LANGUAGE : VERB TENSES ADJECTIVES PRONOUNS QUANTIFIERS COACHING JUNE 2013 ENGLISH FORM 2 Use and formation of the present simple, present continuous, past simple, past continuous, past perfect, future simple, future forms (going to and all present continuous) and present perfect. Use and formation of comparative and superlative adjectives. Use of different types of pronouns especially relative pronouns. Use of some, any, (a) little, (a) few, much, many and a lot (of). SPELLING Look up and copy the definitions of the following : There/their, than/then, where/were/ wear, here/hear, now/know, thought/taught, its/it s and who s/whose. Write a sentence for each word. MODAL VERBS OF OBLIGATION DIRECT SPEECH/REPORTED SPEECH CONDITONAL FORMS 1 st and 2 nd (selection) 2. READING Read at least one book a week. Write a REVIEW about at least 4 of the books read. 3. WRITING 1 st person Write a story called An Incredible Journey. Narrative - Write a story starting with the words : Crash! Boom! Write a story called The House on the Hill DESCRIPTIVE - Describe your lucky charm - Describe your typical summer s day - Describe your favourite public holiday Choose at least 2 from both sections paying particular attention to LINKING WORDS/PHRASES AND PARAGRAPHING, GRAMMAR,PUNCTUATION, SPELLING. 4. LITERATURE LITERARY TERMS- Define the following : Metaphor, simile, personification, onomatopoeia, alliteration and rhyming couplets. Include 2 examples of each one from the poems you studied in Form 2 for each one.
