Recalls on Sunday 4 th Nov at 6pm Our vision When you re dealing with an out of this world alien plant, a sadistic dentist and a simple florist who will sell his soul to get the girl, there is nothing out of bounds with this contemporary take on a musical favourite. Succulent, sinister and deeply seductive, Little Shop of Horrors is more poignant now, than ever before. Told against a backdrop of a consumeristic world driven by fame and greed, this is ultimately a love story, a tale of a boy and a girl who are desperate to escape the tendrils of a hum-drum existence on Skid Row. How far would you go to get the girl? What we are looking for A small, but perfectly formed dedicated and utterly committed cast. Not only do you need to be able to dance and sing, we need to be able to believe whole-heartedly in your character. We are not looking for caricatures, but fully formed and motivated characters who can convincingly take the audience on a journey. Format of the evening We will start dead on 7.30 with a brief talk from the creative team and then a movement workshop, followed by song and dialogue auditions. 2 Seymour Krelborn An insecure, put-upon florist's clerk and eventual hero. He is a genuine, well-meaning man who is taken for granted because of his clumsy ways and poor social skills. He is not completely innocent though, he chooses to feed the plant because of his desire to escape Skid Row and to get the girl. 5 Audrey Seymour s secret love who dreams of a better life outside of Skid Row. Audrey has poor self-worth and education, but incredibly good looks and a sweet and vulnerable demeanour. She needs to look a little older than Seymour. 7 Mr. Mushnik The seasoned owner of the failing East Side flower shop and Seymour's nosy boss. He is profit-driven, greedy, and manipulative. Seldom smiles, but often sweats. 8 Orin Scrivello A leather clad egotistical dentist with a passion for causing pain. Audrey's abusive boyfriend, who is targeted by Seymour. Also plays multiple bit parts male and female throughout the show. 9 Voice Of The Plant (Audrey II) An actor/vocalist located offstage. The voice is that of a conniving, street-smart 'villain.' A funky Rhythm and Blues voice is best. Needs to be highly seductive. 10 Crystal, Ronette and Chiffon Crystal, Ronette and Chiffon are street urchins, acting as the occasional Greek Chorus. Young, hip, and smart, these girls are the only ones who have a grip on reality.
