ADOPT AGENDA Moved by Jace Turner, seconded by Sara Doehring and carried unanimously to adopt the agenda with the following addition: 4.d. Feedback on the status of Capira. 3. *APPROVE MINUTES Moved by Sandi Williams, seconded by John Corbett and carried unanimously to approve the June 24, 2015 minutes as presented. 4. OPAC a. *Feedback on adding newspaper records to the catalog. Question about the web link showing on our sample newspaper record, and whether patrons will be able to access a newspaper through the Web link; response that if it doesn t work, then the online link can easily be removed. BG will add newspaper records supplied by the libraries to the catalog, and will send a note to the libraries when completed. b. *Discuss new bib records without item records attached. There are 141 records with pub dates of 2013, 2014 & 2015 without records attached, and 22 records from 2014 & 2015 with patron holds without item record attached. Propose a policy for jurisdictions to add item records to every bib record added to the catalog. Are there instances when jurisdictions can t attach items? (Attachment: Record Set of Unlinked Bib Records with Patron Holds). Discussion of ways new items are added, and how Bib records may end up with no records attached. Jurisdictions are asked to add items that are onorder so everyone knows they are coming soon. BG has identified another 120 records with no items attached, attributable to various libraries. BG will run a report monthly so that each jurisdiction may fix their errors; the report will be sent along with the patron holds s, solving the issue without the need to create a new policy. c. Digital Collections how should Luna be presented on the PAC? Testing is happening on the training website; BG can include a link to a webpage similar to Harvard s for digital collections, or we can provide a link to a list-view of digital collections. Request that either option include redundant links so that patrons can learn about digital collections in a variety of ways, such as the carousel and a link under digital downloads. Discussion about merits of webpage like Harvard s or list view. Group agreed that for now the list view will suffice, while the Harvard model is one we can aspire to as more digital collections are added. d. Feedback on the status of Capira. BG query to find out whether everyone has submitted their Capira documents. All libraries should double-check to make sure they have submitted (BG will check with Santa Paula). 4 4 of URL Field in Bib Records There are bib records in the catalog with broken links in the 856 URL fields. When you add a bib record to the catalog, please check the link to see if it works. Please remove the URL for cover image. We use Content Café for our image display, which is connected to the 020 ISBN field. (Many of the broken links are cover image jpgs.) Jurisdictions getting records from Baker & Taylor can instruct them to remove the 856 cover image URL fields. Please remove the URL linking to another library source in DVD/Blu-ray records. We run the URL checker 2 to 3 times a year to find and fix errors in the 856 fields, but a quick check and removal when you add the record will help catch broken links sooner.

5 5 of 7 Twilight and Divergent movies on DVD and Blu-ray Do we want to add Twilight saga to the 245 title field so the movies will be shelved together? Examples: atwilight saga. ptwilight atwilight saga. pnew moon atwilight saga. peclipse atwilight saga. pbreaking dawn. npart atwilight saga. pbreaking dawn. npart 2 Or leave the titles as they are in the 245 field and add Twilight saga as added title in the 246 field? Example: anew moon atwilight saga. pnew moon There are 15 DVD/Blu-ray bib records for Twilight saga. Do we want to add Divergent series to the 245 title field so the movies will be shelved together? Example: adivergent series. pinsurgent adivergent series. pdivergent Or leave the titles as they are and add Divergent series as added title in the 246 field? Example: ainsurgent adivergent series. pinsurgent adivergent adivergent series. pdivergent (And eventually treat Allegiant the same way too.) There are 4 DVD/Blu-ray bib records for Divergent series.

6 6 of 7 Merging Selected Non-Fiction Bib Records We generally keep hardcover and paperback non-fiction bib records separate if they have been originally cataloged as separate records. Do we want to merge all or some of the Being peace bib records? Each record has the same publisher, author and illustrator, but different paging and pub dates (1987, 1996, 2005.) Two of the records have patron holds on them.

The records have the same publisher and author, and similar paging, but different pub dates, and different titles and subtitles: HC: I thought it was just me : women reclaiming power and courage in a culture of shame PBK: I thought it was just me (but it isn't) : making the journey from "what will people think?" to "I am enough" The hardcover record has 10 patron holds on it, but the paperback only has 1 hold.
