Our low-cost Performance Training Institute is just one of several ways that Stagebridge carries out our nonprofit mission to transform the lives of older adults and their communities through the performing arts. One of the other ways we serve the community is through Storybridge. Since 1980, Stagebridge has been serving Title I elementary school students in the East Bay Area with Storybridge, our evidence-based, intergenerational literacy improvement program. We bring elders trained in storytelling into classrooms to help at-risk students develop listening and language skills. In addition to preparing them for success in the schools, Storybridge gives children a chance to experience empowering intergenerational relationships while building their language skills and self-confidence.
