2 Character Tee Shirt PART ONE: GET READY Use your sticky notes to complete the graphic organizer showing how the character changed from the beginning of the story to the end. PART TWO: MAKE THE CHARACTER TEE SHIRT Use the template of a tee shirt or create your own. Follow the directions below and include all information that is listed in each part of the shirt. 5 Book Jacket PART ONE: GET READY Use your sticky notes to complete the graphic organizer showing how the character changed from the beginning of the story to the end. PART TWO: MAKE THE BOOK JACKET Fold a piece of plain (unlined) or colored paper in half, then fold the edges to the inside to form a book jacket or cover that could slip onto the book. Like this: Front cover - must include the title of the book, the author, an illustration that tells something about the book, and your name. Left inside flap - write a short summary of the books, listing the main events of the plot in sequential order. Right inside flap - list the character s strengths and weaknesses. Back cover tell how the character changed from the beginning of the story to the end. Be sure to include evidence from the text to prove your ideas. Be sure your cover is creative and colorful and would make someone want to read your book!

6 Character Change Filmstrip PART ONE: GETTING READY 1. Use your sticky notes or story map to review the details of the story. Think about how the character changed from the beginning of the story to the end. Fill in your ideas on the graphic organizer. 2. Review the directions before you begin working. Check off each part as you finish it. PART TWO: FILMSTRIP 1. Use the ideas from your sticky notes and the graphic organizer to design your filmstrip. It should show how the main character changed throughout the story. 2. Use the pages provided to create a filmstrip or design one of our own. 3. Your filmstrip should follow the guidelines below: PANEL 1: should include the title of your book, the author, and a picture about the book. PANEL 2: should introduce the main character in your book. Be sure to have his/her name and a picture. PANEL 3-5 (or however many panels you need): should show how the character changed from the beginning of the book until the end. Be sure to include text based facts. Include one drawing and a sentence describing it in each panel, just like a real comic or filmstrip would. Be sure the filmstrip tells the story in chronological order. LAST PANEL: should include your name! Be creative and have fun!
