3 Somo la 1 Siri ya Mama Neema na Yusufu wakaoana, na baadaye wakapata mtoto. Siku moja familia yao kubwa ilikusanyika chini ya mti alioupenda sana Neema. Nilipenda kukaa hapa na kuzungumza na mama, alisema Neema. Tabu, aliyekuwa mdogo sana wakati wazazi wake wanafariki akasema, Nimewakosa baba na mama, lakini nafikiri wangelijivunia sisi muda huu. 42 3

4 Siku moja Neema alikuwa ameketi chini ya mti akisoma kitabu. Mdogo wake aitwaye Upendo alikuwa akikimbia akimwita, Neema, Neema! Nimesikia wanawake fulani wakisema, mama anayo siri! Itakuwa siri gani? Neema akasema, Nami nimesikia maneno hayo, nafikiri ninaijua siri hiyo mdogo wangu. Tena akasema, Tukimbie twende kwa mama tukamuulize. Neema na Yusufu walisaidia kuwaalika watu kuja kwenye semina na kuhakikisha wawezeshaji wanapata mahitaji yao. Walifanya juhudi kuwaalika wavulana. Baadhi ya wavulana wanafikiri kwamba kuwa mwanaume kamili, lazima wafanye mapenzi. Yusufu akawaambia wavulana kwamba yeye na Neema wameahidi kuwa hawatafanya mapenzi mpaka pale watakapooana na kuwa waaminifu kwa kila mmoja wao. 4 41

5 Ana akaanza kuchora picha na kutafsiri masomo kwa lugha yake, ili wawezeshaji watumie kuwafundishia watu kwenye semina. Alitengeneza vijitabu kwa lugha yake vilivyohusu jinsi ya kujikinga na maambukizi ya virusi vya UKIMWI na pia vilihusu jinsi gani ya kuwatunza watu walioathirika na UKIMWI. Neema na Upendo walifika nyumbani wakipiga kelele na kuhema sana. Ndipo Ana, Tabu na kaka yao Petro wakafika wakakusanyika mbele yao ili waone kitu gani kimewafurahisha. Mama yao akawaambia, Nyamazeni ili baba yenu apate muda wa kulala. Akaenda nao mbali kidogo. Upendo akamwuliza mama, Je unayo siri? Mama akashika tumbo lake akajibu akasema, Familia yetu inaongezeka kuwa kubwa zaidi. 40 5

6 Kisha Tabu aliyekuwa na miaka minne akasema, Ninakwenda kumwambia baba. Kabla hajafika mlangoni mama akamshika akamwambia Tabu, Mwache baba yako apumzike kwa sababu anaijua siri. Tabu hakupenda hali hiyo. Alipenda sana kucheza na baba yake kama ilivyokuwa kawaida yake. Na kwa wakati huo hakuruhusiwa kwenda karibu na baba yake, ambaye muda wote alikuwa akilala, na hafanyi kazi yoyote. Baba alikuwa mnyonge, dhaifu na aliyekonda sana. Familia yote ilimjali sana baba yao. Upendo akaanza mara moja kufundisha semina. Kwa nguvu zake na ucheshi wake aliwafanya watu wamsikilize kwa bidii kuhusu madhara ya UKIMWI. Kwa muda mfupi akawa mwezeshaji mzuri katika jamii yake na watu wengi wakawa wanahudhuria semina zake. 6 39

7 Mmoja wa waandaaji wa kongamano hilo alimkaribia Neema, akamwambia, Tunataka wewe, Upendo na Ana muwasaidie watu kuwafundisha jinsi ya kujikinga na UKIMWI. Kwa sababu ninyi mna uzoefu na mnajua umuhimu wa kujikinga na maambukizi ya UKIMWI kuliko mtu mwingine awaye yote. Tena wote mnasoma vizuri sana. Hata watu wanajua kuwa mnajua vizuri ukweli kuhusu virusi vya UKIMWI. Wote wakakubali kwa furaha sana. 38 Siku moja Neema alikuwa sokoni, akamwambia rafiki yake kuwa mama yake anatarajia kupata mtoto. Ndipo mvulana mmoja aliyekuwa anapita pale aliposikia akamdhihaki Neema akisema, Inawezekana mtoto akazaliwa na virusi vya UKIMWI kwa sababu baba yake ana UKIMWI. Neema alikuwa hajui yule mvulana anamaanisha nini. Ndipo Neema akajifikiria akasema, Hakika baba hana UKIMWI au inawezekana anao? Marafiki zake Neema wakamtia moyo wakisema, Usimsikilize mvulana huyo. 7

