1 SECTION INTEGRATED AUDIO-VIDEO SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 SECTION SUMMARY A. This Section includes the Audio-Video equipment coordination and installation for the Nevada State College. The scope under this section includes the new Student Activities and Administration Building and the Nursing Science Education Building. B. The Audio-Visual Contractor (AVC) in receipt of this design specification, the associated IFB, and all contract documents acknowledges that he has reviewed the information contained herein and the information is sufficient to enable the Contractor to accurately bid the project and complete the work as described in the time allotted for the price agreed to with and accepted by the Owner and Consultant. This includes all work, whether or not specifically described in the design specification package, which reasonably may be expected or required to present a complete installation that is both fully functional and in compliance with all applicable laws, codes, rules, and regulations applicable to this project. C. The AVC shall be responsible for ensuring that it is fully aware of the expectation of the contract documents as well as the location and condition of the work site, any specific conditions and limitations of the Site, and any other influences that may affect the work as outlined in the design specification. D. Claims for additional time or additional compensation as a result of The AVC s failure to familiarize itself with all local conditions and the contract documents will not be accepted or approved. E. The AVC is to provide all labor, materials, transportation and equipment to complete the installation, furnishing, assembly, set up, and testing of the audio, video, and integrated control systems work indicated on the associated AV drawings and specified herein. Notwithstanding any detailed information in this section, provide complete, working equipment. Contractor will provide all materials and assemblies and other such work that is required, whether or not specifically mentioned in these specifications. All equipment shall be completely installed with all the necessary interconnection and wiring to provide fully functioning systems. F. The AVC is to coordinate with GC/EC for all conduits inclusive of junction boxes and pull-wires. Where not included under the EC scope of supply, AVC to supply and install required conduit and/or cable routing. G. Related sections include the following: 1. Division 27 Communications 2. Owner s telecommunications cabling standards 3. Drawings and general provisions of Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions, Special Conditions, and all front end Specification sections apply to work specified in this section. 4. Existing Finance Lab Video Wall, World Clock, and Ticker specifications. 1.2 DEFINITIONS A. The following definitions shall apply herein. SAA and NSE Buildings Integrated Audio-Video Systems

The term by others shall refer to material and work that is related to this A/V sub-contract and for which the AVC is not responsible except as otherwise detailed herein. Some or all of these items may be included in the overall Electrical Contract or GC s scope. 9. The term OFE shall refer to Owner Furnished Equipment, which shall be provided by the Owner to the AVC. The AVC shall be responsible for installing and integrating this equipment as detailed herein. 10. The term NIC shall mean Not in Contract, which the Owner or other contractors may provide. The AVC shall be responsible for providing cabling, plates, and other infrastructure as indicated on the drawings and herein so as to provide plug and play ready installation of all NIC equipment. B. The basis for terminology used in this document is standard construction and sound & communications industries practices and that of IEEE/ANSI WORK BY OTHERS A. Conduits, wireways, connection boxes, pull boxes, junction boxes, combined services floor boxes and outlet boxes permanently installed in floors, walls, and ceilings. B. All electrical breaker panels, motorized breaker panels, and power receptacles necessary to bring power to the audiovisual systems equipment racks and to devices in the project as indicated in the drawings. C. Room lighting fixtures, dimmers, power receptacle outlets, and interconnecting wiring for these circuits. D. Structural work, wall openings, platforms, railings, stairs, fire prevention and safety devices, rough and finished trim, painting and patching, drapes, carpets, floor coverings, computer floors, glazing, acoustical treatments, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems unless noted otherwise. E. Moveable furniture, desks, and chairs unless noted otherwise. F. Provision and Installation of Motorized Projection Screens and back boxes. (AVC shall install control cabling to screens) G. See Construction Documents for reference to items marked Not in Contract and/or by others. 1.4 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS A. The AV Contractor shall study the drawings and familiarize himself with the Work of the entire project scope. The Work of this section shall be carefully organized and programmed so that its SAA and NSE Buildings Integrated Audio-Video Systems

