1 Composer s Notes As a practicing church musician I am very aare o the ine line a director has to alk in order to alance the musical expectations o the Advent/Christmas season ith the time constraints or preparation My hope is that Holy Light ill oer an opportunity to honor oth realities enaling the choir(s) to oer the proclamation o God s nes to orthy music that does not overhelm the perorming orces ith musical demands One ill note the ord lexiility oered in several places associated ith this ork Ideas are also suggested to encourage creativity ut don t limit the creative options to the printed suggestions or each context ill have varying resources that another might not or instance some handell ringers may eel comortale memorizing the irst portion o Let All Mortal lesh Keep Silence in order to process ith the vocal choir(s) hile others on t Some orship spaces may oer possiilities that others don t Some may have the onderul opportunity to include the Children s Choir ith the Adult Choir on the melody line o Break orth O Beauteous Heavenly Light The children might also participate ith the choir and congregation on the rerains o several hymns (Ho exciting to encourage children to e ull participants in the proclamation!)
