3 YOU DREAM WE LIGHT LG Display OLED light Design Competition 2016 The OLED light design competition hosted by LG Display OLED light and designboom has come to a close with tremendous success. The competition included the use of new materials and products in a Convergence Solution to create unique attributes in design and the utilization of OLED light technology in General Lighting. Over 4,000 designers, students and companies participated in the event. Let s take a look at the 5 contest winners and their diverse creations. 6 7

Convergence Solution ELAC Winner ELAC - Embroidered Light for Acoustic Ceilings The goal of this project is to exploit the advancements of OLED and LED technology in the area of acoustic ceiling tiles. Our approach is to surface mount light and circuitry to avoid that light installations are effecting the acoustic performance and also to ease the technical installation. 6 Runner up. General Lighting Bloom Runner up Bloom Bloom is a pendant lamp concept tailored to LG s flexible OLED panels. It is supposed to combine the perfect diffuse light of an OLED with a defined light cone, as it would be desirable at a lunch table or in a restaurant setting. Design by Henning Marxen 12 13

General Lighting Ease Runner up Ease Primarily, for the purpose of mood lighting, the design makes the most out of the flexibility, thinness and weightlessness of OLED technology while the deliberate curve in the light showcases the unparalleled uniformity, comfortableness and quality of OLED lighting.