3 progress shall be concurrent with the work of all other trades and so that the work shall proceed as expeditiously as possible. B. The AV Contractor shall be responsible for the correct placing of the work of this section, equipment to fit into the structure as built, and attachment of equipment to the work of all other trades and Owner furnished equipment and facilities. C. Install all equipment to industry safety and ergonomic standards and provide full engineering and technical support throughout the installation process. D. The functional interconnections of the audio, video, and control systems shall comply with the manufacturer s system installation guidelines, industry standard practices, and as specified herein. E. It shall be the responsibility of the AV Contractor to coordinate with those performing related work and to interface other systems with the Work of this section. The AV Contractor shall ensure that the work by others shall integrate properly with the Work of this section and that all such work collectively complies with all requirements as specified herein 1. Coordination shall include providing timely submittal and field coordination of mounting requirements, dimensions, and any other information required by other trades. 2. Maintain constant communications with all designated personnel of the CM and attend all construction meetings as requested by the CM. F. The AV Contractor shall generate all shop drawings and information for the complete installation and wiring of the system. The AV Contractor shall provide Pull Schedules and Riser Diagrams for the on-site installation and wiring and shall provide on-going supervision and coordination during the implementation phase. The AVC shall provide pre- printed wire labels numerically organized for signal type and cable count according to the engineering documentation & shop drawings. G. The AV Contractor shall be responsible for the comprehensive adjustment of the systems as specified herein and shall provide all test equipment for the system checkout and acceptance tests. Adjust and balance all circuits as specified herein. Set all controls and software parameters to render fully and optimally operating systems and subsystems. All computer controlled functions shall require complete audio/computer/software setup, balancing, label-entry and documentation. H. SCOPE OF WORK 1. Provide a complete and functioning audiovisual system (A/V), software, and training to meet or exceed the performance document. 2. Provide materials, labor, and equipment including but not limited to: a. The delivery, unloading, setting in place, fastening to walls, floors, ceilings, counters, or other structures where required. b. Provide low voltage cable as per A/V drawings or as required to deliver a fully functional system. c. Final terminations, dressing, and testing of all A/V cabling inclusive of cables pulled by others. d. Interconnecting wiring of the system components and equipment alignment and adjustment. e. All equipment as shown in the drawings, BOM, and herein. f. All interconnection cable, connectors, terminal strips, wireway, flexible conduit, raceways, etc. to facilitate the A/V systems as detailed in the drawings and herein. g. Coordinate sizes with wall and floor box manufacturers and provide all custom connector panels required as detailed in the drawings and herein. SAA and NSE Buildings Integrated Audio-Video Systems

4 h. All other work whether or not expressly specified herein and on the drawings to provide complete operational turnkey systems. I. DESIGN STANDARDS 1. The Owner s goal is to have the most commonly used A/V equipment integrated as a cohesive system. Therefore, part of the development efforts for successfully implementing the A/V systems should include: a. Installation of the system in a manner that will comply with BiCSi, ICIA and routing of all audio, video and control cabling elements of the final design in a subtle, unobtrusive manner to maintain the architectural and visual integrity of the building. b. Supply and install security covers on any electronics with front panel controls that should not need to be adjusted after initial set-up. All components permanently mounted to rack rail systems shall be installed with industry accepted security screws. c. Supply of 8 ½ x 11 Instruction Card, approved by the Owner, and laminated with step-by-step instructions outlining system operations for each room that has AV systems. Provide editable file of card to Owner. d. Secure all above finished ceiling (AFC) AV equipment to building structure. e. No more than 10% of rated lamp hours shall be expended for projection system setup at the time of final systems acceptance. Should more hours than this be expired, the AV contractor shall replace the lamp at no cost to the Owner. f. Supply of Intellectual Property Release with an editable version of all master source code for all digital signal processing, remote control or microprocessor-based systems included on this project installed on Owner- furnished personal computer and on portable media. g. Supply of any necessary audio, video, RGBHV, DVI/HDMI, USB, Ethernet, and control signal repeaters, extenders, and amplifiers for cable runs greater than specified signal maximums as needed to maintain required signal levels for receipt at destination device. h. All analog audio lines in excess of twenty feet shall be balanced at the source. i. Installation shall comply with all applicable codes and best practices. J. DISCREPANCIES 1. Where there is a discrepancy between drawings or between drawings and documents, the AV Contractor shall conform to the guidelines below. The AV Contractor shall consider all the information in combination and not consider one element alone to meet a minimum requirement. The guidelines are as follows: a. Floor and Ceiling plans indicate device locations b. Architectural, ID, and Electrical drawings indicate the location of all floor boxes, back box, and all conduit interconnect points as shall be installed as in infrastructure by the Electrical Contractor. These drawings are to inform the AVC as to all points within the facilities for cable and connector plate installation. c. A/V detailed block diagrams to indicate general signal flow and interconnection of devices, pin outs and signal levels. d. The A/V specifications delineate minimum performance requirements, methodologies, and the design intent. e. The BOM provides a general list of MAJOR equipment to be supplied. f. Where there is a conflict in number of devices, the document with the highest quantity shown shall govern. g. Where there is a conflict with the type of product shown, the product with the greater functionality, higher standard, and greater number of features shall govern. 