3 Two Rooms by Lee Blessing November 1-17, 2007 An American professor has been taken hostage in Beirut, where he is being held and tortured in a small room. Back in the States, his wife imposes her own form of self-inflicted torture in a second room, stripped of furnishings, that was once his den. It is within the confines of these two rooms that the play unfolds. THE RUNNER STUMBLES by Milan Stitt April 3-26, 2008 A young nun has died under mysterious circumstances, and Father Rivard has been charged with her murder. Interrogations, testimony, and flashbacks reveal that their relationship was doomed from the start, but not until the explosive and surprising climax of the play is the full extent of their sacrifice made clear and the identity of the murderer revealed. Mary s Wedding by Stephen Massicotte July 17 - August 9, 2008 Set in Canada immediately before, during, and after World War I, Mary's Wedding is a story of two young lovers told as flashbacks within a dream. Unbound by time, unabashedly romantic, and distinctly contemporary in theatrical style and setting, this beautiful, award-winning love story has captivated audiences all over North America. Once you see it, you will know precisely why Season An Infinite Ache by David Schulner January 17 - February 9, 2008 Hope and Charles are a pair of lonely twenty-somethings about to end a supremely uninteresting first date. But just as they say good night, the myriad possibilities of their futures and a life shared together come rushing to meet them. From their first kiss to their first child, from a horrible tragedy to a second chance, each moment moves with breath-taking speed. A love story about time and the infinite directions in which two lives can travel. Grotesque Lovesongs by Don Nigro June 5-28, 2008 In this quirky comedy, Johnny has just inherited a ton of money from a family friend, his brother wants to know why, his mother doesn t want to tell him, and his fiancée just wants to forget her two failed marriages and get on with her third. Shakespeare in Hollywood by Ken Ludwig September 11 - October 4, 2008 It's 1934, and Shakespeare's most famous fairies, Oberon and Puck, have magically materialized on the Warner Bros. Hollywood set of Max Reinhardt's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Instantly smitten by the glitz and glamour of show biz, the two are ushered onto the silver screen to play (who else?) themselves. With a little help from a feisty flower, blonde bombshells, movie moguls, and arrogant "asses" are tossed into loopy love triangles, with raucous results. PLUS Rover returns with our famous 24-hour play festivals at the Courtyard Theatre! An Infinite Ache by David Schulner January 17 - February 9, 2008 Hope and Charles are a pair of lonely twenty-somethings about to end a supremely uninteresting first date. But just as they say good night, the myriad possibilities of their futures and a life shared together come rushing to meet them. 4 Who's Who Misty Baptiste is thrilled to be reprising this role after playing the role in Rover's production for the AACT Festival. During the day (and a lot of evenings) Misty loves her job as a High School Theatre teacher at Liberty Christian School in Argyle. She would like to send out a lot of love to her family, friends, students, and Bryan and would like to dedicate the show to Jaysin, who embodies hope, love, and devotion and would put us all to shame with his faith in people. This is Jerame Browning's first production with Rover. Earlier production works include stage management for Chalky White Substance and In Fireworks Lie Secret Codes at TWU. Other credits include Donalbain (Macbeth), Charlie Fox (Speed-the-Plow), and Nihm (The Merry Wives of Windsor). Matt Gunther is returning to the stage after many years spent happily watching his kids grow, coaching soccer, attending school plays and band functions, and everything in between. After many church sketches and a couple of tasty nuggets called One Day Only, the call was too much and he succumbed. He is glad to be joining Rover Dramawerks once again. Adam Hargrove s production credits include: Costume Design of Charlotte's Web at Plano Repertory Theatre, Director of Search & Destroy at Texas Wesleyan University, Falstaff in The Merry Wives of Windsor at TWU, Director of The Bald Soprano at Boswell High School, and Costume Design of You're A Good Man Charlie Brown at BHS. Adam received his BFA from Texas Wesleyan University and currently teaches High School Theatre at Boswell High School in Saginaw. Beth Hargrove returns to Rover Dramawerks after having previously served as Assistant Stage Manager for Private Lives and Director for One Day Only. Directing credits include: Chalky White Substance and In Fireworks Lie Secret Codes at TWU, and Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse and Cinderella at Plano Repertory Theatre. Other credits include: Assistant Director for The Winter's Tale with Shakespeare Dallas, Scenic Artist for Macbeth with Shakespeare Dallas, Dramaturgy for Waiting For Godot with Risk Theatre Initiative, Dramaturgy for Cyrano at Plano Repertory Theatre, and Assistant Director for Museum at TWU. Beth received a BFA from Texas Wesleyan University and currently serves as Assistant to the Faculty and Dean in the School of Arts & Sciences at TWU. New Adult Acting Class! Acting Through Movement Saturdays, January 5 through February 9, 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. $ if enrolled by November 30 $ after November 30 ($25.00 discount for returning Rover Dramawerks students!) In this six week course, you will learn the method of character development via physicalization. While many actors focus on the internal and emotional mechanism of acting, it is also essential for the audience to be able to visualize and thus experience the character as a separate entity from the actor. In this class, we will focus on methods of getting in touch with the use of the body, the development of a character s physical portrait, the development of physical tics or traits indicative of the character, how physicalization can affect the emotional state of the character, thereby creating a convincing physical presence in which the actor disappears behind the character. The class will include a low impact, body strengthening warm-up at the beginning of each