1 2018 South Conway Elementary Summer Reading partnering with Horry County Memorial Libraries' 2018 Summer Reading Program! Registration will open May 1 and they can begin recording June 1. Signing up through the public library is free and easy. Register" to get started. "Login as often as possible to keep track of the time you spend reading. Your last day to log reading time through the online tool will be August 3, 2018! Parents: If you would like to create a Family Account, please register yourself first and then register your children under your account. What if we do not have access to the internet? No problem. The public library will have a chart that you can track your progress. Horry County Public Library Incentives: Earn points for the time you spend reading. Once you hit 600 points, you earn a certificate and a special medal! Check out our Frequently Asked Questions section on the webpage above for more information. Due August 3, 2018, to the public library. South Conway Elementary Incentives: A Summer Reading Celebration will be held at SCE for students who read 600 minutes this summer! (This includes using the SCE Library Reading Logs or using the public library online tool.) SCE will get a report from the Horry County Memorial Library of your participation through the online tool. If you only did the SCE Reading Log, it is due to the SCE Library by Aug. 24, If you choose not to participate through the Horry County Public Library, that is okay! You may use the attached SCE reading log to track your reading at home! Students may read books from home, public libraries, friends and family, SCE ebooks, Achieve 3000 articles, etc.

2 Libraries Rock!! Reading Rocks!! Read this summer!!!!! Set a goal of reading AT LEAST 15 minutes a day for 20 days in June, and AT LEAST 15 minutes a day for a combination of 20 days in July/August. For very young children, this time can be spread out through the day. Frequently Asked Questions Can I count books that I read on my computer or e-reader? Of course! It s all the same to us. Can I count time when my parents read to me? For sure! We love when parents read to their children! Can I count audiobooks and SCE ebooks? Yes! Can I count the time that I spend reading a book even if I don t finish it? Absolutely! Fifteen minutes is fifteen minutes. Can I join the program after its official start date? Yes! If you can remember any reading you ve done after the official start date, you re welcome to go count that. Can I count reading that I ve done before the official start date? Actually no, we do ask that you count ONLY the reading you ve done within the official dates of the program. Will Achieve 3000 articles count as reading? Yes! Cut and return bottom portion ONLY!
