2 6 DSD Tracks: available in DSD64, DSD128 in Stereo and Multichannel Thank you for taking the time to download the OPPO Digital DSD Sampler album that we curated with the help of our friends at NativeDSD. These six tracks have been chosen to highlight the technical capabilities of our OPPO Digital universal disc players as well as the high standard of audio quality found with DSD recordings. We hope you enjoy the music and that you are encouraged to seek out more recordings from these fine artists. These DSD tracks are offered in a variety of quality levels, from DSD64, DSD128, and DSD256. Both the OPPO UDP-203 and UDP-205 are able to play DSD64 and DSD128 files directly from a USB hard drive attached to the player. DSD256 support is available on the UDP-205 when connected to the USB DAC input from a computer using DSD compatible playback software. Christopher Vick, Product Manager

3 Track list Track 1: The Budapest Festival Orchestra, conductor Iván Fischer: Mahler Kraftig bewegt What better starting point than Mahler's first symphony. It's both a triumphant and playful movement that incorporates militaristic themes, naturalistic elements, and pieces of folk songs. Originally not very well received by the public, it has aged quite well, slowly but surely. Catalog Number ( Track 2: Bill Evans Bauble, Bangles, and Beads This is a fantastic track from a recently found studio album released some 50 years after it was recorded. There's so much going on that once you're through you'll listen again just to double check that it actually did only consist of piano and bass. Catalog Number 2XHDRE1044 ( Track 3: Lavinia Meijer - Opening Piece from Glassworks This track was an easy inclusion. Originally composed and performed by Philip Glass for piano, it takes on another life with the harp, while maintaining a similar percussiveness to the original. 4 Track 4: Breno Vírícimo - Se Voce Nao Short but sweet, this track simply consists of a well-recorded and lovely vocal and guitar performance. Catalog Number JL003 ( Track 5: Thomas and Eva Early Autumn Recorded in DSD 256, this track showcases the strengths of wellrecorded, high resolution audio. Catalog Number JL002 ( Track 6: The Budapest Festival Orchestra, conductor Iván Fischer Mahler - Allegro Maestoso This first movement of Mahler's second symphony bears little resemblance to the playfulness of the other composition featured on this sampler, and it is somewhat appropriate that it is with this solemnity and funereal quality that this sampler comes to an end.
