Кудря Article Theme Party Spring love St.Valentine s Day Revne Secondary school (Written by Mykola Mykolaiovych Kudria, English teacher, candidate of Pedagogical sciences, senior lecturer) The English Decade devoted to St. Valentine s Day, Love & Respect was held at Revne Secondary school from 13th February to. It includes: watching cartoons (forms 1 4); watching the film The Titanic (forms 9, 11); wall newspaper contest; talk-discussion Love will Save the World, etc. The most exciting event in the school life was conducting the Theme Party Spring Love on. The forms 8 11 participated in it. The Programme consists of Video Presentation, reciting poems / monologues / sonnets with Ukrainian literary translation version, singing popular hits in English and Brain Ring. The Video Presentation was done by Technic & Presenting Groups: Dmytro Bezpaly, Dmytro Yevtushenko, Tetiana Myroniuk (Form 11); Sergiy Babych (Form 10); Alisa Lytvyn, Viktoria Tymenko (Form 9); Lina Kubrak, Yan Kolomiyets (Form 8). They told the information from the history of St.Valentine s Day, about ways of its celebration in different countries and demonstrating animated films. It was very interesting and cognitive. The Creative Contest includes reciting poetry and performing songs. Yana Korobeinyk and Svitlana Stepurenko (form 11) recited the Hamlet s monologue To Be or Not to Be. Valeria Chaban (form 9) told the brief biography of the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns and recited one of his world-known poem My Heart s in the Highlands. Yevgeniy Semeniuk (form 9) read the Ukrainian literary translation version. It was great. Shakespeare s sonnets No.130 & No.18 were recited by Anastasia Tykhoplav and Anna Shapoval (form 8) with the Ukrainian literary translation version by Yulia Stepurenko and Sofia Pronichkina. It was the very poetic atmosphere. The Song Contest consists of singing popular hits in English. Karina Lakiza (form 10) sang the song Giv in to Me by Michael Jackson. Oleksandra Nyzhegorodtseva and Alisa Lytvyn performed the song, the sound track to the Oscar-awarded film The Titanic by Celine Dion. The junior talented pop singer Sofia Pronichkina sang the song Here I Am by Renee Sanders. The culmination of the Party was Brain Ring. The first competitors were the teams of Form 8 & 9. Form 8: captain Lina Kubrak, Anna Shapoval, Anastasia Tykhoplav, Alona Shevchenko, Sofia Pronichkina, Valentyn Khivrych V.S. Form 9: captain Dmytro Shkulipa, Alisa Lytvyn, Oleksandra Nyzhegorodtseva, Valeria Chaban, Yevgeniy Semeniuk, Illa Moroziuk. The eighth-formers won the battle. The team of Form 11: captain Dmytro Yevtushenko, Svitlana Stepurenko, Yana Korobeinyk, Viktoria Chaban, Dmytro Bezpaly, Sergiy Verna V.S. the team of Form 10: captain Sergiy Babych, Viktoria Tymenko, Artur Vonchul, Vladyslava Kurinska, Karina Lakiza, Yulia Gonchar. The semi-final was won by Form 10. So the final Brain Ring was between Forms 8 & 10. The team of Form 8 became the winner! The contestants answers the questions dealing with the history, the royal family, the culture and other facts related to the UK. The participants showed the high IQ. The Final accord of the party was played by Sofia Pronichkina singing the song Blame as the gift to both the contestants and the spectators. The audience was impressed by the show. The Party was fantastic!