5 h. It is the AVC s responsibility to use the IFB process during the bidding period to resolve any conflicts regarding quantities and pricing. Any failure to do so shall not relieve the AVC from providing a fully functional system as outlined. K. These specifications and the drawings do not necessarily indicate every single component part of each system. It is the responsibility of the AV Contractor to engineer each system and its interconnection in order to provide, furnish, and install completely operational turnkey systems. No error or omission herein or on any related Construction Documents shall relieve the AV Contractor from this responsibility to do so. 1.5 SUMMARY OF WORK A. GENERAL: The area of work under this section includes a new Student Activities and Administration Building and the Nursing Science Education Building. The expansion includes a large lecture hall, divisible meeting room with 3 spaces, 22 classrooms, and an executive conference room, and common areas. The expansion includes audio, video, and control systems as outlined below: 1. VIDEO PROJECTION SYSTEMS: All video projectors shall be bright enough so that room lighting does not need to be dimmed or turned off for easy student viewing. Stand-alone video projectors in all areas shall be capable of accepting direct digital video and control via a single CAT6A STP cable connection. Smart Board video projectors (OFE) shall require a digital video and control receiver box, connected via HDMI and either serial or LAN. The projection aspect ratio shall be 16:10 for all standalone projectors and screens. Projection screens shall be operated via contact closure via the integrated control system. 2. LECTURE CAPTURE: Rooms with a lecture capture system shall have the ability to record high definition video and audio of an entire teaching session. The capture system shall utilize an HD PTZ video camera and also be connected to the in-room presentation system to allow for simultaneous capture of the presented material and a real-time video feed of the instructor. The system shall be connected via the NSC data network and utilize the existing lecture capture storage and management server for archiving, organization, and internet streaming. 3. DIGITAL SIGNAGE: Several key locations shall include digital signage displays. Digital signage players shall be located at each display. The players shall be networked, but stand-alone and not dependent upon a content management system, cloud, or any sort of continuing licensing for programing or content. Players shall be capable of 4 hours of content storage time each. 4. INTEGRATED CONTROL: The controller shall offer simple control of all applicable AV equipment located within and adjacent to the venue. User controls may consist of any combination of push buttons, sliders, rotary knobs, and/or touch screen panels. All touch control interfaces shall present simple, clear control of all audio-visual components. All areas shall have remote network control capability meeting or exceeding the capabilities of that area s local control. Remote control shall be accessible via the NSC IT Wi-Fi network and accessible by PC, Android and ios devices. No Instructor function shall require more than two button presses to accomplish a desired task. Technician and Maintenance functions may require more than two button presses for any given task. The control system shall be integrated with the local AV system for centralized audio and video control. AVC to provide screen shots of all touch screens for approval by Owner and AV Consultant prior to programing implementation. The integrated control system shall also include remote monitoring and control software based on the control system manufacturer s cloud services, or through a qualified third party cloud service provider, to allow the NSC IT staff to access and monitor the system from anywhere. 6 5. LOCAL CONNECTION PANELS: An infrastructure of local connection panels in floor boxes shall be provided to allow simple connection of the teaching stations, microphones, or similar. Labeling for connections shall be white, engraved and black-filled. Labeling for rack connections shall be black, engraved and white-filled. All panels shall terminate either at patch bays in the IDF AV equipment racks, or directly to the classroom field devices, depending on the room type. 6. NETWORK: The AVC shall be responsible for installation and cabling, and assist in troubleshooting of OFE network switches for the audio, video and control systems within the teaching stations and IDF room AV equipment racks. The AVC shall coordinate network equipment with the NSC IT department for Owner purchase. In general, the network shall not require any VLAN or advanced configuration as only general data, control, and monitoring traffic exist within each local system, and at selected times file transfers from the lecture capture devices. NSC IT shall provide for any VLAN setup on their core switches if required. 7. STRUCTURED CABLING: Ethernet, speaker, wireless microphone, mic/line audio and other specialty AV cabling to be provided and installed by AVC. Ethernet UTP, STP and MATV Coax cabling not part of racks or local AV equipment shall be coordinated with the Low Voltage Contractor (LVC). Plenum cable to be used as required in all plenum spaces. 