After finding that his alternate self is cheating on the perfect version of his wife, he decides to take the life he always deserved. 4 The Story Struggling filmmaker JAKE sees a glitch in one of his video files. When he projects it onto his wall it turns into a mysterious portal that leads to an ALTERNATE WORLD where all of his dreams have come true. CONCEPT ART The only problem? There s an ALTERNATE JAKE living in this world and only one of them can have the PERFECT LIFE. THE ALTERNATE is about the privileged culture we live in now, where everyone thinks they deserve their dreams, even if they don t work for them.

5 The Look Sci-Fi films of the 1980s were stylized and cinematic, but they also captured the world as it was and turned it on its side. They have a distinct yet matter of fact look to them, keeping the world believable while the most unbelievable things are happening and that s what we want for the universe we are creating for The Alternate. Some classic films that capture this look are The Dead Zone, The Hidden and The Terminator as well as contemporary films like Ex Machina, Enemy and the Netflix series Stranger Things. The Alternate will be intense, teasing the audience without being gratuitous but when the violence does happen, it will be BRUTAL.

Jeff has produced over a dozen movies including the critically acclaimed family comedy, Ping Pong Summer (2014) which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, Holy Ghost People (2013) which premiered at SXSW and The Night Watchmen (2017) starring legendary character actor, James Remar. Jason Joseffer is a San Francisco based cinematographer working around the world in narrative and documentary film, music videos and commercials. Executive Producer marcella cortland Coming from a career in med-tech startups, Marcella started her life as a filmmaker in October of 2014, with her first role as talent in a short film starring James Hong (Blade Runner). Since then Marcella has worked on 14 short films and 3 feature films either as executive producer, producer or talent. As an actor she has done shoots for Charles Schwab, Pier 39 and the TV series, Chance (2017) with Hugh Laurie. Marcella helps host the San Jose International Short Film Festival, held every year at Santana Row. She just completed a thriller screenplay which won second place in the Mammoth Screenplay Competition. CinematogrApher JAson joseffer In 2010 he shot his first feature film, Coldwood (2012), directed by Justin Baird on location in Alaska. Next he shot the documentary, A Soapbox in Haiti (2012) profiling Haitian activists in the wake of the tragic earthquake. Jason s commercial work includes national campaigns and the web series 100 Years of Fashion, which Variety Magazine praised for its 270 million views...making it the most watched fashion series ever.

Graduating from the ENS Louis Lumière in 2009, Delphine has worked on countless short films and six feature length films, including #EuroTrip (2018), Open at Night (2016) and Opium (2013) which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in She also composed the music for several short films and the feature film Nazar Palumus (2016). Currently Delphine is working on the American television series, Riviera (2017- ) and composing music for various film projects.

Whoever plays Jake needs to cover these two halves of the coin as well as convey Jake s subtle transformation into a person the audience doesn t recognize. We are shooting for the stars with Anthony Mackie (Avengers: Infinity War), Ben Foster (Hell or High Water), Diego Luna (Star Wars: Rouge One) and Karl Urban (Thor: Ragnarok) all well known actors who would make Jake/Alt- Jake a tour de force pair of characters. Two other great choices are muscians turned actors Ludacris (Fast & The Furious, Crash) and Tyrese Gbison (Fast & The Furious, Transformers) who would both bring very interesting takes on both Jake s.

9 kris/alt-kris concept Art Just like the male lead, the role of Kris/Alt-Kris is going to provide an exciting challenge for the right actor. Kris needs to be beaten down, tired and fed up with Jake and his inability to move on from his failing film career while Alt-Kris is powerful, confident and living her dream as a frame designer and mother. For this role we will start by approaching stars such as, Amy Smart (Justified), Thandie Newton (Westworld), Rosario Dawson (Sin City, Top Five) and Kerry Washington (Scandal, Django Unchained) who would each bring their own unique style to the roles. Well known comedic actors Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development) and Judy Greer (Ant-Man), both experienced in drama as well as comedy, would bring a different spin to the two characters.
