Old Missouri Every True Son/Daughter Fight Tiger From a 12-man cadet band in 1885, to debuting the block M ormation in 19, to perorming the amous Flip Tigers drill irst in 1960, to selling in even greater numbers upon oining the Southeastern Conerence, the noble past o is yours to carry. Stout # U Ï The original 1970s Missouri Fanare (or Frankare ) as rearranged by the late ohn Stout o the University o Michigan in 199. Listen closely; you can hear strains o our ight songs, and the Waltz, and our Alma Mater in this anare. The music crescendos up to the announcement o MARCHING MIZZOU, m. and ends ith a horn pop on the inal measure. Be careul articulating the triplets and rapid eighths, and atch the cutos. This is our state song, adopted in 199 during the P r e s i d e n c y o Harry S. Truman. We commissioned it rom ohn Stout o the University o Michigan in 199. The irst hal is perormed ith a heavy sing and marched ith our unique Waltz Step. The second hal cut time is straight and bright, ending ith GO! FIGHT! WIN! TIGERS! We e a t u r e t h e abulous Golden Girls (ormed in 1965), our eature tirlers (created in 198), and the color guard ith this unmistakable interpretation o Survivor s 1982 hit. Warren Bass perorms as eature tirler, 196 Knon or his 100 t. high tosses The to-time U.S. National Baton Tirling champion started tirling ith a broom in an alley. Carl E. Bolte, r. has insatiable spirit and enthusiasm or the Tigers and or our band; he reers to us as Marvelous. Among Mr. Bolte s many compositions are ive plays, 11 musicals, and a march or the USPS, We re the U.S Postal Service. This secondary ight song, Cheer, is h i s p r o u d e s t contribution to M2. Revised 199, 2019 rit. 15 #. U In Spring 1895, Mizzou s irst glee club asked Dr. George Armstrong Wauchope to rite an Alma Mater. Wauchope, an English proessor, rote the ords in a single night. The tune Annie Lisle as chosen by to glee club members together ith a proessor s ie on piano. It as perormed or a e years and then lost hen the club disbanded; luckily, the pianist, Mrs.. C. ones, kne the ords by heart and restarted the club, saving the song. Play our grand arrangement ith pride and beauty. The irst ending is rarely taken. Our irst ight song is set to the WWI tune It s a L o n g W a y t o Tipperary ; the origin o the lyrics is unclear. In 196, MU sa that post-wwii school spirit as don, and so they held a contest or a second ight song.
