3 The Cast Andy Hobart...Joey Folsom Norman Cornell...Joe Cucinotti Sophie Rauschmeyer...Marla Jo Kelly The Production Staff Invest in Rover! As we continue our Season, Rover Dramawerks continues to experience incredible growth! We are in our ninth year of production, presenting six exciting full length mainstage shows (our next one a World Premiere in the Courtyard Theater!) and two One Day Only 24-hour play festivals, not to mention all of our classes (for kids and adults). However, with growth comes more expense, and we need your help. Ticket sales cover only a small part of the cost of a production. Won t you consider making a tax deductible donation to Rover Dramawerks? We will be forever in your debt. Rover is also looking for people who want to help get the word out about Rover to sponsors, philanthropists, and organizations throughout Plano and the surrounding communities. Please contact Artistic Director Carol M. Rice at carol@roverdramawerks.com for more information. (Feel free to send to Ms. Rice with kudos, questions, or concerns about anything Rover related, too!) Or if you just want to enjoy the show, that's great! We need and appreciate your support and hope to see you in our audience again soon. Be sure to buy your season tickets! And please join us on Thursday, January 29 after the show at the ArtCentre of Plano (just down the street) for a reception with the cast, director, and designers, as well as many of the Rover Board. We d love to get to know you! These receptions are every Second Thursday of each show, so mark your calendars now! Director...Carol M. Rover's Mission Searching for treasures, new and rediscovered, for theatre "off the beaten path." Rover Dramawerks produces lost or forgotten works of well-known authors, revives excellent scripts that have suffered from lack of exposure, and discovers unknown gems of the stage.

4 Who's Who Jenifer Balch is proud to be serving as the newly elected President of the Board for Rover Dramawerks. By day, Jenifer assists clients with legal needs arising in a variety of contexts with the firm of Curran Tomko Taski LLP. While Jenifer has no desire to be on stage, she has developed an unexpected passion for producing; this is her second show as a producer. As producer, Jenifer is able to utilize her full geekness in organization! Jenifer is thankful for the personal support of her Rover friends as well as that of her son Daniel and her friend Michelle. Joe Cucinotti (pronounced KOO-CHIN-NAUGHTY...YEAH BABY!) returns for his third show with Rover. He was last seen working as the AD/SM for An Infinite Ache directed by Lisa Devine. Some of Joe s previous roles include his award-winning portrayal of Eddie McCuen in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 for Allen High School. There was also his chilling depiction of Eddie McCuen in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 for Garland Civic Theatre. And let us not forget his whimsical work as Eddie McCuen in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 for Rover Dramawerks. (Can you say "diversity"?) Every weeknight for the past nine years, Mr. Cucinotti has been heard on Mix where he worked under the name Joe Kelly. He has recently finished writing his first stage musical entitled The Rise and Fall of Radio Through the Eyes of Rose Kelly, which he will be self-producing/directing later this year. He sends a very warm thanks to his friends and family for their unwavering support. And a special thanks to his fellow cast and crew for such a killer time. Joey Folsom is pursuing a BA in Theater Performance at the University of North Texas and is delighted to be working with Rover. He s been seen on stage as Johnny Pat in The Cripple of Inishmaan, Puck in A Midsummer Night s Dream for Stolen Shakespeare Guild, Georgie in Jesus Hates Me at Kitchen Dog, Eddie in Fool for Love and most recently as Donner in The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, both for Sundown Collaborative Theatre. Recently he directed Anthony Burgess s A Clockwork Orange, which was named DFW s second ballsiest production of the year by Pegasus News. While working on The Star-Spangled Girl, Joey has also been preparing for the role of Dan in Closer for Shank Productions in Denton. Tiffany Hillan is a Junior at the University of North Texas studying Theatre, French, Photography, and Secondary Education. She is a board member and President of Sundown Collaborative Theatre in Denton. Tiffany is very grateful to have been invited to become part of The Star-Spangled Girl, her first Rover Dramawerks show. Her previous shows as Stage Manager include Anthony Burgess's A Clockwork TÅu tçvx W véü Historic Downtown Plano 1010 E. 15 th St. Plano, TX (469) Monday-Saturday 10am 6pm Distinctive Home Décor and Furnishings Receive 10% off any one item by showing this ad! MBS PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS A New Drama by Tamayo y Baus, January 29 February 14, 2009 Love. Passion. Deception. Murder. Set in Shakespeare's globe theatre, a troupe of actors is preparing to perform a new drama. What they don't know is that the new play mirrors their lives. As relationships form and illicit love affairs bloom they soon discover that the play they are rehearsing will reveal their secrets. Can they overcome the inevitable conclusion of the play or will a new ending be created? Thrill at what is considered by many as the play that gave birth to modern theatre. It will leave you breathless. We ll have a special Valentine's show with chocolates & roses. 