8. UPS SYSTEMS: All AV devices, with the exception of audio amplifiers, shall be powered from UPS systems. AVC shall provide UPS s at each system to supply enough reserve power for 15 minutes backup time. The UPS s shall also allow for remote control of individual outlets for remote power management via a web interface. The control systems shall also be programmed to display a warning to the user on the touch panel when the system is operating on UPS power and give an indication of remaining runtime. B. CLASSROOMS: The general classroom systems are designed to provide the instructor with an expedient and dependable digital media system to effectively connect the students with the teaching media. The systems are centered on a teaching station which is an ADA compliant lectern with motorized adjustable height controls and integrated equipment racks to house the audio visual equipment. The top of the teaching stations include ample work surface space and an integrated bridge that shall house a touch panel, auxiliary connections to the system and a lectern style microphone. The physical teaching stations shall be owner furnished and the AVC shall have ample production space to accept delivery of the stations for offsite integration of the AV equipment. 1. SOUND REINFORCEMENT AND PLAYBACK AUDIO SYSTEM: Classrooms shall include a sound reinforcement and playback audio system. The system shall consist of inceiling speakers, powered directly by the integrated control and AV switching system local to each classroom. The system shall be capable of supporting the sound reinforcement needs of a lectern mounted microphone and a wireless handheld or lapel microphone. The system shall also support the playback of AV media. Speakers shall be spaced so that there is no greater than +/- 2db variation in SPL anywhere in the student seating area of any room. Sound reinforcement shall include a high quality lectern mounted microphone and a single channel wireless microphone system with both handheld and lapel microphones available for use (one or the other at any given time). Control system touch panels shall include one button access from any page to a popup screen which shall present the instructor with three level controls to include Media Volume, Lectern Microphone, and Wireless Microphone. Input gain controls shall also be available on the Technician page for individual sources. Active audio sources shall always be simultaneously mixed to the audio auxiliary output to the lecture capture system. 2. VIDEO PROJECTION SYSTEM: Classrooms shall include a high definition video projection system that shall enable the instructor to connect their teaching media with students. The projectors and screens shall be 16:10 aspect ratio. The projectors shall SAA and NSE Buildings Integrated Audio-Video Systems

7 have a minimum native resolution of 1280x800 pixels. The projectors shall be either 4500 lumens or 6500 lumens minimum light output, depending on the classroom size. The projection system shall allow for video presentations, graphics, distance learning, physical media enlargement, etc. Via the touch panel, an instructor shall be able to select a video source to preview on their teaching station monitor, and then be able to route that source to the projector. Audio shall always follow the projected image. The projected image shall always be simultaneously sent to the lecture capture system. 3. INTEGRATED CONTROL AND AV SYSTEM: Classrooms shall include a single box integrated control and AV switching system. All AV sources shall be connected through this system for audio and video routing, monitoring, volume control, audio amplification, and control. Inputs and outputs shall include both analog and digital connections. A builtin audio amplifier shall provide direct connection to the ceiling speakers. Final video output and control to the projection system shall be via a single CAT6A STP cable directly from the system, with no intermediary devices. The system shall reside on the NSC network and be programmed for cloud monitoring and control access. The system shall control all connected devices either via LAN, serial, or HDMI CEC control. IR control is not acceptable. The system shall include a single 7 or larger touch panel mounted in the top of the teaching station. The AVC shall coordinate with the Owner s teaching station supplier to provide the proper cutout for the touch panel. 4. LECTURE CAPTURE SYSTEM: Some classrooms shall include a video and audio lecture capture system. The system shall be connected directly to an HD PTZ ceiling mounted video camera via two CAT6A STP cables for recording an image of the instructor. The system shall also accept a digital HD video and analog audio input from the AV switching system to capture the media source simultaneously. The system shall also be connected as an input source to the AV system so that playback of a lecture is possible. 5. MEDIA SOURCES: Classrooms shall have the ability to accept several different media sources for display by the instructor. a. PC and Monitor (OFE) an owner furnished PC shall be installed in the teaching station to allow for digital presentations, web content, playback of DVD s via the builtin DVD drive, live streaming of distance learning material, and USB media stick content. The AVC shall obtain the PC s from the owner and provide rack shelves for them. The PC shall utilize a touch screen monitor. The AVC shall install the PC s into the teaching stations and provide all necessary connection cabling including HDMI and USB cables for connection to the system as illustrated on the drawings. b. Document Camera the AVC shall supply and install an HD digital document camera for display of physical media. c. Auxiliary Inputs the AVC shall supply and install a flip-top interface box in the top of the teaching station to provide inputs for laptops or other portable devices. The inputs shall include HDMI, VGA, and analog audio connections as well as USB connections to the PC. The AVC shall coordinate with the Owner s teaching station supplier to provide the proper cutout for the flip-top. 6. SMART BOARDS: A number of classrooms include owner provided smart boards, either in addition to, or in place of, the standard projector and screen. The smart board shall be installed by the AVC using the projector provided with it and the USB extender. An HDBaseT receiver shall be provided by the AVC for connection to the projector where smart boards are installed. AVC shall inspect the smart boards provided by the owner and report back to the owner regarding any missing hardware, accessories, etc. required for a complete installation. C. LECTURE HALL: The Lecture Hall system is designed similar to the classroom systems and is intended to provide the instructor with an expedient and dependable digital media system to SAA and NSE Buildings Integrated Audio-Video Systems

