We also hope that it establishes a mutual understanding that Miss Sutherland is coming to serve you and that, in turn, you ll seek to meet her needs attentively. Unless you are requesting Miss Sutherland specifically for a solo appearance, she typically travels with a team of three other individuals. 3 Artist Profile Meg Sutherland s cinematic-indie debut record features thirteen original songs that span a lifetime of trial and triumph. The album, Courage, Dear Heart, which is now slated for an early winter 2015 release, is a deep and provocative exposition of the human heart, set to music by Sutherland s exquisite vocal talent and uncompromising piano mastery. Songs like How To Love and Don t Be Afraid Of The Dark explore the melancholy of familial tension, where Walls Of My Soul is a tribute to those who bravely pick up the pieces of the past and dare to rebuild. Send Us The Rain is an anthem of hope, crying out to the God who s faithful to provide, and Show You is an invitation to experience life to its fullest. Other songs, like Real and Doug s Song, summon the nostalgia hidden within the literature and feature films birthed from the mind of the late C.S. Lewis. These songs alone are a must for any fan of the Narnia legacy. I have known Narnia all my life, says Executive Producer Douglas Gresham, and amazingly, this girl-child seems to know it almost as well as I do. Meg s music sings from and about the heart. Sometimes it hurts. Sometimes it fills with joy. But then, beauty is like that. Producer Christopher Hopper expressed similar sentiments about Sutherland. Meg has a way of drawing you in. There s an innocence about her voice, yet she s a very old soul. That s a striking combination. Ultimately, Sutherland s picturesque work is an invitation into life-living, to feel and touch the emotions that make us human. It s her detailed words and soaring melodies that tie her listeners together, binding them in a mystical journey worthy of another world. PAGE 3
4 Reservation Requests All requests for dates are entertained in the order they re submitted. We do our very best to accommodate your schedule; if we can t, we ll provide other dates that Miss Sutherland may be available. The earlier you book, the better. Date Type Please specify the type of date you re requesting Miss Sutherland for when submitting your calendar reservation request. It should include: The purpose of the event (along with any clear goals) Estimated attendance (for product fulfillment purposes only) and audience type of the event (youth, adults, married couples only, etc) The duration of the entire event, as well as the specific portion that you re looking for Miss Sutherland to perform. This should include notable times for load-in, sound check, program meetings, etc. A list of any other speakers or performers participating in the event Details and description of the venue, including stage size Sound reinforcement details and any available back line equipment Honorariums Miss Sutherland exerts a tremendous amount of energy, planning and preparation into each invitation. Each member of her team leaves their individual vocations and families to serve with you, setting aside large amounts of time to make your event the best it can be. With this in mind, Miss Sutherland requests a minimum honorarium amount of $1,000 when performing solo as a heartfelt thank you for her time; when with her band, the minimum amount is $1,500. We require a 50% deposit at time of booking, made payable to Meg Sutherland, with the remainder presented to Miss Sutherland on the day of the event. PAGE 4
5 Logistics Travel As Miss Sutherland travels mostly by land, a mileage reimbursement of $50 for every 100 miles traveled is requested (from Canyon, TX). On occasion airfare may be needed as an alternate form of travel for single-date or large conference destinations. We ask that you provide round-trip economy airfare for each member of her team (AMA or LBB). Lodging If it s necessary for Miss Sutherland to stay overnight for your event, please provide lodging at no less than a three-star-equivalent hotel nearest your venue, and up to three additional team members (we ll inform you of groupings to economize space). We want them to be secure and well rested to serve you. We expect you to attend to the security and safety of Miss Sutherland, her team and their belongings during their entire stay with you. Please consult us for high profile events or more dangerous destinations. Food Please provide meals (venue on-site or restaurant) or meal stipends (in cash form or room service credit of at least $10.00 USD minimum) for each breakfast, lunch and dinner that the team is in your care. Please have food ready in dressing room or private space no later than 2 hours before doors open to the public. Please help Miss Sutherland and her team stay hydrated by providing at least two cases of bottled water for the event itself. Please help keep blood sugar levels at normal levels by keeping a snack of some sort available in the dressing rooms. A deli tray, veggie tray, bread, condiments for up to 5 people will be adequate. Please abstain from the typical pizza and wings purchase. Miss Sutherland and her team like fresh, healthy choices. There will be occasions where additional hospitality requirements are needed. This will be discussed with you about your particular event. PAGE 5
