20 Susick Elementary and the Troy Police Department Summer Bookmobile 2017 This summer Susick Elementary will continue the partnership with the Troy Police Department for our Summer Bookmobile, with the support of Title I grant funds, Susick PTO and Alpha Delta Kappa Alpha Phi (WSC Female Teacher Organization). As part of this program, Susick students will receive free books for summer reading during each of the dates listed below. This summer, we will have four evening visits only at Milverton Park due to summer maintenance at Susick. Participating students* will be given two books, a graphic organizer, and instructions for completing a writing activity. After reading the books from their initial visit they will complete the writing assignment with help from the graphic organizer. Upon the next visit, students will be required to return the initial two books and swap them for two other books plus submit a written response to at least one of the previous two books in order to receive additional books. All books from the bookmobile will need to be returned to the media center at the start of the school year. In addition to the reading component of the Susick Bookmobile, School Resource Officer John Julian, will be joining our media specialist and one surprise teacher on each visit. Officer Julian will provide anti-bullying and safety activity booklets and pamphlets for our students. Please know that the Bookmobile will be only at Milverton Park this year. 1. Wednesday, June 28 th (6:00pm-7:00pm) 2. Wednesday, July 12 th (6:00pm-7:00pm) Bookmobile Dates only at Milverton Park 3. Wednesday, July 26 th (6:00pm-7:00pm) 4. Wednesday, August 9 th (6:00pm-7:00pm) The Susick Bookmobile will be open rain or shine. Closed by 7:00pm *Students must have a parent/guardian present with them in order to participate. *