8 Ilipofika jioni Neema akamwuliza mama yake akasema, Je baba ana virusi vya UKIMWI? Naomba unieleze mama, mimi ni mtu mkubwa sasa ni lazima nijue. Mama akatazama upande mwingine. Neema akamtazama mamaye akamwona analia. Mama akamjibu Neema akisema, Ndiyo. Samahani mwanangu kwa sababu umesikia habari hizi kwa watu wengine kwanza. Je, tutafanya nini baba akifa? Neema aliuliza Na mahitaji yetu tutapata wapi? Mama akamjibu Neema akasema, Mungu atatusaidia. Ndipo wakalia pamoja kwa kitambo. 8 Mara baada ya hayo, kanisa lilifanya kongamano kuhusu njia za kujikinga na ugonjwa wa UKIMWI. Wawezeshaji na wanaojifunza walikuja kutoka maeneo yote. Neema, Upendo na Ana walihudhuria. Walimleta hata kaka yao Petro. Na Yusufu naye alihudhuria pia. 37

9 Siku moja, baada ya mwaka kupita, Neema alimwambia Yusufu akasema, Watu wa kanisa wametusaidia kwa kiwango kikubwa sana! Wametupa shamba lao, nasi tumepanda mazao. Wametufundisha kuwa na maisha mazuri, na wamekuwa marafiki kwa njia nyingi sana. Je, tutawalipa nini kwa yote hayo mazuri waliyotufanyia? Baba yake Neema alikufa kabla ya majira ya mvua kuanza. Rafiki na ndugu wengine walikuja kuomboleza nyumbani kwao. Neema alikuwa anajiuliza kuwa, Kwa nini wanakuja sasa kututembelea hali wakati baba alikuwa mgonjwa na mpweke sana hawakuonekana? Kiongozi wa kanisa tu ndiye alikuwa anaonekana hapa, alionyesha wema. 36 9

10 Somo la 5 Jamii ya Akina Neema Yajifunza Kuhusu UKIMWI Baada ya msiba kuisha, siku moja Neema na mama yake walikuwa wanaokota kuni porini. Neema akamshika mama yake mkono, wakakaa chini ya mti wakapumzika kwa kitambo. Hali ya mama yake ilikuwa ya udhaifu sana na alionyesha kupumua kwa shida. Mama akamwambia, Binti yangu Neema mimi siwezi kufanya kazi yoyote na kwa wakati wowote

11 Somo la 2 Matatizo Yanaongezeka katika Familia ya Neema Neema alikuwa na furaha kwa vile Yusufu alimsaidia mara kwa mara kufanya kazi shambani wakati watoto wanacheza pamoja. Neema akamwambia Yusufu, Wakati wazazi wangu wamefariki, nilifikiria kuwa familia yetu ingekufa pia. Maisha bado ni magumu, lakini sasa tuna matumaini ya baadaye

12 Neema na mama yake walikuwa wameketi chini ya mti, mama yake alikuwa dhaifu na mgonjwa sana, ilimbidi Neema amsaidie kumnyanyua. Neema na familia nzima, hata Tabu, walifanya kazi katika shamba lao jipya walilopewa na kanisa. Upendo na Ana walijifunza kushona, kanisa liliwaruhusu kutumia vyerahani. Petro alijifunza kazi ya useremala kwenye kituo cha kanisa. Neema akaanza kwenda kwenye mikutano ya kanisa na wadogo zake. Mara wote wakaamua kuchagua njia mpya ya kuishi, jinsi walivyojifunza kanisani

13 Siku moja yule ndugu yao alituma ujumbe kwa Neema. Akasema kwamba sasa ni wakati mwafaka wa Neema na wadogo zake kuondoka katika nyumba ya baba yao na kuacha hata shamba. Neema na wadogo zake wakahuzunika sana. Mwanamke mmoja kutoka kanisani aliwakaribisha kuja nyumbani kwake, wakaanza kuishi pale. Na alikuwa anawasaidia hata kipindi mama yao alipokuwa mgonjwa. Alikuwa anaishi karibu na kanisa na lile shamba pia. Watoto wakaondoka kwenda kuishi naye, na ndugu yao akachukua nyumba na shamba lao. 32 Baba yake Neema alifariki, na mama yake mjamzito alikuwa dhaifu sana, Neema pamoja na wadogo zake ilibidi waongeze bidii katika kazi zao za nyumbani. Neema alikuwa anawakaripia wadogo zake, wakati akifikiria kuwa hawafanyi kazi kwa bidii kama inavyotakiwa. Hivyo mama yake akamgombeza akisema, Mimi ningali bado mama wa familia hii. 13

