3 10 Martin Pymm Mr. MacAfee is Martin s second musical with Alexander Mackenzie. Martin is heavily involved in music at school; he was a part of last year s Beauty and the Beast, is a member of music council, and is in the Arts program for vocal music. He believes that this dedication stems from his passion for musical theatre. Martin s favourite part of our musical is when he bickers with is son Randolph, and it ends in you shut up!. Caitlin Sammut Teenage Ensemble Caitlin has been in three other musicals, including Fame and You re a Good Man Charlie Brown. Her favorite part of the musical is when she goes across the stage in a wheel chair. Caitlin took this course to get a better understanding of the process that a musical undergoes before the curtain goes up. Sabrina Shallop Rosie Alvarez / Teenage Ensemble This is Sabrina s first time taking part in the musical at Alexander Mackenzie High School. With little previous experience, she is extremely excited to take on her role as Rosie. She believes that this may seem like a small step to others, but it s truly a giant leap for her believing in herself. Sabrina adores making herself and others proud of what she achieves by doing the things she loves, like musical theatre. She would like to thank her teachers, and all her classmates, because one day she will look back on this show as one of the most special performances, and any alterations would change the beautiful memory it has become. Amy Silver Mrs. Peterson / Adult Ensemble For Amy, musical theatre is an excuse to sing. She doesn t want to be a professional vocalist, so being in shows is an excellent reason to get under those stage lights! Her previous credits include Aladdin, Man of La Mancha, The Magician s Nephew, Wizard of Oz, West Side Story, The Pajama Game, Oliver! and Beauty and the Beast. Nako Tomiya Teenage Ensemble is Nako s first first musical, and she is finding the entire process very interesting. From learning more about dance to making new friends, Nako has enjoyed the whole rehearsal process. Her favourite number in the show is Telephone Hour and she hopes that the energy that the cast puts into it is contagious! Nako thanks everyone for coming and hopes that you enjoy the show! Abby Weisbrot Rosie Alvarez / Teenage Ensemble This is Abby s first year taking part in musical theatre at Alexander Mackenzie High School and she is ecstatic to be playing the role of Rosie. Abby has been involved in numerous other productions, including: Oklahoma as Ado Annie, Seussical as Sour Kangaroo, Beauty and The Beast as Belle, Once Upon a Mattress, Annie as Annie, Lost in Yonkers as Bella, and This Is a Play as Older Female Actor. Abby is very passionate about the performing arts and loves coming to class each day being able to do just that! She has learned so much from her teachers and classmates, and is extremely grateful for all the wonderful friends she has made. Abby thanks everyone in the cast for being so supportive throughout this whole process; the memories she has made this year will stay with her forever. His favourite songs in the musical are Baby Talk To Me and Rosie as he really enjoys the harmonies throughout. Jimmy will never forget all the rehearsals with the quartet. Sean Nicholas Conrad Birdie / Adult Ensemble Sean joined the musical theatre production because he loves both music and drama. He is an avid singer, but his greatest challenge was learning how to dance. Sean has performed previously in a musical production of Hansel and Gretel. Sean s favourite part of being in this production was the people he got to work with and the overall energy of the class. Sean enjoys musical theatre as a hobby but aspires seek his thrills as a jet pilot with the Royal Canadian Air Force, which is sort of the opposite of his character Conrad Birdie... Yasaman Nouri Randolph MacAfee / Alice Yasaman lives to be in the spotlight. The thrill of performing for an audience, the craziness before opening night, and the tears after the last show all contribute to Yasaman s dream of being an actor. Being a part of Alexander Mackenzie High School s Dramatic Arts Program has opened many opportunities for her. Yasaman s previous credits include Subtext: An Always Monday High School Production, Magician s Nephew, Aladdin, You re A Good Man Charlie Brown, and Beauty and The Beast. She is currently working with, and is performing in, a Modern Times Stage Company production. Yasaman is delighted to be in her second high school production and has had countless unforgettable moments with the cast and crew. Jessie Orrett Deborah Sue Jessie is in the Instrumental Arts program at AMHS, but her love of musical theatre is what got her to take the course. She has been in a few other productions, including Hairspray as Amber, and is very excited to be in this year s production of. Jessie loves preforming the Put On A Happy Face dance every single time, and doesn t think anyone in the cast will let her forget when her shoe flew off during that number at Showcase! She would like to thank her parents for driving her to all the early Saturday morning rehearsals, for being such a great support system, and her sisters for always believing in her. Katie Orrett Helen Katie is estatic to be apart of the musical theatre program! She has been singing all her life, and is a part of the Vocal Arts Program at AMHS. Katie has been in six other shows, including Hairspray, Romeo and Juliet, and three musical revues with the Children s Theatre Project. She also took dance lessons for four years. Katie took the course because she has loved performing her entire life, and hopes to make it a career. To Katie, nothing beats the energy when the cast performs on stage. Soeun Park Teenage Ensemble Souen loves all aspects of musical theatre, including the off stage duties! She learned all about dancing and how a close group can band together and form a team. Soeun s favourite memories from this class are definitely made up of the comical moments that filled the Kettleby retreat and the Saturday rehearsals. Her favourite songs from the show are Spanish Rose and Put on Happy Face. Soeun wants to send out a special thank you to Ms. Alexander and Ms. Headon for teaching and leading the group throughout the entire rehearsal process. 9

Matt aspires to be an actor, and he acts primarily because it is a passion. He also thrives on the adrenaline rush he gets from performing. Outside of acting, Matt is an acrobat and a drummer. He would like to thank everyone who provided this amazing opportunity and will always remember the humorous, great times. Iona McMahon Suzie Iona is very excited to perform in this year! This is her first year both in the musical and at AMHS, and she has already made so many great friends and memories. Her past credits include You re a Good Man Charlie Brown, and Aladdin. Kya Mosey Kim MacAfee Kya is no stranger to the stage. In the pursuit of becoming an actor, Kya has been a part of shows including Peter Pan, Wizard of Oz, and Beauty and the Beast, as well as plays for the Sears Festival and numerous church productions. As a member of Alexander Mackenzie High School s Dramatic Arts Program, Kya eagerly welcomed the challenge that playing Kim MacAfee placed upon her. The close bonds that have been created between the cast - and stage manager, of course - have definitely secured a spot in Kya s memory as one of the most incredible experiences of her high school career. Dana Moss Gloria Rasputin / Teenage Ensemble / Adult Ensemble Dana is so excited to be doing musical theatre at AMHS for the fourth year in a row. She has performed in other shows such as; Anne of Green Gables, Magician s Nephew, Aladdin, Copacabana, Wizard of Oz, and Beauty and the Beast. Uk found his new talents from working on and he is excited to put these new-found talents on the stage. Uk hopes everyone enjoys the musical - it s great! Natalie Cohen Adult Ensemble This is Natalie s first year taking musical theatre at Alexander Mackenzie High School, however this is not her first time taking part in a show.
