6 PREZIDENT BROWN FEATURED TRACK I LOVE JAH Jamaica Biography Prezident Brown (Fitz Cotterell) was born in the hills of Clarendon, Jamaica. His mother called him Junior Ranking because he would grab the microphone and chant at schoolyard and country dances. He was first known as Slim Brown because of his resemblance to and similar DJ style to his mentor, U Brown. The most formative influence on Prezident Brown was producer and sound system operator Jack Ruby. Ruby saw something special in young Slim Brown; he took Slim Brown under his wing, re-named him Prezident Brown and appointed him resident M.C. of his Hi-Power Sound System. In 1989 Prezident Brown began recording with Grove Music and Roof International but it was Barry O Hare s label, X-Rated, that provided a home base for Prezident Brown and with Runn Records helped launch his career in Europe. In 1996 he signed a lucrative 5 album artist deal with Island Records, which didn t work in his favor. Prezident Brown has been very well received in the United States and is building a large fan base, and as a champion of the new roots and reality consciousness reggae movement he entertains, informs and inspires. Featured Albums FOLLOW Prezident Brown A 46 show tour in the summer of 2002 put together by Jahmani Productions took Prezident Brown all over the United States, including performances at The Sierra Nevada World Music Festival and Reggae On The River. Also, Jahmani Productions released Showcase Volumes 1 and 2 that year with Showcase Volume 3 following in Prezident has since done repeat performances at both festivals and has added many other prestigious ones to his list. The latest release, Showcase Volume 4 Health and Strength, he decided to sell on his own, independent of any record label. Lyricist, vocalist and creative artist, Sahra, brings a vibrant energy to you through music and art. Born in Philadelphia to a musical family, Sahra gravitated toward the magnetic mysticism of reggae music. Relocating to the beautiful & inspirational islands of Hawaii, she co-founded Jahringa, her first reggae band. Jahringa inspired her to sing about life s beauty & mystery. 9 Her own words Featured Albums As a young girl I remember one spring I captured and kept an inchworm housed in a small, cardboard box with cotton padding in my room. Day after day, I watched it transform from the chrysalis stage to a beautiful, butterfly. I then returned it outside. As a teenager, I collected artistically shaped tree branches from walks I took in the park and displayed them in my room through the winter months. I have always been in awe of nature s creativity and spontaneity. How does the leaf know its time to let go and to drop to the ground? This relationship is simple and pure. It is reliable although, it appears as a random happening. The wind blows and leaves take flight. Everything has a season. I cycle through a diversity of expressions throughout the year. Royal Crowns are created in the dry season from Palm Cloth that I collect from local Palm trees then processed for later use. The flower petals that I use to create masks bloom in late summer. Harvests from the garden always inspire new recipes and songs are written as they come. One creative idea leads to another and on and on. Time itself is art. 10 RAFAEL PEPPE FEATURED TRACK ALGO NOVO Featuring Dada Yute Biography Brasil Born in 1975, Rafael Peppe grew up in the outskirts of the São Paulo city north side. Raised in a close-knit family, he always embraced black music styles like Samba, Bossa Nova, Soul Music, R&B, Jazz, Reggae and MPB (Brazilian Pop) while resisting to all forms of prejudice and racial discrimination in Brazil. Through music, Rafael could rescue his african roots and culture. Rafael was influenced by his Rastaman musician, uncle Claudio Peppe, who introduced him to reggae music when he was only 6 years old. Rafael gives thanks and praise to those who influenced him positively; Luciano (Jah Messenger), Bushman, Prince Malachi, Peter Tosh, Claudio Peppe, the Marley Family, Junior Dread, Kuky Lughon, Solano Jacob, Dada Yute, Christafari, and most importantly, giving all praise to God. 11 ALINE DURAN FEATURED TRACK LOVE IS STRONG Brasil Biography Aline Duran, a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, began her musical career in 2003 by attending various shows and important events in the city of Sao Paulo, as Grito Cultural in its two editions, at the 450º Sao Paulo Anniversary and music festivals as Humaitá Pra Peixe in Rio de Janeiro, Gas Festival sponsored by Guarana Antartica, among others. In 2007, the singer began to gain ground on the music scene in South America, and participated at the reggae festival Dynamic Soundclash in Argentina, where she represented Brazil. In 2009, while promoting her debut album Novo Dia released in late 2008, Aline hit the road for a tour through Brazil alongside Don Carlos and Apple Gabriel, two Jamaican artists. Her last most important performances were at Virada Cultural 2011 with Mad Professor, in the city of Sao Paulo and at the Boarding Film Festival, in Argentina. 