14 Ndipo wanawake wawili kutoka kanisani wakafika nyumbani kwao kuwatembelea. Moja wao alikuwa mfanya kazi wa idara ya afya, na mwingine alikuwa msimuliaji hodari wa hadithi. Walifanya kazi nyingi za akina mama. Walikuwa wanaleta chakula. Walianza kufika mara kwa mara. Walikuwa wakisimulia hadithi. Neema alifurahi sana alipoona mama yake akicheka mara kwa mara. Baada ya wadogo zake kurudi na kumweleza kuhusu shamba la jumuiya ya kanisa, Neema akaamua kujihusisha. Viongozi wa kanisa waliwaruhusu kulima sehemu kubwa ya shamba, na waliruhusiwa kutunza chakula au kuuza sokoni pale inapobidi. Ndipo wakaanza kufanya kazi kwa bidii sana, maisha yao yakawa bora kuliko yalivyokuwa mwanzoni. Upendo aliweza kurudi tena shuleni, akaendelea na masomo

15 Yusufu aliendelea kumwomba Neema mpaka siku moja Ana mdogo wake neema alisema, Nami leo nitakwenda kanisani. Labda ninaweza kujifunza kitu chochote. Naye Upendo alisema, Nami leo nitakwenda pia. Labda nitapata marafiki wengine. Ndipo Neema akasema, Wachukue Tabu na Yatima muondoke nao. Petro na mimi tutakaa hapa nyumbani kufanya kazi zilizosalia. 30 Neema alimsikia mhudumu wa afya akizungumza na mama yake. Lakini hakuelewa vizuri kila kitu kilichokuwa kinaongelewa, ndipo akajifunza kwamba baba yake hakuwa mwaminifu kwa mama yake. Labda baba aliambukizwa virusi vya UKIMWI na mwanamke mwingine. Baba hakuelewa kwamba ana virusi vya UKIMWI. Kwa hiyo hakufanya kitu chochote kumlinda mama. Inawezekana mama aliambukizwa na baba virusi vya UKIMWI, na mtoto naye angeweza kuambukizwa virusi vya UKIMWI kutoka kwa mama. Lazima ufike kliniki kupima kama una virusi vya UKIMWI, Mhudumu wa afya alimwambia mama. 15

16 Mama alikwenda kliniki. Muuguzi alichukua damu kutoka mkononi mwa mama. Hakujisikia maumivu, muda si mrefu mama akapata matokeo ya kipimo cha damu yake. Siku iliyofuata mama alimwambia Neema habari za kusikitisha. Mama alikuwa ameambukizwa na virusi vya UKIMWI. Mtoto angeweza kuwa ameambukizwa pia. Baadaye kule kliniki, mhudumu alimpa mama yake Neema madawa ya kutibu magonjwa nyemelezi ambayo yanasaidia kuwapatia nguvu watu wenye virusi vya UKIMWI. Lakini madawa ya kupunguza makali ya virusi vya UKIMWI yalikuwa hayapatikani katika jamii yao. Mama alikuwa na wasiwasi kuhusu mtoto wake, kuwa ni wapi angeweza kupata madawa yanayohitajika kuzuia maambukizi ya virusi vya UKIMWI kwa mtoto atakayezaliwa. 16 Mvulana mmoja kutoka kijijini kwao jina lake aliitwa Yusufu, mara nyingi alikuwa anamtembelea Neema. Alikuwa anakwenda na mdogo wake mchanga, alikuwa anamwambia Neema, Twende wote kanisani. Siyo muda huu, Neema alikuwa anamjibu yule mvulana hivi, Nina kazi nyingi sana za kufanya. 29

17 Neema na wadogo zake walipita katika kipindi kigumu sana. Wazazi wao walikufa kwa UKIMWI, na kuwatunza wadogo zake wote ilikuwa ni kazi ngumu kwake. Mara nyingi walishinda na njaa, lakini Neema alifanya kazi ngumu sana kwa ajili yao, na alijaribu kuwa kama mama kwa Yatima. 28 Hali ya mama ikazidi kuwa mbaya sana. Maambukizi ya Virusi vya UKIMWI yakaongezeka na muda mfupi mama akawa na UKIMWI. Alikuwa na vidonda vingi katika mwili wake. Neema akawauliza wale wanawake waliotoka kanisani, Je, ninaweza kupata maambukizi ya Virusi vya UKIMWI nikimgusa mama? Yule mhudumu wa afya akamjibu, Huwezi kupata, kama utakuwa mwangalifu. Akamfundisha Neema njia bora na salama kabisa za kumhudumia mama na kumfundisha vyakula bora vya kumpa mama yake. Neema akahakikishiwa kabisa usalama kuwa hawezi kuathirika akimhudumia mama yake. 17

