Acquire understanding of Data Handling; Record data using tally marks, represent it pictorially and draw conclusions. 4 TERM I GENERAL SCIENCE Enlist living and non-living things seen in the surroundings; Describe features of living/non-living things in their own words; Cite examples of living/non-living things based on observations Identify different parts and sub-parts of a plant and label them; Distinguish different kinds of seeds (gram, green pea) seen at home/in the kitchen; Explain functions of each part of a plant in their own words; Identify plants as herbs, shrubs, trees and climbers and give examples of each; Enlist leaves, seeds, fruits, flowers and roots of plants used in and as food items; Enlist some medicinal seeds, leaves, buds etc., and name the plants; Recognize and name common birds seen in the surroundings; Discuss and describe food habits of some common birds (in their own words); Identify different properties of water. Classify materials based on solubility in water (soluble and insoluble in water); Classify objects that float/sink in water Explain the water cycle (as seen in daily life) in their own words Explain ways of water purification used at home/school.
