Flats Custom built in-studio or delivered on location. One of our most requested builds as flats provide a highly flexible and customisable backdrop, or floor effect, for photography work.

We build to a variety of standard sizes, and to custom specifications. Installation We can deliver flats built in our workshop Omega Place: 8 x 12 the biggest possible pre-built flats that we are Studio 2: 8 x 12 already assembled. If the covering material is supplied to us we can apply for you. Prices for specialist finishes are dependent on the size of the flat, and price of the chosen cover or effect. 6 Effect Flats Walls Effect Flats Floors Best when built to specification, though we do keep a small selection of our most requested finishes in stock. We ve created interior, brick, concrete, panelled and more for numerous photoshoots. Floor flats work with wall flats to complete an interior set. 7 Window & Door Flats Creative Window Flats We can build windows or doors in to our standard or custom flats. A standard size window flat would be 8x4, which can be made up to an 8x8 with the window centred, or to the left or right. A door can be installed in the same way as the windows, shown below. 8 Props We ve hand selected a wide range of props that can be hired for both studio or location shoots. Please look on our website for our full up to date selection. In addition to this, we also custom build props from a variety of materials to your specification. We hold a stock of pre-built in our workshop, though can quickly around builds to specification. We can tackle a variety of briefs for custom making props. Set Dressing Not only can we help to create and build your set to match your creative brief, we can also dress it too. With experience of prop sourcing and buying, to working on-set and getting skilled specialists on board, we can help you with the entire process and in bringing it all together. 10 The Workshop Based out of a 4,000 sqft workshop on York Way, just 5 minutes walk from the main studios. The workshop is run by a team of highly skilled set builders and houses wood, metal and paint shops. If you d like to visit us please speak to your producer to pre-book an appointment. Delivery / On Location We can bring materials to build the flats on location providing prep days are booked. Textured and/or scenic painted flats will have to be pre-built (8 x 12 at the biggest). Delivery cost is dependent on location, and distance from workshop by postcode. For most London locations we charge 50 +VAT for drop off and/or pick up if the flats have been hired and not bought. Sets Storage / Disposal If you d like to keep your set stored at Big Sky Studios for future use, please contact us for a quote. For larger sets, we may arrange for them to be stored outside London. We can also arrange the disposal of your set should you wish it. Generally we can do this at no additional cost to ones we ve built. However in the case of a larger set the cost of a skip would be added to your bill. Let us know if you require any of these services in advance and we ll talk through options.