18 Somo la 4 Neema Anapata Matumaini Mtoto alipozaliwa. Mama akawa dhaifu sana. Akamshika mtoto na kulia akisema, Yatima. Mama akafariki baada ya siku chache na Neema akamwita mtoto jina lake Yatima. Neema akampakata mtoto mkononi mwake na kukaa chini ya mti akasema. Sitakuacha kuwa yatima, utakuwa mtoto wangu sasa

19 Somo la 3 Familia ya Neema Yakabiliwa na hatari. Upendo akawa na wasiwasi kuwa mwanaume aliyempa bangili alikuwa anajaribu kutaka kufanya mapenzi naye. Neema, Upendo na Ana wakaahidi kutofanya mapenzi mpaka watakapoolewa

20 Neema alikaa chini ya mti akimlisha mdogo wake Yatima. Alitamani mtu angelimnyonyesha mtoto, lakini kwa kuwa mama alikufa kwa UKIMWI, watu waliogopa kumnyonyesha kwa hofu ya kuambukizwa Virusi Vya UKIMWI kutoka kwa yule mtoto. Kanisa lilimsaidia Neema kwa kumpa mtoto maziwa na maji safi. Neema alifurahi sana kuona Yatima anaendelea vizuri. 20 Mhudumu wa kituo cha afya akawaambia mtoto anaendelea vizuri. Lakini mnatakiwa kusubiri kwa muda wa miezi kadhaa kabla hajapimwa kama ana virusi vya UKIMWI ama hana. Ndipo akawaeleza Neema na Upendo mambo muhimu waliyopaswa kuyafahamu yahusuyo wasichana na wavulana wa rika lao, akawaambia, Kwa kuwa ninyi ni yatima, kuna wanaume ambao watajaribu kuwapa ninyi chakula na zawadi ili kuwashawishi mfanye nao mapenzi, msidanganyike. Mnaweza kupata Mimba au UKIMWI ama magonjwa mengine ya zinaa yanayosababishwa na kufanya ngono. 25

21 Asubuhi moja Neema na Upendo walikuwa wakimpeleka mtoto kliniki kwa ajili ya kupimwa. Upendo akanyosha kidole kwa mwanamume mmoja aliyekuwa karibu na soko akasema, Yule ni mwanaume aliyenipa bangili hii. Huenda akatusaidia katika maisha yetu. 24 Mdogo wa kiume wa Neema aitwaye Petro akaja na akamwambia, Nataka kuacha shule kama mlivyoacha wewe na Upendo. Neema akamjibu, Hapana unatakiwa kumaliza shule kwanza. Ndipo unaweza kutusaidia sisi wote, Halafu inawezekana Upendo akarudi tena shuleni. Tena uwapo shuleni jiangalie usishirikiane na wavulana ambao wanatafuta wasichana wafanye nao mapenzi. Unaweza kuambukizwa Virusi vya UKIMWI na magonjwa mengine ya zinaa na wasichana hao. Pia ni muhimu usijidunge sindano za madawa ya kulevya unaweza kupata virusi vya UKIMWI kwa kuchangia sindano. Petro akasema kwamba atasoma kwa bidii. Akaahidi kwamba hawezi kutafuta wasichana wala kujidunga sindano. 21

22 Siku moja ndugu yao Neema akawatambelea, akamwambia Neema akisema, Kwa mila zetu ardhi hii ni mali yangu kwa kuwa baba yenu amekufa. Neema akalia akisema, Lakini hatuna mahali pengine pa kwenda. Ndiyo, lakini hilo mimi halinihusu! akasema ndugu yao. Na baadaye nitaitaka nyumba. Lakini muda huu ninataka nusu ya mazao mliyopanda. Jioni hiyo Ana akamuuliza Neema, Je, itabidi tuondoke? Neema akajibu, Hapana, ndugu yetu amesema tunaweza kubaki kwa muda. Lakini inabidi tumpe nusu ya mazao yetu. Hivyo tutabaki na chakula ambacho hakitatutosha, akalia Ana. Tunatakiwa kufanya kitu kingine ili tuweze kupata chakula cha kutosha na kukidhi mahitaji yetu mengine! 22 23
