4 SOUTHERN REGIONAL POWER COMMITTEE BENGALURU Additional Agenda for the 64 th Meeting of Protection Coordination Sub-Committee of SRPC to be held on 25 th May, 2017 (Thursday) 1. Additional Grid Occurrences The following Grid Occurrences would also be discussed in the meeting: Sl. No. Details of Event Date & Time Reason Category 1 Tripping of 220 kv Edamon-Tirunelveli line at 20:41 hrs R-phase to earth fault had occurred in line. Auto-reclose was successful at Tirunelveli and line tripped from Edamon GI-1 2 Guttur-Narendra line at 18:01 hrs Direct trip was received at Narendra. FIR, DR and EL of Guttur end were not furnished to validate the tripping 3 4 Tripping of 400kVGooty- Nelamangala line Tripping of HVDC Gajuwaka Pole-1&2 and 400 kv Jeypore- Gazuwaka line-1& at 09:29hrs 28-Apr-17 at 8:44 and 9:07 hrs TEED operation at Gooty. FIR, DR and EL of both not furnished Pole-1 got tripped due to failure of auxiliary supply changeover. 400kV Jeypore-Gazuwaka line-2 got tripped on operation of over-voltage protection. Pole-2 east shunt reactor got failed and this inturn resulted in tripping of HVDC pole-2 due to Pole-2 Y block activation. 400kV Jeypore-Gazuwaka line -1 also got tripped during the incident. 5 Raichur(PG)-Gooty at 22:46 hrs Line tripped on B-phase to earth fault. Line did not aut-reclose 6 VTPS-Satenapalli line-2 30-Apr-17 at 4:28 hrs Line tripped on B-phase to earth fault. FIR, DR and EL of both ends were not furnished to validate the tripping Constituents are requested to furnish the following information in respect of the above grid occurrences to have fruitful discussion. (a) Single line diagram of the station with switching devices, CT, PT and relay details. (b) Cause of the tripping & Remedial Action taken (c) Relay setting details Constituents are requested to bring/ furnish full particulars of the tripping events pertaining to their system. Perturbations experienced at 400 kv TPCIL Station M/s TPCIL vide their mail dated has requested to deliberate on the following events, which have been experienced at their 400 kv switchyard on several occasions in the past few months: Sl. However, experience of perturbations in line/ GT relays had been a recurrent phenomenon at TPCIL end. In this regard, all concerned Constituents, viz., TPCIL, PGCIL (SR-I), MEPL, SEL, APTRANSCO and APGENCO, are requested to kindly present their perspective w.r.t. above events factoring in the possibility of occurrence of faults in the adjoining 400/ 200 kv network.