8 effectively connect the students with the teaching media. The systems are centered on a teaching station which is an ADA compliant lectern with motorized adjustable height controls and integrated equipment racks to house the audio visual equipment. The top of the teaching stations include ample work surface space and an integrated bridge that shall house a touch panel, auxiliary connections to the system and a lectern style microphone. The teaching station shall be able to be connected to any one of three different floor boxes at the front of the lecture hall. The floor boxes shall be manually patchable in the IDF room via a CAT6A STP patch bay when the lectern is moved to a new position. 1. SOUND REINFORCEMENT AND PLAYBACK AUDIO SYSTEM: The lecture hall shall include a sound reinforcement and playback audio system. The system shall consist of high output ceiling speakers, powered a separate multi-channel power amplifier and DSP. The system shall be divided into several delay zones and time-aligned to the front of the room. The system shall be capable of supporting the sound reinforcement needs of a lectern mounted microphone and a wireless handheld or lapel microphone. The system shall also support the playback of AV media. Speakers shall be spaced so that there is no greater than +/- 2db variation in SPL anywhere in the student seating area of any room. Sound reinforcement shall include a high quality lectern mounted microphone and a single channel wireless microphone system with both handheld and lapel microphones available for use (one or the other at any given time). Control system touch panels shall include one button access from any page to a popup screen which shall present the instructor with three level controls to include Media Volume, Lectern Microphone, Wireless Microphone 1, and Wireless Microphone 2. Input gain controls shall also be available on the Technician page for individual sources. Active audio sources shall always be simultaneously mixed to the audio auxiliary output to the lecture capture system. The three floor boxes shall also include a single microphone input where a single microphone or mixer can be patched into the DSP to use the sound reinforcement system when the teaching station is not utilized, or for additional microphones. 2. VIDEO PROJECTION SYSTEM: The lecture hall shall include a high definition video projection system that shall enable the instructor to connect their teaching media with students. The projectors and screens shall be 16:10 aspect ratio. The projectors shall have a minimum native resolution of 1920x1200 pixels. The projector shall be lumen minimum light output. The projection system shall allow for video presentations, graphics, distance learning, physical media enlargement, etc. Via the touch panel, an instructor shall be able to select a video source to preview on their teaching station monitor, and then be able to route that source to the projector. Audio shall always follow the projected image. The projected image shall always be simultaneously sent to the lecture capture system. 3. INTEGRATED CONTROL AND AV SYSTEM: The lecture hall shall include a single box integrated control and AV switching system as well as a stand-alone control system located in the IDF room to allow for audio system control when the teaching station is not utilized. All AV sources shall be connected through this system for audio and video routing, monitoring, volume control, audio amplification, and control. Inputs and outputs shall include both analog and digital connections. An analog line level audio output shall feed the DSP in the IDF room. Final video output and control to the projection system shall be via a single CAT6A STP cable directly from the system, with no intermediary devices. The system shall reside on the NSC network and be programmed for cloud monitoring and control access. The system shall control all connected devices either via LAN, serial, or HDMI CEC control. IR control is not acceptable. The system shall include a single 7 or larger touch panel mounted in the top of the teaching station as well as a wall mounted 7 touch panel. The AVC shall coordinate with the Owner s teaching station supplier to provide the proper cutout for the touch panel. The lecture hall shall also include an architectural dimming system by others that shall be controlled by the control system via either serial or Ethernet. 9 4. LECTURE CAPTURE SYSTEM: The lecture hall shall include a video and audio lecture capture system. The system shall be connected directly to an HD PTZ ceiling mounted video camera via two CAT6A STP cables for recording an image of the instructor. The system shall also accept a digital HD video and analog audio input from the AV switching system to capture the media source simultaneously. The system shall also be connected as an input source to the AV system so that playback of a lecture is possible. 