2 BELGIUM AKDT AKDT organises more than 200 workshops (music, plastic arts, performance art), among them 12 weeks of world music and dance. Different workshop go on with high level teachers. 4 CROATIA Center of Croatian traditional instruments Participants have the opportunity to learn all about bagpipes and related instruments in this region. Croatia is extremely rich in types of bagpipes, the programme puts a special emphasis on learning the techniques of playing bagpipes from Slavonia and Baranja, special type called dude from Podravina and Bilogora dances, and some types of mih and diple (Istrian, Dalmatian, Herzegovinian). In addition to the techniques of playing, the music basics are taught (for non-readers), then maintaining and adjusting the bagpipes, and making reeds and some other parts. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 10 per term. Head of the programme is Stjepan Večković. During the year, upon agreement Croatian bagpipe festival international festival of traditional instruments Center of Croatian traditional instruments The Croatian Gay was held for the first time in 2007 in the village of Mihovljan in Hrvatsko zagorje. Wielkopolska region is extremely rich in 2 based types of bagpipes, the programme puts a special emphasis on learning the techniques of playing bagpipes from west (koziol) and central (dudy). In addition to the techniques of playing, the music basics are taught (for nonreaders), then maintaining and adjusting the bagpipes, and making reeds and some other parts. During the year, upon agreement / Competition Połajewo - international festival of pipers-carol Local Goverment + Fundacja Pluribus Unum Poznań Połajewo: To the crib shepherds, to the crib pipers is a paraphrase of an ancient Polish carol and a slogan for the Annual International Meeting of Carolers in Polajewo, Czarnkow-Trzcianka borough, Wielkopolska. On every third Sunday of January, pipers of all Poland meet at the mass in the Polajewo church to hail the old shepherd s tradition of singing carols by accompaniment of bagpipes. The initiative was introduced by folklore enthusiasts of the Museum of Musical Instruments in Poznan and Wielkopolska pipes, inspired by a Renaissance triptych painted in 1572 by a Poznan painter Mateusz Kossior, titled The Homage Shepherd, presenting a group of shepherds playing bagpipes at the Bethlehem crib. The participants of the Meetings first met in January The Meeting have gained such popularity that in January 2005 it hosted its first guests from abroad, a pipers band from Europe. 6 Kopanica national competition of traditional instruments Local Goverment + Fundacja Pluribus Unum Poznań Kopanica: The Folk Music Competition in Kopanica is the earliest event of its type nationwide. Reactivated based on a diploma from 1937 edition, which was preserved in a museum collection, the competition was resurrected in 2003, 66 years from first edition. Attended by pipers and pipe and folk bands from arround Poland and Europe, the competition is held annually. Accompanying the Competiotion in Kopanica is Bagpipe Trail, i.e. a wagon drive of the attending bands trough what once constituted the Polish-German borderland a vibrantly musical region, now sprawled across 4 communes and 2 provinces. The Trail has two local musicians as its patrons, they are Tomasz Brudło and Walenty Brudło, winners of the original event. Yearly, 2 or 3 days: juni (Kopanica)

7 SLOVAKIA Bagpipers wandering Orava culture centre in Dolný Kubín Bagpipers wandreing is cycle of educational concerts focused on Slovak traditional music. Great emphasis will be placed on the presentation bagpipes and traditional folk whistles, which is part of UNESCO representative list of cultural heritage. Cycle of education concert was realized in region Orava, in the north of Slovakia, where is tradition in playing on bagpipe still active. Nevertheless, concerts have a great impact for children in primary school. The main lecturers were Drahomír Daloš and Michaela Pavelová. They talked about bagpipes, projected a document, showed a musician instrument and of course they played for children. A very good experience was that children could try playing on the instruments. The organizer of the event is Orava culture centre in Dolný Kubín. Autumn 2016, Autumn 2017 Gajdovačka - international bagpipers festival in Oravská Polhora Orava culture centre in Dolný Kubín Gajdovačka - international bagpipers festival in Oravská Polhora has an eighteen-year history. is organized in village Oravská Polhora, where is still active bagpipers playing, it is a place where live great young bagpipers, and it is a place where lived great bagpipers Jozef Zboroň. On his memorial during festival Orava culture centre organizes competition for young bagpipers. is organised in September every year. It is an international bagpipers festival, the main goal is to meet musicians from different countries, concerts in Oravská Polhora, Sihelné and Museom of Orava village Zuberec, also presentation tradition bagpipers music from Slovakia and others countries.