5 Tuscan Lights 1018 E. 15th St. Plano, TX (972) Unique and distinctive wine room and home accent furnishings rarely seen elsewhere. Featuring Honeycomb Calcite, a natural stone mined in Utah and carved in Texas, and the 1803 Cellar Works brand of wood furnishings exclusive to Tuscan lights. New to Historic Downtown Plano! Orange, Fool for Love (both with Sundown), and Little Shop of Horrors (McKinney Repertory Theater). She would like to thank her family, friends, and most of all her loving husband for being so ridiculously supportive. Terrie W. Justus has been a part of the Rover scene since 2002, as a performer, properties designer, producer, and board member. She has performed in Lady Windermere s Fan, two productions of War of the Worlds, Greasy Spork at WaterTower s Out of the Loop Festival, Little Footsteps, and The Runner Stumbles. She appeared in the title role of this season s opening production of Veronica s Room, for which she achieved critical acclaim, and was named one of the top ten performances of the year in Pegasus News. She served as producer for the regional premiere of Morphic Resonance, and has provided props for Claptrap, Spider s Web, Love from a Stranger, Surviving Grace, and The Runner Stumbles. Finding props for this production has been like a trip down memory lane, being one of the few involved in the production who actually survived The 60s! Marla Jo Kelly is a Cum Laude graduate of Texas Wesleyan University with a degree in Theatre Arts. There, she was awarded the Johnson Garrett Musical Theatre Award. Most recently, she portrayed Young Margot DeCosta in Theatre Three s production of Look What s Happened to Pixie DeCosta! Favorite roles include Thelma in Fort Worth Theatre s The Trip to Bountiful, Tiara in The Pocket Sandwich Theatre s Atomic Cavegirls of Island Zero, and Suzanne in Runway Theatre s Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Ms. Kelly currently works at the Art Institute of Dallas. She would like to thank her family and friends for their love and support. Paul McKenzie is pleased to be backstage at Rover again. Paul's costuming work was last seen in Veronica's Room. Paul's work has been seen around the Metroplex at Garland Civic Theatre, Pegasus Theatre, and Richardson Theatre Centre. Thanks to the Rover family for welcoming me back again!

6 This is Bill Parr's first production with Rover in many years, and he is happy to be getting to work with friends he has known since before its inception, as well as, getting to meet new, memorable friends. With a more extensive background in theater than he will ever talk about, Bill enjoys the distraction that theater provides from the work day. In addition to using his creative abilities to remember his college apartment, Bill enjoys showing those who don't know any better about the meaning of theater. Bill serves The Nor'kirk Presbyterian in Carrollton teaching scripture to its congregation. Sarah Quiroz is a student at the University of North Texas pursuing a B.A. in theater. This is her first show with Rover Dramawerks and she is excited to be a part of this production. In Denton, Sarah is involved with Sundown Collaborative Theater and is looking forward to Asst. Directing True West this spring. She hopes you enjoy the show! Carol M. Rice is the Artistic Director of Rover Dramawerks, as well as one of the cofounders, and has been involved in some way with every show Rover has done. She most recently directed last season s smash hits Shakespeare in Hollywood and Gilligan s Island: the Musical. Some of her other favorite directing efforts include Morphic Resonance, Noises Off, Witness for the Prosecution, The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (abridged), and Lady Windermere s Fan, and she will be directing Epic Proportions for Rover later this season. Carol is also a produced playwright, and her World Premiere adaption of Jules Verne s Around the World in 80 Days will be seen at the Courtyard Theater (next door) in March! Despite her absolute love of theatre, her favorite roles are Wife to best friend Jason and Mommy to Stephen and Scott. Take Advantage of Our Captive Audience! He has designed sound for such shows as Veronica s Room, Mary s Wedding, Private Eyes, The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (abridged), Night Must Fall, The Glass Menagerie and Light Up the Sky. He has received awards for acting and sound design, and he has written several custom murder mysteries and oneact plays. Jason has composed music for both live theatre and video, receiving the Aegis Award for his original composition for Matt Kaufman s film short Willoughby. Some of the plays he has directed for Rover include The Baltimore Waltz, The Runner Stumbles, Bags, and War of the Worlds, and he will be directing Around the World in 80 Days next. As much fun as theater is, Jason s favorite role is Daddy to 7-year-old Stephen and 4½-year-old Scott. What s my motivation for Because I said so!? This is Pamela J. Schamberger s first production with Rover. She first started, however, doing shows with Carol in the musical Don t Count Your Chickens Until They Cry Wolf and also appeared with her in Wrens. After a ten-year hiatus, she is so pleased to be working with Carol again and with Rover! She is especially thankful to Carol for helping her with her appeal. 8 Up Next For Rover... a World Premiere by Carol M. Rice adapted from the novel by Jules Verne March 5-21, 2009 In the age of steamships and locomotives, the once immense world has arguably shrunk to the point that an audacious bank robber could escape to any quarter of it undetected. In the same vein, a gentleman of means claims he can circumnavigate the world in the unheard of time of 80 days. Had a less dispassionate man suggested the adventure, he might be accused of folly and dissuaded, but Phileas Fogg is a man of precise methodical process. He has made a wager, and he intends to win it. Sponsored by Gay, McCall, Isaacks, Gordon & Roberts, P.C. INTERNATIONAL WINE SHOPPE IN DOWNTOWN PLANO 1016 E. 15th Street, Plano, Texas, We offer a variety of wines from all around the world in addition to a nice selection of beers. We also specialize in Texas souvenirs and gifts! Don't miss our popular Sunday afternoon wine tastings (call us to reserve). Take 10% off any one item with this ad!