5. MEDIA SOURCES: The lecture hall shall have the ability to accept several different media sources for display by the instructor. a. PC and Monitor (OFE) an owner furnished PC shall be installed in the teaching station to allow for digital presentations, web content, playback of DVD s via the builtin DVD drive, live streaming of distance learning material, and USB media stick content. The AVC shall obtain the PC s from the owner and provide rack shelves for them. The PC shall utilize a touch screen monitor. The AVC shall install the PC s into the teaching stations and provide all necessary connection cabling including HDMI and USB cables for connection to the system as illustrated on the drawings. b. The inputs shall include HDMI, VGA, and analog audio connections as well as USB connections to the PC. The AVC shall coordinate with the Owner s teaching station supplier to provide the proper cutout for the flip-top. d. Blu-Ray Player the AVC shall supply and install a Blu-ray player in the teaching station for playback of Blu-ray media. 6. ASSISTED LISTENING: The lecture hall shall include an integrated assisted listening system to meet ADA code. The system shall utilize IR emitters and include the required amount of receivers per code. D. DIVISIBLE MEETING ROOMS: The divisible meeting room systems are designed similar to the classroom systems and are intended to provide a classroom environment on a day-to-day basis where the instructor shall have an expedient and dependable digital media system to effectively connect the students with the teaching media in addition to providing flexible meeting room functionality. The systems are centered on a teaching station in each of the three spaces which is an ADA compliant lectern with motorized adjustable height controls and integrated equipment racks to house the audio visual equipment. The top of the teaching stations include ample work surface space and an integrated bridge that shall house a touch panel, auxiliary connections to the system and a lectern style microphone. The teaching station shall be able to be connected to a floor box at the front of each divisible space. The floor boxes shall be connected to an AV matrix switch and DSP in the IDF room to allow for easy room combining of the three spaces. 1. SOUND REINFORCEMENT AND PLAYBACK AUDIO SYSTEM: The divisible meeting rooms shall include a sound reinforcement and playback audio system. The system shall consist of high output ceiling speakers, powered a separate multi-channel power amplifier and DSP. The system shall be divided into three separate zones, one for each of the three spaces. The control system shall provide a simple means of combining the spaces as required. The system shall be capable of supporting the sound reinforcement needs of a lectern mounted microphone and a wireless handheld or lapel microphone. The system shall also support the playback of AV media. Speakers shall be spaced so that there is no greater than +/- 2db variation in SPL anywhere in the student seating area of any room. The three floor boxes shall also include a single microphone input where a single microphone or mixer can be patched into the DSP to use the sound reinforcement system when the teaching station is not utilized, or for additional microphones. 2. VIDEO PROJECTION SYSTEM: The divisible meeting rooms shall include a high definition video projection system that shall enable the instructor to connect their teaching media with students. The projectors and screens shall be 16:10 aspect ratio. The projectors shall have a minimum native resolution of 1280x800 pixels. The projectors shall be 6500 lumen minimum light output. The projection system shall allow for video presentations, graphics, distance learning, physical media enlargement, etc. Via the touch panel, an instructor shall be able to select a video source to preview on their teaching station monitor, and then be able to route that source to the projector. Audio shall always follow the projected image. 3. INTEGRATED CONTROL AND AV SYSTEM: The divisible meeting rooms shall include a single box integrated control and AV switching system in each of three teaching stations as well as a stand-alone control system located in the IDF room to allow for audio system control when the teaching station is not utilized. All AV sources shall be connected through this system for audio and video routing, monitoring, volume control, audio amplification, and control. Inputs and outputs shall include both analog and digital connections. A line level analog audio output from each system shall feed an input on the DSP in the IDF room. Final video output and control to the projection system shall be via a single CAT6A STP cable directly from the system, with no intermediary devices. The system shall reside on the NSC network and be programmed for cloud monitoring and control access. The system shall control all connected devices either via LAN, serial, or HDMI CEC control. IR control is not acceptable. The system shall include a single 7 or larger touch panel mounted in the top of the teaching station as well as a wall mounted 7 touch panel in each of the three spaces. The AVC shall coordinate with the Owner s teaching station supplier to provide the proper cutout for the touch panel. 4. MEDIA SOURCES: The divisible meeting rooms shall each have the ability to accept several different media sources for display by the instructor. a. PC and Monitor (OFE) an owner furnished PC shall be installed in the teaching station to allow for digital presentations, web content, playback of DVD s via the builtin DVD drive, live streaming of distance learning material, and USB media stick content. The AVC shall obtain the PC s from the owner and provide rack shelves for them. The PC shall utilize a touch screen monitor. The AVC shall install the PC s into the teaching stations and provide all necessary connection cabling including HDMI and USB cables for connection to the system as illustrated on the drawings. b. Document Camera the AVC shall supply and install an HD digital document camera for display of physical media. c. Auxiliary Inputs the AVC shall supply and install a flip-top interface box in the top of the teaching station to provide inputs for laptops or other portable devices. The inputs shall include HDMI, VGA, and analog audio connections as well as USB connections to the PC. The AVC shall coordinate with the Owner s teaching station supplier to provide the proper cutout for the flip-top. d. Blu-Ray Player the AVC shall supply and install a Blu-ray player in the teaching station for playback of Blu-ray media. SAA and NSE Buildings Integrated Audio-Video Systems

