1 NEW AUSTRALIAN TOUR AUDITION INFORMATION AND CASTING BRIEF Set on a tiny, mythical Greek island, MAMMA MIA! interweaves 22 of ABBA's best loved songs into a funny and infectious tale of a feisty mother, and her soon-to-bewed daughter, who is searching for the father she never knew. MAMMA MIA! is a heart-warming musical love story that crosses continents and delights generations. TOUR DATES The premiere season commences in Canberra on or about Friday 24 th November 2017 to then be followed by proposed seasons in other capital cities including Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and others to be announced. She is bright and beautiful, sometimes a dreamer and sometimes a wild child. Strong pop belt to Eb. ALI (Female) Featured role. Early to mid 20s. Sophie's friend. Character girl. Has a healthy cynicism about men! Strong belt to C Sharp, good Soprano an advantage. Good Mover/dancer LISA (Female) Featured role. Early to mid 20s. Sophie's friend. Happy-go-lucky, impulsive. 3 DONNA (Female) Leading role Late 30s / early 40s. Attractive and popular. Donna is plucky, unabashed and resolute. Her strength is to be envied. She has single-handedly raised her daughter without a husband or a life partner. Self-reliance has been her forte, though she is more vulnerable than people realize. Owner of the hotel on the island. Former lead singer with "Donna and the Dynamos Strong belt Range: Low E to C sharp. TANYA (Female) Featured role. Late 30s. One of Donna's friends. Was a former singer with "Donna and the Dynamos". Sophisticated, sharp-tongued and elegant. Strong belt Range: Low E to A. Must be a good mover. ROSIE (Female) Featured role. Late 30s. One of Donna's oldest friends. Was a former singer with "Donna and the Dynamos". She is confident on the surface, shy underneath. Dedicated to equal rights for women. Contrast to Donna and Tanya - MUST have a dry wit. Strong belt. Range: low E to C Sharp SAM (Male) Featured role Late 30 s to early 40. Left Donna because of an obligation to his fiancé. Became an architect. He's a charmer. BILL (Male) Featured role Late 30 s to 40. Travel writer with no possessions, no strings - a bit of a loner. Good singer preferable, but actor singers welcome. SKY (Male) Featured role Late 20s. Sophie's fiancé. He's athletic, attractive, sensitive and self-aware. Formerly worked at the London Stock Exchange - has a passion for the island and the people. Range: Baritone / Tenor - must have high Ab. PEPPER (Male) Featured role 20s. Sky's best friend. Helps run the hotel. Irresistibly charming and adores women. Must be a strong dancer and actor with good comic instincts. Acrobatic skills an advantage.. Baritone / Tenor. EDDIE (Male) Featured role Mid to late 20s. Sky's friend. Help runs the hotel.