6 Operations Band Roster The traveling band roster is: Meg Sutherland: lead vox, piano/keys (Member TBA): guitars (Member TBA): bass (Member TBA): drums Audio Please expect that Miss Sutherland to be louder than, say, the Gaither Vocal Band. As much as we enjoy them, we turn it up much more than they do. Miss Sutherland will in no way we be loud enough to the point of hurting anyone, or their ears, but just be advised that we will be moving some air as it were. To put it into scientific terms, expect us to make SPL meters read numbers between dba, at our very loudest, and averaging dba the rest of the time. Front of House We expect your venue to supply one trained and competent audio engineer to serve Miss Sutherland and her team s needs. Audio systems should be of professional quality, and must be able to achieve 110 dba of clean audio at the FOH mix position. Speakers should be stacked or flown to provide even frequency response and volume levels across the venue. Speakers should be of professional quality, such as Electrovoice, EAW, QSC, Nexo, McCauley, etc. Amplifiers should be of the appropriate power ratings for the speakers, and of professional quality, such as Crown MA or Itech, QSC Pl Series, Lab Gruppen, etc. System should be a 3- or 4-way actively crossed over system. 7 Audio Console and Monitoring We expect the audio console to be able to provide four separate axillary sends for the monitor mixes of the band. Digital, in-ear or floor monitor setups are also welcomed. Stage/Mic Equipment Please be sure that the stage is clean and orderly prior to the band s arrival for setup. Also, be sure to remove any equipment from the stage that will not be used by Miss Sutherland. This will help us ensure that the event will start on time. Please make sure that the stage has power outlets or extension chords run to the proximity of each musician. (See stage layout for locations). Main stage area should be at least 25 wide and 15 deep. There is no need for sound wings. Stage is to be level and solid. For the safety of everyone involved, it is extremely important that it does not bend or sway. Clear stair access will be required upstage left and/ or right. Video Screen If Miss Sutherland is leading worship for your Christian event, she will need at least one video screen with a projector on or very near the stage area, that is visible by all in the audience. If you are not sure how big the screen should be, please take the depth of the audience area, divide by 5, and that is a good start of how wide the screen should be in feet. Please be sure that the projector(s) is in proper working order and that the bulb has a reasonable amount of (less than 1000) hours on it. Please be sure that the video screen is not located in a bad location, such as directly in front of the band. It s preferred if the screen is flown upstage center. Screen Media If you re using a lyric display program for your worship services, we will provide lyric content for your system in Rich Text Format (.rtf) for easy copy/pasting into your program of choice. 10 Back-Line Equipment If you re providing back-line, please provide the following: Drums: DW kit, 20x14 Kick, 12 & 14 toms. The 12 will be rack mounted, the 14 will be on the floor. Please provide legs for the floor toms; they do not go next to each other, so a stand for both will not work. We will bring a snare and cymbals. Bass: Ampeg SVT classic head and 4x10 cabinet Guitars: 1 Vox AC30 or 1 Fender Twin Reverb Keys: 1 Nord Stage Piano If you have any questions about the above, don t hesitate to call us. Load In and Sound Check It is important that there are four reserved parking spots as close as possible to the nearest stage entrance of the venue. Miss Sutherland will need full access to the stage, sound system and lighting system no later than 4 hours before the venue is open to the audience. Proper attention here will ensure the event will start on time. Sound check is not open to the public under any circumstances. Any persons on stage or in the event area that are not with Miss Sutherland or not necessary to the work needed for the event will be asked to leave the event area until doors open to the public. Load in times and sound check times for support acts should be coordinated with Miss Sutherland before the day of the event. Recordings While we appreciate professional audio/video recordings of Miss Sutherland presentations, we ask that none of their works be sold without the expressed written permission of Sprig Music. Please contact us if you wish to discuss this further. PAGE 10
11 Merchandise Please indicate if sales of published materials (audio, video, printed) will be permissible at this event. If so, what percentage the House requires (if any). Miss Sutherland relies on merchandise sales to offset the cost of traveling and other expenses. She also uses the merchandise table as an opportunity to meet people on a one-on-one basis. Please provide one (1) 8-foot banquet table, power and adequate space in your lobby or main exhibit hall for merchandise table. Please provide two (2) competent and accountable people to handle the sale of the merchandise as to leave the band free to talk and minister. Promotions A biography and promotional photograph can be downloaded from the Electronic Press Kit at: megsutherland/ We recommend a minimum promotional campaign start date no less than 8 weeks out from the event date, with standard campaigns beginning at +6 months. Typical marketing practices for your event could include: Social media campaign on your church s or organization s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts Graphic insert placements in Sunday church bulletins, community newspapers, and other regular print circulars Graphic slides displayed during church announcement segments Banner ads displayed on your main website Newsletter inclusion highlighting the event, and personal s to key leaders Full color posters (11 x17 ) Full color hand bills (4.25 x5.5 ) PAGE 11