16 ZENNY FEATURED TRACK REASSURANCE Featuring Chaka Demus Biography Jamaica Born on December 16, 1984, Zenny grew up in St. Ann, Jamaica, Parish of Bob Marley, Marcus Garvey, Burning Spear, and Shaba Ranks. Always a lover of music, dance, sports, fashion, films and entertainment, she was raised in a rural environment called Farm Town where patriotism, and an appreciation of authentic roots and culture were encouraged. The household supported the sharing of ideas and the interplay of different philosophies and ways of thinking. Zenny later travelled and lived overseas to learn different cultures and languages, spending time in Germany, Spain & the United States of America. Zenny s music is inspired by her upbringing & her daily realities. I basically write to contribute to the quality of peoples lives, my own and our reality. 19 FEATURED TRACK DUBWISE Biography The band, BuzzRock, is a high energy reggae band hailing from the twin isle of Trinidad and Tobago. The name BuzzRock represents the pulse of the earth or the vibration of the people, hence the name Buzz (vibration) and Rock (the Earth). BuzzRock s performances have been known to mesmerize reggae lovers and non-reggae listeners alike, with their mystical presence on stage, raw emotion and passion each member puts into the music. Their first album titled Universal Blacks was released in The album, fully produced by BuzzRock and mastered at Tuff Gong Studios Jamaica, created waves in Trinidad and Tobago and a number of independent record labels have taken interest in the project with plans underway to secure international distribution. 20 BALAGUERO FEATURED TRACK ILUMINA Chile Biography Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, on Jan 24, 1985, Balaguero grew up with his mother and brother in a small community. He graduated from school as a Commercial Agent, with expertise in construction and maintenance of environmental areas. He was also a good sound technician which made it a hard decision for him to become a reggae artist in his country. A fan of all genres of music, reggae has always been his first love. The first contact he had with reggae music was at the age of 15 when a cassette of hits from Bob Marley, Israel Vibration, Yellowman and more, fell in his hands during school. He immediately became the first musician in the family. Eager to know more about reggae, he quickly evolved into a singer, songwriter and performer of New Roots, Lovers Rock, Reggae & Dancehall. He considers himself a free person, happy and full of faith. You can feel it just from hearing one of his songs. You feel his vibe in his lyrics and you hear it in his voice. He is a talented musician who can play the keyboards, bass, guitar and a little drums. In 2007, he released his first album, HAZ BIEN. This release paved the way for him to travel and share his music and message in other countries, including cities in Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico and Chile. He now shares the stage and studio time with the major faces of the Latin Reggae Movement; I Nesta, Nano Bravo, Cresposalem and MC Jona, the singer of the popular reggae band, Gondwana, with whom he still share stage time with. 22 LEAH ROSIER FEATURED TRACK LOVE FYAH Amsterdam, NL Biography Leah Rosier (Amsterdam, NL) has been singing and playing guitar and piano since an early age. Influenced by her older brother she developed a passion for Reggae. As a teenager she started traveling the world to work as a model. She would spent most of her free time listening to Reggae, playing guitar, writing songs and learning how to use music recording software. Started a band with her brother but never left the jamroom, feeling too shy to sing in front of people. A trip to Jamaica made Leah even more passionate about Reggae and the culture and history behind it. The drive to overcome her shyness and get more confidence to share her music grew along the years and in 2010 she decided to put some of her songs online and started performing with a DJ. 23 lead to a collaboration between the two: Amsterdam released in May Shortly after that she teamed up also through the internet with the band Rise & Shine from Besançon, France. Her song Music Teach Me on their Opus Riddim was released in July In March 2012 the band invited Leah to Besançon and she spent 3 weeks