.0 Product overview. General product informaon The DR505 is a turntable decoder that can control almost all turntables. All common control protocols are supported. When using the DR505 in the Basic or Basic Plus version, no modifica3ons to the turntable are necessary, the turntable can be connected and operated "Out of the Box". For the turntables of Roco and Märklin corresponding adapters are available, so that also here a conversion of the turntable is omi4ed, when using the Basic or Basic Plus version. For the professional version we offer a complete conversion kit including an adapter board for a Plux decoder (The decoder must be purchased separately.). The polarity of the stage track is reversed directly in the DR505, so no addi3onal hardware is required. Of course, a RailCom detector and a "normal" occupancy signal for the stage track are also integrated. Features of the individual versions: DR505 Basic The posi3on is detected by locking the turntable plaoorm, so there is a "click" of the I can't hear you locking up. Slow braking at the selected siding is possible. The motor control is carried out directly via the DR505. The speed can be set individually in the tool. DR505 Basic-Plus Posi3on detec3on is carried out via addi3onal feedback sensors on the track connec3ons. The locking of the turntable plaoorm is performed once and remains unlocked un3l the DR505 detects the selected siding. Now the DR505 brakes down and drives slowly into posi3on. AJer reaching the posi3on, the turntable plaoorm locks safely again. The motor is controlled directly via the DR505. The speed can be set individually in the tool. DR505 Professional Posi3on detec3on is carried out via addi3onal feedback sensors on the track connec3ons. The motor control is carried out via a separate Locomo3ve decoder (PluX). Depending on the decoder used, load control is also available. Of course you can also use sound (at decoder) can be played back. The light of the stage house and the entrance and exit signals can also be controlled if the locomo3ve decoder used provides sufficient func3on outputs. The maximum speed (CV5), the accelera3on ramp (CV3) and the decelera3on ramp (CV4) are programmed directly in the tool of the DR505. Basic requirements for the use of the DR505: The turntable must be mechanically in order and func3on absolutely problem-free! It is important that the lock (Fleischmann or similar) of the turntable drive opens completely. There must be no clicking noises when turning when the locking device is pulled out! The DR505 is supplied either directly with track voltage or via a separate DC power supply. The power supply must always be used when the track voltage is below 6V. A voltage below 6V is not sufficient to safely control the turntable!! A9enon! In principle, the track connecons of the turntable must be insulated from the shed tracks on both sides! This must be observed in order to avoid a short circuit. The con3nuing tracks can then be normally supplied with track voltage again or monitored with a feedback signal. The polarity of the sidings can be set in the configura3on program. P 4

If this func3on is used, note that the feedback modules that are used for the connec3on of bu4ons or switches must always be connected directly to the S88N bus of the DR505 first! 3 4 ) Number of feedback modules to be used for push bu4ons or switches. ) Func3on selec3on how the feedback module is to be used. 'Pair' Two bu4ons per address, a total of two inputs are required by the DR4088. Conven3onal address control with the 'Red' and 'Green' keys 'Toggle' One pushbu4on per address, one input is required on the DR4088. The term toggle means: Press the bu4on, the address switches from "straight to bent". Press the bu4on again, the address switches from "bent to straight". 'OnOff' One toggle switch per address, one input is required on the DR4088. OnOff' means: Toggle switch On, "address bent". Toggle switch Off, "Address straight". 3) The DR5000 switches the address as soon as the switch posi3on changes. Select how the solenoid should switch. 4) Address of the solenoid to be switched. If the 'Pair' func3on has been selected, the address must be entered twice (once for the red bu4on and once for the green bu4on). 5) Accept current sezngs 6) abort 5 6 P 33

6.0 Connecon examples A few basic requirements: For the Basic and the Basic-Plus version no conversion of the turntable is necessary! The tabs on the stage (Basic-Plus version) must not be removed! If the professional version is to be used, conversions to the turntable are necessary. This conversion is described in a separate manual. are described. The DR505 is supplied either directly with track voltage or via a separate DC power supply. The power supply must always be used when the track voltage is below 6V. A voltage below 6V is not sufficient to safely control the turntable.! A9enon! In principle, the track connecons of the turntable must be insulated from the shed tracks on both sides! This must be observed in order to avoid a short circuit. The con3nuing tracks can then be normally supplied with track voltage again or monitored with a feedback signal. Please note that there are of course other possibilies and special cases that cannot be presented here! P 37

6. DR505 Basic for Fleischmann H0,N DS, -wire track If the DR505 is used in the basic version, no modificaons to the turntable are required! Under no circumstances must the contact lugs on the turntable plaoorm be removed. It is also important that the track connec3ons are insulated (separated) from the shed tracks on both sides. The shed tracks can be supplied with track voltage either via feedback devices or directly from the control centre. Various informa3on (RailCom informa3on, feedback, control commands) is exchanged with the control centre via LocoNet. These sezngs are necessary for opera3on. See point 4.8. 39 6. DR505 Basic for Märklin H0 DS, 3-wire track If the DR505 is used in the basic version, no modificaons to the turntable are required! Under no circumstances must the contact lugs on the turntable plaoorm be removed. It is also important that the track connec3ons are insulated (separated) from the shed tracks on both sides. The shed tracks can be supplied with track voltage either via feedback sensors or directly from the control centre. The Märklin adapter transmits the occupancy message of the turntable plaoorm against track ground (GND). An addi3onal feedback is therefore not necessary. Various informa3on (Railcom informa3on, feedback, control commands) is exchanged with the control centre via LocoNet. The DR505-M adapter board is required to operate the Märklin turntable. These sezngs are necessary for opera3on. See point 4.8. Necessary track separa3on on both sides Note the jumper posi3on! DR505-M P 39

6.3 DR505 Basic for Roco H0,TT DS, -conductor track If the DR505 is used in the basic version, no modificaons to the turntable are required! Under no circumstances must the contact lugs on the turntable plaoorm be removed. It is also important that the track connec3ons are insulated (separated) from the shed tracks on both sides. The shed tracks can be supplied with track voltage either via feedback devices or directly from the control centre. The Roco adapter transmits the posi3on feedback of the turntable plaoorm. Various informa3on (RailCom informa3on, feedback, control commands) is exchanged with the control centre via LocoNet. The DR505-R adapter board is required to operate the Roco turntable. These sezngs are necessary for opera3on. See point 4.8. Necessary track separa3on on both sides Note the jumper posi3on! DR505-R P 40

6.4 DR505 Basic-Plus for Fleischmann H0,N DS, -wire track If the DR505 is used in the Basic-Plus version, no modificaons to the turntable are required! Addional feedbacks: The DR505-EXT set is required for turning without "clacking", internal posi3on feedback and for precise Bremen and stopping. The feedback included in the set allows the DR505 to detect the exact posi3on of the turntable plaoorm and react accordingly. All siding sidings must be equipped with feedback detectors. The DR505- EXT set includes a DR4088-OPTO. This allows 8 track sidings to be monitored. If there are more than 8 sidings, DR505-EXT is needed to monitor all sidings. These are then simply connected to the last DR4088-OPTO as an extension. These sezngs are necessary for opera3on. See point 4.8. Necessary track separa3on on both sides DR488-DC The sezngs of the sidings are also necessary! See point 4.9 and point 4.0. P 4

6.5 DR505 Basic-Plus for Märklin H0 DS, 3-wire track If the DR505 is used in the Plus version, no modifica3ons to the turntable are required!
