3 BATTERY INSTALLATION Whn th battry powr bgins to fail th low battry symbol will appar on th LCD. Rplac th 9V battry by following ths stps. 1. Opn th rar battry compartmnt to accss th battry 2. Rplac th 9V battry, carfully scuring th battry in th compartmnt 3. Scurly fastn th compartmnt covr 4. Ensur that th compartmnt covr is scurly fastnd bfor using th mtr METER DESCRIPTION 1. Photo dtctor (Light Snsor): Th snsor contains a long lif silicon photo diod 2. MAX-LUX/fc function button: Prss button momntarily to viw th maximum (MAX) rading. Prss th button momntarily again to rlas th MAX display and rturn to th normal oprating mod. Prss and hold this button for at last 2 sconds to switch btwn LUX and fc (foot candl) units of masur. Not that 1fc = LUX). 3. LCD Backlight Control Snsor: Th mtr switchs th LCD backlight ON and OFF automatically basd on nvironmntal lighting conditions. 4. LCD display: 1999 count, backlit LCD with LUX, fc, MAX, and low battry icons. 5. Powr button: Prss to switch th unit ON or OFF. Not: Battry compartmnt and tripod mount locatd on rar of instrumnt

4 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Turn Powr ON or OFF Prss th button to turn powr on or off. If th display dos not switch on, chck that a 9V battry is installd and is frsh. Slcting LUX or Foot candl (fc) units of masur Prss and hold th MAX-LUX/fc button for at last 2 sconds to switch btwn LUX and Fc units. Masurmnt Procdur 1. Switch th mtr ON and position th light snsor to captur th light that is to b masurd. 2. Th display will indicat th light lvl in Fc or LUX units. 3. Th mtr automatically slcts th corrct rang. If th OL icon appars, th light masurmnt is out of rang and cannot b masurd accuratly. 4. If th x10 or x100 indicator appars, multiply th displayd valu by th corrsponding multiplir to obtain th corrct masurmnt valu. Max Hold Momntarily prss th MAX-LUX/fc button to viw th highst rading (MAX) ncountrd sinc th mtr was last switchd ON. Prss th button again to rturn to th normal oprating mod. To rst th MAX rading, switch th mtr OFF and thn ON again. Backlight Th mtr automatically controls th LCD backlighting (ON and OFF) to match th availabl nvironmntal lighting. 4
