Students ehease and pefom alongside thei teaches and eceive an abundance of pesonal attention. In such a nutuing envionment, students develop excellent pactice habits and eheasal skills. Six public pefomances of fou diffeent ochestal pogams ae given ove the two-week session. Aeas of Study Repetoie Standad ochestal liteatue is eheased and pefomed Repetoie will be updated as it becomes available. Repetoie fo 2015 included Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Majo, Op. 55 ( Eoica ); Segei Pokofiev: Romeo and Juliet, Fist Suite, Op. 64-bis; and Richad Stauss: Also spach Zaathusta, Op. 30. Additional epetoie will be posted on the Bich Ceek website when confimed. Suggested playing level is included on page 4 of this packet and is also listed on the website. Ochesta Reheasals 2-4 hous daily depending on pefomance schedule and epetoie Sectionals 1 hou daily. 2 REVIEW BEGINS APPLICATION REVIEW BEGINS: ADMISSION PROCEDURE FEBRUARY 1 SYMPHONY Applications will be accepted thoughout the sping; howeve, scholaships will be assigned on a fist-come, fistseved basis. Apply ealy, as many instument positions fill quickly. If an instument position is filled, you will be placed on a waiting list cancellations do occu. APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED UNTIL ALL MATERIALS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED. CHECKLIST FOR APPLICANTS To ensue a completed application, please see the following items at bichceek.og/academy: 1. ADMISSION APPLICATION 2. APPLICANT RECOMMENDATION FORM I have given the fom to my instucto to etun diectly to Bich Ceek eithe online o by mail. I am a etuning Symphony session student and am theefoe exempt. Note: Applicant is esponsible fo veifying with thei instucto that this fom has been submitted. 3. $100 DEPOSIT - efunded if not accepted to the pogam. 4. SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION ONLINE with $100 DEPOSIT. 5. At Bich Ceek, we believe so stongly in the impotance of music education that EVERY student automatically eceives Play It Fowad Pogam Suppot of $2,785 towad thei tuition of $4,885. TUITION AND FEES We want to ensue that ou tuition fees ae affodable to most families and that we ae able to aise additional donations to help those fo whom even ou subsidized tuition is a challenge. Tuition: $4,885 Play It Fowad Pogam Suppot (available to all students): $2,785 Student/family s cost: $2,100 Additional Scholaship Assistance Fo some families, even this geneous Play It Fowad Pogam Suppot might not be enough. Thus, Bich Ceek has additional assistance available to ou students based on financial need, atistic meit, and instuments needed in each session. Fist, the initial student application equiements must be met befoe a Scholaship Application can be consideed. Once accepted, a student may then submit a Scholaship Application (available at bichceek.og/academy) Additional scholaship assistance is awaded on a fist-come, fist-seved basis. APPLICATION FEE AND TUITION PAYMENTS A $100 application fee is due at the time of application. If a student is accepted, this $100 application fee is applied to the student s account as a cedit. If a student is not accepted, the $100 application fee is efunded. A deposit of $600 is due within 30 days of acceptance, and the $100 application fee is consideed a payment towad this amount. Deposit: $600 Minus the Application Fee Cedit: -$100 Deposit due within 30 days: $500 The balance is due 30 days befoe the stat of you session. 2

3 All Symphony session applicants (new and etuning, with the exception of Bich Ceek awad winnes fom 2015) must submit an AUDIO OR VIDEO AUDITION RECORDING online o by mail (CD o DVD) o schedule a live audition with the appopiate Bich Ceek faculty membe. Recoding with an accompanist is pefeed, but not equied. The audition must include: two scales (one majo, one mino) showing you full ange, AND two contasting pieces o contasting movements (fast and slow, o contasting styles) lasting about two minutes each. Demonstation of ochestal excepts is also pefeed. Please see "Suggested Symphony Repetoie Levels" on page 4. AUDITION RECORDING Recoding Guidelines 1. SELECT YOUR MUSIC Select the music accoding to the epetoie equiements above fo you session. Choose epetoie that is well within you gasp and that you know you can play well. Make sue the musical focus is diectly on you. 3. RECORD YOUR AUDITION Watch and listen to you ecoding. Keep the ecoding pocess simple. If you ae not satisfied, you might conside ecoding two o thee diffeent days; then listen to all the ecodings, and submit the best one. 4. SUBMIT YOUR AUDITION RECORDING UPLOAD OPTION If you have you audition posted online (YouTube, Soundcloud, etc.) you may send a link to egista@bichceek.og. Please include you name, session, and instument within the . You can you audition files as an attachment to bichceekauditions@sendtodopbox.com Please include you name, session, and instument in the subject of the . If you know one of the Symphony faculty membes, you can schedule a live audition with them. POSTAL MAIL OPTION Mail us a CD/DVD to the addess below. POLICIES REFUND POLICY All equests to cancel enollment must be made in witing. If cancellation is eceived 30 days pio to the stat of the session, all money except the $100 pocessing fee will be efunded. Any cancellation made fewe than 30 days pio to the session will esult in fofeitue of all money paid. If a student leaves duing a session because of an illness o documented family emegency, a poated efund will be given. If a student leaves fo othe easons, the balance will not be efunded. Symphony session Sting applicants Bich Ceek Summe 2016 Suggested Symphony Repetoie Levels These epetoie levels ae included to give Symphony session applicants an idea of the level of liteatue they should be playing to be comfotable meeting the demands of the Bich Ceek schedule and pefomance epetoie. Applicants ae not equied to include these mateials on thei audition ecodings. Violin I: at o above the level of a Mozat conceto o the Mendelssohn Conceto in e mino. Violin II: at o above the level of the Handel sonatas o the Viotti Conceto No. 23. Violas: at o above the level of the Handel Conceto in b mino; students have auditioned with the Hoffmeiste Conceto in D Majo, Hindemith s Tauemusik, o Stamitz Conceto in D Majo. Cellos: at o above the level of the Saint-Saëns Conceto in a mino o the Haydn Conceto in C Majo. Basses: at o above the level of Die Meistesinge (solo a. Isaac), the Macello sonatas, o the Capuzzi Conceto. Symphony session Wind applicants Flute: at o above the level of the Bach sonatas, Mozat concetos, o Faué Fantasie. Oboe: at o above the level of the Telemann o Handel sonatas, Mozat Oboe Quatet, Mozat Oboe Conceto o simila level pieces. Clainet: at o above the level of Rabaud Solo de Concous, o Finzi The Five Bagatelles; students have auditioned with Webe s Concetino and Concetos No. 1 and 2 and the Mozat Conceto. Bassoon: at o above the level of the Mozat Conceto, Webe Conceto o Andante and Hungaian Rondo, Fasch Sonata in C and Vivaldi Conceto. Symphony session Bass applicants Hon: at o above the level of the Mozat Conceto No. 3 (Mvt. I), o the Coelli Sonata in F Majo (Mvt. I); students have auditioned with the Stauss Conceto No. 1 (Mvt. I), o the Saint-Saëns Concet Piece (Mvt. I). Tumpet: at o above the level of Balay Andante and Allegetto o the Baat Fantasie en mi bemol; students have auditioned with Mvt. I of the Haydn o Hummel Concetos and the Autunian Conceto.
