2 Instructions: This is the second of the Libraries Rock: Summer Reading Booklets for Tweens (intermediate and advanced readers 8 to 12 years). To complete this Summer Reading Booklet, you will fill in the July calendar with the number of minutes that you read. The page after the calendar has a Summer Reading Points Chart. Every 15 minutes that you read equals 10 points. You will total your weekly points here. Don t worry if you forget to read for a few days, there are other ways that you can earn your Summer Reading Points. The booklet is made up of categories: Water, Fossils, Rock Paper Scissors, and Health. You can earn 50 points for each completed category in the packet. To complete each category, you will read one book (suggestions are listed for you) and complete at least 2 of the activities. The weekly Summer Reading Events for children and families are listed on the events schedule before the calendar. You can earn 50 points for each event that you attend. Our weekly Storytimes are also worth 50 points each. To complete this packet, you must attend at least 2 Summer Reading Events/Storytimes. Additional Summer Reading Events and Storytimes that you attend can be counted as bonus points. The Book Bingo page after the Points Chart is also worth 100 bonus points. For more library events, pick up a calendar from our front desk. When you have completed the booklet, attended the events, and totaled up your reading points in the Summer Reading Points Chart, you should have at least 750 points for this second half. You will turn in this booklet to the Children s Help Desk, where the librarian will add your points to our Summer Reading Stats. After completing this second packet, you will receive a book and will be eligible to enter our Summer Reading Prize drawing. Children 0 to 11 can get their book from one of our Children s Librarians. Make sure that you bring in the attached certificate to get it signed. Packets are due by August 11th, Contact us at: (435) or uintahlibrary.org for more information
