We are doing this because almost 700 people have access to the member section of the website and we do not have 700 members. * On MAY 1, 2017, we will be deleting ALL user names and password. * On May 4, and NOT BEFORE, please go to the GSCA website and create a user name and password as if you are creating a new account. * After you have set up your account, please me at gscawebsite@gmail.com and let me know your username and the you used. I will verify your membership and go into the system and change you from a user to a member. At that point, you will have access to the member section. I will respond to your and let you know when I have made the change. Thank you for your patience during this transition time. * We are not doing this process until May so that everyone has a chance to see the newsletter.

3 Giant Tales Volume 17, Issue 4 Page 3 Established in 1962 Officers Kimberly Demchak, President ~ Kappy Zahn, Vice President Howard Postovit, Treasurer ~ Brenda Cejka, Secretary Giant Schnauzer Club Members, During there was a committee who reviewed the Constitution and By-laws. Recommendations were made, some of which the Board agreed with and others that neither the Board nor AKC thought were appropriate. We have worked hard to establish E-balloting in order to cut back on the substantial costs incurred by the club when there is a matter requiring a vote by the members. In late April or early May, you will be receiving E-ballots to vote on two separate changes to issues with the Constitution and By-laws that are imperative to address at this time. The first will address the length of time for annual membership renewal. Per AKC, members should not have an entire year to renew their membership. They recommended that there is one initial renewal notification and a second notice in mid-january. Further, per AKC, failure to pay dues by the end of January would require re-application for membership, including processing fee and sponsor endorsements. The second is a By-law change regarding selection of Judges for the National event. Per present By- Laws time this involves two major mailings and numerous phone calls. There has been much thought and consideration to both of these changes. There has been input from AKC, members, Parent Clubs of many breeds. The Board is requesting you review these changes and vote to accept these changes. If you did not sign for e-balloting you will receive a paper ballot. For those who are voting by e-ballot, rest assured that no one other than the polling company knows your or the vote you cast. You can only vote once. Two member households with only one will only have one e-ballot, there will not be a paper ballot sent. All results will be tallied by the polling company and reported to the Board. Once the initial e-voting has been completed, other sections of the Constitution and By-laws will be sent for your review and vote. Sincerely, Kim Demchak GSCA President