11 5. ASSISTED LISTENING: The divisible meeting rooms shall include an integrated assisted listening system to meet ADA code. The system shall utilize IR emitters and include the required amount of receivers per code. E. EXECUTIVE CONFERENCE ROOM: The executive conference room system is intended to provide general audio visual support for small meetings. All equipment shall be housed in a local equipment rack located in the millwork. AVC shall coordinate with the millwork contractor for sizing and installation of the AV equipment rack. 1. PLAYBACK AUDIO SYSTEM: The executive conference room shall include a sound reinforcement and playback audio system. The AVC shall install the PC into the equipment rack and provide all necessary connection cabling including HDMI and USB cables for connection to the system as illustrated on the drawings. b. Auxiliary Inputs the AVC shall supply and install two flip-top interface boxes in the top of the conference table to provide inputs for laptops or other portable devices. The inputs shall include HDMI, VGA, and analog audio connections as well as USB connections to the PC. The AVC shall coordinate with the Owner s furniture supplier to provide the proper cutout for the flip-tops. c. Blu-Ray Player the AVC shall supply and install a Blu-ray player in the teaching station for playback of Blu-ray media. F. INSTRUCT TECH TRAINING LAB: The Instruct Tech Training Lab system is intended to provide interactivity between the class and instructor using wall mounted displays and a central projection screen. 1. PLAYBACK AUDIO SYSTEM: The room shall include an audio system for the playback of audio from any single laptop input. The system shall consist of in-ceiling speakers, powered from a stand-alone amplifier. Speakers shall be spaced so that there is no greater than +/- 2db variation in SPL anywhere in the student seating area of any room. Control system touch panels shall include a volume control always on the screen for the chosen laptop input. Input gain controls shall also be available on the Technician page for individual sources. 2. VIDEO PROJECTION AND DISPLAY SYSTEM: The room shall include a high definition video projection system that shall enable the instructor to connect their teaching media with students. The projector and screen shall be 16:10 aspect ratio. The projector shall have a minimum native resolution of 1280x800 pixels. The projector shall be 6500 lumen minimum light output. The room shall have 6 displays installed on the walls where a local input wall plate will allow breakout groups to display a laptop or other image on that display. There shall be an additional laptop wall plate located next to the projection screen for the instructor to attach their laptop. Using the touch panel, the instructor may choose any of the 7 inputs to display on any or all of the displays at any time. Audio shall always follow the projected image. An 8x8 digital video and audio matrix switcher shall be used to route all of the input wall plates to the displays and projector. The input plates and outputs to the displays and projector shall connect using CAT6A STP cable directly to the devices with no intermediary devices between the matrix and device or display. 3. INTEGRATED CONTROL SYSTEM: The room shall include a single control processor and 7 touch panel. The system shall reside on the NSC network and be programmed for cloud monitoring and control access. The system shall control all connected devices either via LAN, serial, or HDMI CEC control. IR control is not acceptable. The system shall include a single 7 or larger wall mounted touch panel. G. FINCANCE LAB (NESE 128): The Finance Lab acts as a standard classroom with similar technology, but also includes a proprietary set of video walls, world clocks, and ticker. This equipment is existing and the AVC shall include labor to remove the existing equipment from the existing Finance Lab to the new location. All mounts, displays, clocks, and ticker shall be disassembled and then re-installed in the new location. The GC has provided backing in the wall for mounting, electrical, and conduit. Refer to the attached existing documentation. AVC should also refer to the existing installation and document it prior to moving. 1.6 SUBMITTALS A. CONDUIT AND CABLING SAA and NSE Buildings Integrated Audio-Video Systems

