Experience: Composer/bandleader on national television programs and varied media : Dennis Miller, Chevy Chase, Easy Streets, The Defenders, Oprah Show, WMS Games, Documentaries, Intel, Rides & Shows. Three decades as a consummate professional have kept David Goldblatt consistently in demand as a contributing artist to top names of jazz : Tribal Tech, Mark Isham, Gino Vannelli, Vinnie Colaiuta, Pete Escovido, Ernie Watts, Stanley Clarke, Dizzy Gillespie, Wayne Shorter, Joe Sample, Tom Scott, Alphonse Mouzon, Jazz Crusaders, Rick Margitza, Flora Purim & Airto Moriera, John Patitucci, Frank Gambale, Madeleine Peyroux... Musical director for various international touring acts such as Diana Ross Goldblatt s success, throughout the plethora of projects he s chosen to embrace, has sustained while never sacrificing his own aspirations and identity. While building and maintaining a respected identity in many musical domains he has yet to shy away from the music he most loves, nurtured within his roots as an improvising acoustic pianist. David grew up in Chicago and was drawn towards music from

2 early on through his mother who played piano and sang with big bands. Jazz piano grabbed his attention at 12 years old and has been a primary focus with other styles branching out from his main focus of jazz and classical. After graduating high school early David attended Northern Illinois University, Berklee College Of Music then San Francisco where David spent 4 years learning a lot about Afro Cuban music and funk styles. David moved to Los Angeles to attend Grove School Of Music for the Composing And Arranging program where he wrote and conducted a 20 piece orchestra each week for a year. This was a great expansion of capability. After Grove School, David embarked on a long stretch of career work as composer, session pianist/keyboardist, musical director and teacher. 7 years after the birth of their son, David and his wife decided to re-locate the family to Portland for the wonderful community setting and nature and independent, forward thinking growth going on there. Their son is 15 now and flourishing as a drummer and musician who is passionate about composing and producing for a career. David has focused a great deal of time on his family and being very present to their son who is now more independent which has freed up more time for David to embark on the strongest and most creative years to come as a composer for media and as a director of his own music bands.