rehearsing, performing and recording; a very productive and inspirational time. Now her wish to perform with a band got granted twice: she works with Two- Roots in Holland and Rise & Shine in France. their advice and guidance since one of her first gigs. They organized the tour for Marlon Asher and Leah Rosier in the Netherlands (Summer 2011). Amsterdam is also the base of Not Easy At All Productions who created the music that Leah used for two songs featured on her cd High Paw. 24 TROYDON FEATURED TRACK LOVE Jamaica Biography Born in Portmore, Jamaica, Troydon started making music in Already a talented and accomplished dancer, well known within the Jamaican dance fraternity, his reggae heroes Bob Marley, Gregory Isaacs, Gyptian, Jah Cure, Tarrus Riley, Mavado and Vybz Kartel inspired him to also want to express himself through song. Troydon comes from a musical family. His first song called Help is Coming was recorded in 2009 in collaboration with his younger brother Intrestt. In 2011 he recorded Summer is Back Again with his elder brother Allaboma (a former Magnum Kings and Queens finalist in Jamaica). From the outset Troydon was driven and wanted to create a record label for the youth, for those who are determined to succeed and make a difference to their life and that of others. 25 wings and the messengers of Jah. They are also believed to be a symbol of protection, thus relating to guardian angels which have long been a symbol of spirituality, protection and love. Troydon has released 4 albums under the Gidians Records label. His debut album called D#1 was released in 2009 and his second Jamaica in His third album The Voice was released in the Spring of 2012 to critical acclaim both in Jamaica and abroad and made album of the week on a UK radio station. Troydon released is latest album in June 13 Looking From The Inside Out. Troydon was inspired to write the one-drop album following his promo visit to the UK in February He wanted to release an album that would reach out to listeners of all ages enabling them to relate to the heartfelt sound of reggae music through the mix of rock-steady beats and soul music. Great tracks on the album include Inside Out, Moving Forward and Long Time Soul Mate. This increased exposure led to Troydon being a nominee at the British Reggae Industry Awards (BRIA) 2013 at the Indig02 in the UK in February Troydon came a close 2nd position a great achievement for any upcoming artist. He made a visit to the UK to attend the event and carry out a series of live radio interviews across the UK. The trip was a big success and 2 further trips were made in 2013 where he was headline act. Troydon will be making a return visit to the UK May-Oct 14 where he will be carrying out more live performances at festivals, promo and performing at exclusive events. 26 ANEN FEATURED TRACK BLACK SOUL Peru Biography Anen is humble yet striking... awesome with an almost innocuous persona. He is explosive in words and song and has developed into a great Reggae artiste. As a Peruvian singer/ songwriter, Anen has always been spiritual and sincere. After a performance in Jamaica at the White River Reggae Bash in 1994, Anen realigned his focus on becoming a true Reggae Artist and collaborated with Steven Stewart to produce his first single, Claudia, a track that took Peru by storm. Since then, Anen has continued to make reggae music his life s work. His music is the fusion of Latin and Jamaican heritage. Change : Cambio 2008 Anen has work with reggae greats like Sly & Robbie, Sticky Thompson, Dalton Browne, Earl Chinna Smith, Dean Fraser and Robbie Lynn to name a few. It is safe to say that ANEN has paved the way as the only Latin American artist with roots in the reggae music market in Kingston, Jamaica. FOLLOW Anen

27 CALTON COFFIE FEATURED TRACK KINKY LOVE Jamaica Biography Born in London, Calton came to Kingston, Jamaica, at the age of five, when his parents returned to their native country. There he learned the Jamaican style made popular by Eric Monty Morris and Bob Marley, and the R&B from the likes of Sam Cooke. Coffie, a Grammy winner and the voice behind Fox TV show s Cops, is still Reggae s most played vocalist. Calton was inducted in Reggae Walk of Fame on September 10, His stealthy steps away from The Inner Circle of his former band mates finds him in the studio and totally immersed in the production of a plethora of new works. Preserving the music and memory of his mentor and friend, the late Delroy Wilson, is almost always a part of this routine. He is applying his personal touch to several Delroy Wilson tunes, the proceeds of which will go to the latter s family. Familiar but fresh, raw but refined, Calton Coffie is back!