13 1. Submit for approval all cable pull schedules and/or run sheets prior to cable installation. Documentation of the entire conduit and cabling installation shall be fully performed to construction documentation standards and as specified herein. B. SHOP DRAWINGS 1. Prior to fabrication, submit custom engineering pertaining to the audiovisual system. This engineering includes, but is not limited to, the following: a. Complete system construction and point-to-point wiring schematic drawings, including all component values and showing complete letter and number identification of all wire and cable as well as jacks, terminals, and connectors. b. All cut sheets related to equipment can components supplied by the AVC. c. All panels, plates and designation strips, including details relating to terminology, engraving, finish and color. d. Remote control panel design (to include live interactive electronic format). e. All equipment racks, cabinets, consoles, tables, carts, support braces, and shelves. f. Schematic drawings (AV, network & control signal flows). g. All non-factory equipment modifications. h. Patch-panel assignment layout drawings. i. Equipment mechanical drawings of each equipment rack. j. Equipment location drawings. k. System functional block drawings, including those for audio and video subsystems. l. Cable labeling plan. m. All equipment whether a stock manufactured item or custom built item shall be supported by complete and detailed schematic drawings and replacement parts lists. No black boxes or unidentified components shall be acceptable. 2. The AVC shall forward three copies of the submittal to the Owner. The Owner shall retain two copies and forward one copy of the submittal to Coherent Design, 3471 W Oquendo Rd., Ste. 201, Las Vegas, NV If the submittal is technically approved, the Consultant will retain one copy for official records and return one technically approved submittal to the Owner. 4. If the submittal is technically disapproved, the Consultant will return the copy to the Owner with written explanation attached indicating the areas the submittal deviated from the system specifications. C. SUBSTITUTIONS 1. Requests for substitutions or deviations shall include the following: a. Descriptions of the total foreseeable effect of the substitution or deviation upon the design of the project and agreement to be directly responsible for any resultant extra costs, whether the costs are incurred by the AVC or other contractors. b. Materials and equipment proposed as being in compliance with or in deviation from specified standards or as a substitute for specified items shall be indicated as soon as possible. Upon receiving disapproval for any item, the AVC shall immediately resubmit a revised list for approval and, thereafter, continue to resubmit a revised list until complete written approval of all items has been obtained. D. INSTALLATION PROGRESS 1. Provide week-by-week Work Progress schedules keyed to personnel, vendors, and tasks as specified herein and provide updates as requested by the CM, Architect, Consultant, or Owner. E. DELIVERY DOCUMENTATION SAA and NSE Buildings Integrated Audio-Video Systems

14 1. The AVC shall prepare and supply the Owner with a minimum of (3) identical copies of owner s manuals, or a quantity required by the project specification if greater. Manuals shall be provided in both electronic and hard-bound formats. Before distribution of manuals, one copy shall be submitted to the Consultant for approval. Each manual is to contain the following: NO OWNER OR END USER SHALL SIGN OFF ON ANY SYSTEM OR SUBMIT FINAL PAYMENT TO THE AV CONTRACTOR IF THESE ITEMS HAVE NOT BEEN DELIVERED. a. System operation and Maintenance Manual. The AV Contractor shall produce this manual specifically for the systems detailed herein. The Operation section shall describe, in detail, all typical procedures necessary to activate each system to provide for the functional requirements as listed herein. The reader of this manual shall be assumed to be technically competent, but unfamiliar with this particular facility. The Maintenance section shall provide a recommended maintenance schedule with reference to the applicable pages in the manufacturer s maintenance manuals. Where the manufacturer provides inadequate information, the AVC shall provide the information necessary for proper maintenance. b. In addition to the more detailed System Operation and Maintenance Manual prepare a more simplified Quick Start or Executive Summary version that shall consist of no more than one 8 ½ by 11 inch sheet describing the most basic functions. Laminated copies of this instruction sheet shall be located for easy access by the user. c. Video of training session. AVC shall provide video recording of the training session. d. System one-line drawing including all labeling and changes ( as built drawings ). e. Owner s manual for each piece of equipment. f. Contractor s service phone number in a conspicuous place. g. All test reports. h. A list of software versions, hardware versions, IP addresses, ID addresses, passwords, and part, product and serial numbers. i. Backup and restoration procedures. j. Any required software, firmware, and data files for operation, maintenance, restoration and backup. k. All custom DSP and Control System programming source code (un-compiled) and compiled versions. F. TRAINING 1. The AVC shall provide the Owner with employee training on completed systems at reasonable convenience of the Owner during normal business hours. Training to cover the proper and safe operation and maintenance of all supplied systems and equipment. 2. At no additional cost to the Owner, the AV Contractor shall provide a manufacturer s representative for such instruction in the event the AVC does not have qualified instructors on staff for certain sophisticated equipment. 3. All training shall take place after the systems are operational, but before the acceptance tests and first use. 4. Training sessions shall be performed independent of any acceptance testing procedures, and factory training at any manufacturer s facility. 5. The duration and intensity of training shall be based on the complexity of each system and shall be determined/confirmed by the Owner. The AV Contractor shall allow for a minimum of 40 hours of Owner training. 6. The Contactor shall provide the Owner with employee training in the proper method for AV system digital program restoration for all software-based components. The AVC shall supply the Owner a copy of all AV system backup programming for all systems on CD- ROM for the purpose of AV system backup and restoration.
