1 Scheme of work: Co-teaching AS and A- level (1 year) This Scheme of work provides ideas on teaching our A-level Music specification over two years. It also includes advice to help you co-teach the AS Music specification in the first year. Content is listed under headings to indicate whether relevant to AS, A-level or both. Year 12 (Co-teaching) Autumn 1 AoS1 Explore the Baroque Solo Concerto Strand. Focus on listening skills, musical features and contextual knowledge. Optional AoSA Initial exploration of all bulleted composers and Introduce performance diary, focus on: rehearsal aims and targets preparation for performances reviews on performances seen/heard and impacting their own performance programme notes on their pieces final repertoire decisions and monitoring the timing of the programme production preparation and progress Establishment and of key compositional skills including: rhythmic character strong melodic character and harmonic outline/direction melodic use and timbre of instrumental resources use of overall textures and instrumental textures structure and phrasing

Performance of recital repertoire a minimum of ten minutes of music. For production a minimum of ten minutes of music all midi and audio recorded. Focus on the Technical Control Performance Accuracy of pitch, intonation, rhythm, quality of tone, breathing, diction, bowing, pedalling. Production Accuracy of pitch, rhythm, articulation, phrasing, clarity of sound capture. Feedback for with target setting. Performance of recital repertoire a minimum of ten minutes of music. For production a minimum of ten minutes of music production and mixing Completion of free Introduction of composition briefs and initial exploration of ideas.