session, allowing the actor to become more limber and flexible and gain control of the body. At the end of the course, all actors will perform a monologue and/or short play. Mark-Brian Sonna has worked in the field of Dance, Theatre, and Television for over 25 years. He was a principal dancer for various north Texas Ballet companies, and is the Artistic Director of MBS Productions. Besides producing, choreographing, and directing theatre, he has served as a consultant with various theatres in the area of movement technique for the actor. As a performer, he is particularly known for his ability to physically "disappear" behind his characters. Classes will be held at the ArtCentre of Plano, 1029 East 15th Street in historic downtown Plano, just three blocks east of Rover Dramawerks performance venue at the Cox Building Playhouse. Visit for enrollment forms and information. Joslyn Justus is thrilled to take on the challenging role of Lainie in Two Rooms. She was last seen on stage as Marie in Rover's premiere of Frame 312, opposite Shane Strawbridge. Joslyn has also been involved backstage on The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 as well as

5 Private Eyes. Following this production she will be assistant directing An Infinite Ache with Lisa Devine (be sure to check it out). She would like to thank her friends and family who have helped her run lines and just been there for support. Shane Strawbridge is excited to be involved with Two Rooms. This is Shane's 4th show with Rover Dramawerks, having worked on Frame 312 (Tom), Surviving Grace (Sound Design), and One Day Only 9 (Director, The Life and Times of St. Robert Donnelly of Tijuana). Some of his favorite roles include Baker (Into the Woods), Major General Stanley (Pirates of Penzance), Hucklebee (The Fantasticks), Father Rivard (The Runner Stumbles), Dr. Gregg (Gallantry), and Quintin Sustinian (An Extremely Normal Man). Shane holds a BM in Instrumental Education from Howard Payne University. Bryan Stevenson is an Assistant Professor of Theatre and Technical Director at Texas Wesleyan University. He holds a BFA in Technical Theatre from Texas Wesleyan University and a MFA in Lighting Design from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. Bryan has designed for many local theatres including Stage West, Fort Worth Shakespeare in the Park, Jubilee, and Plano Rep. Bryan is also a member of the United States Institute of Theatre Technology and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 126. Amanda West recently designed lights for A Brief History of White Music and The Great American Trailer Park Musical (Out of the Loop Festival) for WaterTower Theatre. She also designed the set for The Crucible at Tarrant County College NE Campus. Other companies designed for include:stage West, Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre, Plano Repertory Theatre, Artisan Center Theatre, Duncanville Community Theatre, Tarrant County College SE Campus, STARS Theatre Company. Amanda received her BFA from Texas Wesleyan University.

6 Rover Needs You Rover Dramawerks is experiencing incredible growth! marks our third full season at the Cox Building Playhouse and our seventh year of production. We will be presenting six full length mainstage shows and two One Day Only 24-hour play festivals in the upcoming year, and we re very excited about it! However, with such amazing growth comes more expense. We want to continue presenting quality theatre and increasing our visibility in the Plano area, but we need your help to do so. Ticket sales cover only a fraction of the cost of a production. Won t you consider making a tax deductible donation to Rover Dramawerks? No amount is too small, and we would be forever in your debt. Exciting Rover News! Rover Dramawerks is excited to offer our patrons what we think will be the theatrical event of 2008, the Regional Premiere of Mary's Wedding. After months of negotiation, it has become possible to secure the rights, and because Rover has wanted to produce this show for some time, we felt it necessary to change our season so that we could include this astonishing and wonderful piece. Rover is also looking for new board members! If you are interested in making theatre happen, please let us know! We especially need people who are great at getting the word out about Rover to sponsors, philanthropists, and organizations throughout Plano. Please contact board President Carol Rice at carol@roverdramawerks.com for more information. If you aren t sure board membership is for you, there are other ways to get involved. You can buy an ad or volunteer your services or sponsor a show or audition or help build sets or sign up for adult or children s classes. We will find a way to use your talents! Or if you just want to watch the show, that's great! We need you and hope to see you in our audience again soon. Be sure to buy your season tickets! Support Rover There are so many ways to support Rover Dramawerks! Use GoodSearch.com when surfing the web, and Rover gets about a penny per search! Use GoodSearch Shopping when you shop online, and Rover gets a percentage of your purchase! Get your Kroger Share Card at the box office and use it each time you shop! Or link your Tom Thumb Reward Card to Rover! Just fill out an application at the store's Courtesy Booth including our account number, Visit and go to our Contribute page to see all the ways you can support us, including Tax Deductible Donations! Rover Dramawerks would be nothing without our loyal supporters. Thank you! We appreciate you more than you will ever know. July 17 - August 9, 2008 Stephen Massicotte's first full-length play and winner of the 2000 Alberta Playwriting Competition and the 2002 Betty Mitchell Award for Best New Play. Set in Canada immediately before, during, and after World War I, Mary's Wedding is a story of two young lovers told as flashbacks within a dream. Unbound by time, unabashedly romantic, and distinctly contemporary in theatrical style and setting, this beautiful love story has captivated regional theaters for the past few years and once you see it, you will know precisely why. It takes something truly exceptional to get a busy company excited enough to change their season. * Mary's Wedding is exactly that. *Mary's Wedding replaces the previously announced Veronica's Room, by Ira Levin.
