2 This packet has been designed as a resource for Pathfinder leaders looking for readymade user-friendly clerical forms. It is intended for use by leaders in your local group. 4 Introduction It is important that you have proper authorization for any outing that you conduct off-site (not on the premises of your normal meeting facilities). You will need written permission from the parents of any minors attending the outing. Sometimes group members invite friends to come along. If you are allowing this, then you will need the permission slips for the friends as well (ALL MINORS). You will need to do this for each separate outing when it occurs. You will find a permission slip for this purpose in this guide. Make copies for your local group, as you need them. It is also important for all groups within the organization to seek authorization from the leadership for off-site outings. For instance, if a unit counselor wants to take his group on a trip to the local science center, then they would need to submit a request to that effect to the club director for approval. Upon approval, the outing would then be officially sanctioned by the organization and therefore under it s umbrella of liability protection. You will find a unit outing request form for this purpose in this guide. You will also find a division outing request form for clubs that are broken down into boys, girls, or other divisions. Make copies for your local group, as you need them. You will also need to seek permission from your church board in order for your outing to be officially sanctioned by your church and thus covered under that umbrella of protection I mentioned above.
